I currently have a dodge dakota sport (1999)w/ a 5.2 v-8. Its all over the road in the rain, its a yugo in the snow, ( you go, it don't), and it can't pull any kind of load. I will give credit where its due, it can handle a lot of weight in the bed but it can't pull. They also don't seem to hold up as well. I mean it's like the truck just isn't quite built to last. The quality factor is what I suppose I'm trying to get at. Safety is not an issue, the truck held up great in an acc. ( better than I did). The wife's minivan has problem's holding in the rain as well, and it has a better weight distribution than the truck.
The Ram also has more comfortable seats. If only they would put an adjustable head restraint on them. I think that is a major safety fubar. Maybe the new Rams will have this.
I totally disagree. The Ram is a good looking truck, but the F150 looks nothing like a taurus. The Ram is definitely more "rugged" looking, but I like the F150's clean lines.
Not only is the front "swoopy" but if you look at the side (door panel), the curve goes out from the window then back in and then out again. Reminds me of an old man's jowls hanging from his face. Its something extra thats got to go. I have to look at my truck every day and be comfortable inside. The F150 didn't cut it. It did beat the heck out of GM's box like design however.
I have had 93 f150, 97 f150, 00ram and 01ram. I honestly can't tell much difference in reliability. My neighbor who is a contractor swears that the dodges are indestructible. The dodge interior layout better. My only beef with dodge is that they are *slow* to make changes to next years model. I feel both ford and dodge put too "long legged" a axle ratio in thier manual transmission trucks.

Give me one of each, then maybe I'll be happy??
