    The Edmunds forum was a HUGE help.

    Got my CLA $1200 below invoice (READ ON) ; sticker MSRP $32600
    $500 processing fee
    $1095 lease acquisition

    if you take out the processing fee and overcharge on the lease acquisition --- you can say the car price was at $500-600 below invoice. DC Dealers were asking near full MSRP.... got this deal in CT.

    Looked at the IS250 for the exact same monthly payment; but CLA won on seat comfort, fuel economy, roomy interior and LOOKS!

    Had 2 new mercedes before (ML320 + E500)... both had major repairs in 30k miles (including transmission). This CLA250 lasted 30 days (1000 miles) before needing a dealer warranty repair for non-operating wipers (wiper motor gave up).

    Love/Hate relation... love the car, hate the dealer visits for breakdowns.

    Would you mind sharing the specifics of your lease? What was the MSRP, Selling price, residual, money factor, and monthly payment excluding tax? My guess is that they jacked your money factor up by the equivalent of the total discount they gave you on the car.

    No one will sell a CLA that far below invoice right now. It is all too easy to make a lease sound great when it really is not.

    mpgxsvcd ; you are correct the "processing fee" and "acquisition fee" are jacked up which puts pricing at ~$500 below invoice, that is why I stated "read on" in my original post.

    ... i got lease quotes from $375 - $500 monthly payment for the same car. I thought $349/mo for the following terms was good.

    • MSRP on Sticker --- $32600
    • Selling price --- $29200
    • dealer fee -- $500
    • acquisition fee -- $1095
    • residual $21549
    • money factor === .00162
    • monthly payment $349/mo
    • 12k miles/year ; 36 months
    • $2500 total out of pocket (covers mostly taxes plus some down payment)
    • tax ~$1800 MD Tax (maryland is high at 6% of $29200)
    • no trade-in

    hope this is helpful to buyers... edmunds forum was really helpful to me.

    @rashidi

    I ran the numbers on that lease and it actually should have been $322 if you use those numbers. They basically gave you a $2450 discount instead of the $3400 you thought you were getting. The actual selling price of the car was $30150 and not $29200 like they told you. It is a shame that so many dealers to this to honest customers.

    They gave you a significant discount which is great but it wasn't quite what you thought they were giving you. Overall that is a fair price though. Getting that large of a discount is great on the CLA right now. I have had dealers try to charge me $2500 ABOVE MSRP so going the same amount the other way is much better.

    Your taxes are really high as well but that is not the dealers fault.

    Trying to figure out the numbers for a good lease of a CLA 36 months 15K with a True Market Value of 36.000 (seems like this is close to MSRP for this car). Also not looking to put any down for CCR.

    Residual value? Money factor? Fees that are non-negocible?

    Does the true market value (which i got from Edmunds), does it sound accurate?

    Thank you.

    I'm looking to lease my first car: Mercedes CLA. Below are the stats. I think this is a reasonable deal. I'd really appreciate it if someone else can confirm this as well. Thank you so much.

    Depreciation (65%): 27127.75

    Money factor: 0.00162

    12,000 miles/year for 3 years

    Tax: 5.6%

    Acquisition fee: 795.00

    Service fee: 168.00

    Down payment: $1,000

    There is not enough information there to tell you if it is good or not. We need to know the total amount of money you will pay at signing and how your state's taxes are calculated. Is the Acquisition fee rolled into the lease?

    If nothing is rolled into the lease then the payment should have been $489 if you got a 2% discount on the vehicle. $498 would be with only a 1% discount. Plus the money factor for March should have been .00145 and not .00162. They were sticking in extra profit there.

    Can you please provide May MF and residuals for 10K miles per year on whatever available shorter term leases MBFS offers (i.e. less than 36 months)?

    Thanks!

    2014 CLA250: MSRP: $38,375.00 with metallic paint, P1, Sport package, heated front seats, 18" wheels, bi xenon headlamps, panoramic sunroof. Purchase Price: $37,375.00 (after $1,000 discount) Capitalized cost $38522.18 includes acquisition fee.
    36 mos. lease, 10k/year, $1,700 down covers first payment, license, registration, processing fees. MF 0.00185 66% residual which is $25,327.50 optional buyout after lease ends. Monthly Lease Payment: $458 (includes tax). I have good credit with a score of 702, negotiated with the dealership, they said its their final offer. Seems like a decent deal but input from others would be great. I might goto the dealership to pick it up tomorrow, is it a good deal? Or is a 2014 E350 Sedan with no options the same price?

    Hmmm, when I plug in your numbers I get a pre-tax payment of $484.64, so I'm not sure where the dealer is getting a $458/mo payment.

    Of course, the new MB numbers come out today, so I can't yet comment if the residual and MF are the same as what you were quoted yesterday.

    Michaell, Can you post MBFS MF/Residual rates for June? Also my current credit score is 700, will that qualify me for the Top-Tier rate? Thanks!

    2014 CLA250: .00145 MF and 63% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr.

    700 should be enough for top-tier, if your credit qualifies, otherwise.

    Hi Guys.... Can someone tell me if this is a good deal on a 2014 CLA 250 4matic.
    MSRP =38975
    SP=38975-3800=35175
    Residual= 66
    MF= .00174
    Monthly payment :390 (Including tax)
    2000 down= 925 Doc Fee+1st Months payment (391) +TTL

  • liche90liche90 Member Posts: 28

    @gurs, how you get 10% off? any special programs you used? Looks like the MF is marked up, I think it should be around .00145.

  • gursgurs Member Posts: 23

    No, I did not use any special programs. He was willing to give me 1000 off from the start so I pushed for more. Also the car that we wanted was not in his lot and had to be moved from a different state. It took only like 15 minutes to get the deal so I was wondering if its because the demand for CLA is not that high at this moment. Ya, I figured he marked up the money factor but I did not wanted to take the chance of waiting/negotiating more since the car color/features that I wanted are not so common to find.

    I m also in the same boat. I got two quotes - Can you pl tell me, if this is a good deal?

    • CLA 250 AWD( all options loaded except sun roof and driver assistance pkg) - MSRP - 42K, sale price - 37K, residual - 0.66 , mf 0.00139. Monthly payment - 380 ( includes tax) and 1300 down.
      CLA 250 AWD ( all except sun roof, driver assistance, sports pkg) - MSRP 39K. sale price 35K. Residual 0.66, MF - 0.00144. Monthly payment 340 with 2.5 K down.

    also, what is bank fee ( 700) - is it legitimate? and also purchase price ( residual) is off the MSRP, not off the sale price. Is that sounds right?
    Appreciate your take on these two offers.

    What are the lease terms and miles per year on the above quotes?

    MF on the CLA 250 4Matic is .00144 for September .. not sure how dealer 1 can quote you .00139?

    How much of the down payment is going to cap cost reduction?

    Looking at a CLA250 sport awd 36mo and 12k miles- MSRP of $42,949. Got quoted a 65% residual and.00174 mf. With a sale price of 40,949 they are asking $2k down and $539/mo.

    Can anyone validate the October residual/MF?

    Any advice on where the sale price should be negotiated? Any programs to leverage?

    Base MF is .00144, so the dealer is marking that up on you. 36/12 residual is indeed 65%.

    How is the $2k broken down - fees, taxes, down payment?
