    lol.......I wish.
My only boat was a Sunfish!
Lots of people in Florida have boats...........not much interest to me. Motor boats smell of gas fumes, sail boats - there are too many unknown factors. I'll stick with my "I Drive" car.

Well, for sure to each their own. Owning a boat is really an acquired taste. This is not even to mention one needs a boat load of disposable income! (pun intended) I have to admit that at one time it really makes sense to own one as a (floating) home.

That’s how I drive....in my dreams. It was only recently that I learned the difference between the Shelby GT 350 and the GT 500. The former makes less horsepower but is a better track car. The 500 makes an extra 100 or so horses but I’d take the handling superiority. Don’t think I would ever need more than 500hp.

That reminds me, time to back mine out of the garage and idle it awhile to keep the tires round and the battery charged.

Different strokes for different folks. I grew up boating and absolutely love it, from water sports to bobbing in the water with a fishing line in the water to slow cruising through red rock canyons to pounding the waves at high speed. But there is some cost involved for certain. Boats are so much more reliable than they were in the past, particularly the Yamaha jet boats and I think that's what I'd buy today if I were looking at a new purchase. There's still insurance, fuel, winterization, and the fact Colorado's warm season is only May through October.

In a few years we'll likely give up the watercraft when we go full electric with our vehicles. Maybe a Hobie Cat....

I looked at the schedule - they play Ave Maria tomorrow, Lawrence Technological College Sunday, and Southeastern College Monday - all double-headers.  They go back to Nebraska on Tuesday.

Not too far away.  His Monday doubleheader is in Lakeland, FL against Southeastern College.

The team members don’t stay at a hotel - there are families in Kissimmee who take 2-3 boys in their private homes.  They have their breakfasts in with the family but lunch and dinner are as a team.

I did enjoy that part about sailing.....gliding along with no engine noise and no fumes. I took sailing lessons in Toronto....and it is peaceful and quiet on the water, as you watch the cars, traffic, buildings and chaos of the city,......very relaxing.................until the wind comes up and capsizes your little dinghy.

One thing Ty......guys who do boating love their boats...people who don't like boats really don't like them. Musk should work on a battery powered boat.....not sure about recharging stations.

And, talk about cost of gas, I hear a full day of boating can cost $200 or $300 or more worth of gas! Guy buys a car and worries about whether he gets 30 mpg in his car, while his boat is getting 6 mpg.

My Grandfather always had a really nice boat docked off Long Beach Island NJ. I was too young to remember specifics but I know it slept 6 of us and could be driven from inside as well as upstairs on the bridge.

Grandpop was always fixing something or having it fixed, but it was so fun being out on the water. He kept it until he got too old to deal with it.

Boats are fun....someone ELSE'S boat I mean. I had a nice 18-foot wooden runabout I used to run in S.F. Bay. Very pleasant on nice days but generally too small and under powered for the treacherous currents of that body of water. Ate money like a Blue Whale eats krill.

6 mpg for a boat would be really generous.  The offshore boaters will burn through hundreds of dollars in fuel in a day.  Most inland boaters spend more time bobbing in the water than actually on throttle.  A lake day for us costs us about 15 gallons in fuel, but ours are very efficient and modern motors.

A Hobie cat is a small catamaran with no motor and would store in our garage, so that could fit the bill.   Typical sailboats are very heavy and require a full size truck to get them around, but if we were closer to the ocean, that would be more attractive.  Inland with small lakes makes them less practical.  The few around here I see seem to use their motors more than their sails.

There are clubs where you rent someone else's boat. Can work out better than owning in a lot of cases.

Even my Sunfish. By the time I bought a trailer, got a license, insurance, storage, repairs, maintenance I figured it was cheaper and easier to rent when I wanted to go sailing.

The flexible plastic ring that seals the swiveling discharge chute to the body of my snow blower keeps riding up and allowing snow to get underneath the cover. Not a big issue, just thought it would be an easy fix.
Unbolt the cover, reseat the ring, bolt back down. No!
I put the flexible ring back on but things just wouldn't seat correctly.
Turns out when I backed over the snow blower a few years ago, I pulled up one of the bolts holding the bracket that holds down the swiveling chute base.
Since the bolt had been pulled up there was some vertical play in the bracket and the swiveling base was actually riding on top of it instead of underneath.
Not amount of pounding with a hammer could push the bolt back down, so I just ended up super gluing the 'bad' end of the bracket to keep it flat.
The swiveling base also had a chunk broken off, but I found it and super glued that back together, too.
2 hours plus from start to finish. Thought it was going to be a 15 minute job.

nice video. Yesterday there was a piece in the local paper that the guy that owns 2 BHPH lots near me got popped for all kinds of fraud. Usual stuff they still pull. But, like the man said, it's expensive to be poor. And when you combine that with buyers who are also not very smart, zero math skills, and no common sense, and it is a recipe for disaster.

Indeed! We used to sail out of Coconut Grove, FL. (42/45 ft) back in the day. Park it, clean up your mess, hose it off, sail another day.

I’m not sure why we even did that, as for work, we had access to nearly anything, canoe on up. (early days of asset confiscation days, & fed, state, county, city & naval support)

for the Tesla fans, I stopped at a local outdoor upscale mall today (TJC would know the place). They have LL Bean, Apple store, Orvis, sur la table, and a bunch of restaurants. So, not cheap stuff. Had to park around the side, and noticed they installed a supercharger station. I counted 11 "pumps", so pretty good size. About 2 today, fairly busy in the center, there were 3 cars parked at them. A type S, a Jeep Patriot, and a Sonata. I don't think the Tesla aficionados would be too fond of those last 2. Not an issue at the time, but I would be ticked if I followed instructions to get to a charger, to find a non-Tesla hogging it. But, public parking lot, I doubt they can do much about someone parking there?
