2015 MY:

2.5i - .00175 and 65%

2.5i Premium - .00165 and 65%

2014 MY:

2.5i - .00075 and 60%

2.5i Premium - .00075 and 59%

I would say that the payment will be very close to one another at the moment. Not sure what the numbers will look like in August or September, when you get more serious, though I would think that if there is a lot of inventory of the '14's, then expect to see lower MF's to move them out.

Also interesting is the 1% residual value hit the 2014 2.5i Premium takes over the "base" 2.5i model.

This is something we've been seeing a lot of with the premium makes. Audi, for example, has residuals of a point or two lower on their "prestige" trim level than they do on the 'premium' or 'premium plus' trim lines. Now it's trickling down into the non-premium brands.

My guess is that the technology available in cars now will be worth less after 3 years, due to advances made in the industry.

Think about it - do you want to buy an off-lease (fill in the blank) from 2011 with tech that is 3 years old - or missing altogether? (I'm looking at you, streaming Bluetooth audio)

I ran the numbers using current invoice as the selling price (I'm sure they go lower), but just as a "base" number. I've included 6.35% Sales Tax

-2014 2.5i: $273.31
-2015 2.5i: $281.92

-2014 2.5i Premium: $305.71
-2015 2.5i Premium: $345.19

Dealer in Stamford shows 41 2015s in inventory (or in transit) with 0 2014s.
Another dealer not too far away shows 18 2015s in stock (or in transit) with 0 2014s.

It is almost the middle of June. I've got to make some time and start test driving.

I know November just started, but could I get the MF and Residual Value for a 2015 Forester XT Premium and a 2015 Forester 2.5i Premium both at 36 month lease and 12,000 miles per year in OHIO when available? Thanks for all the great info.
