dealer says the new "m" model will ultimately replace the i35 because infiniti wants to exit the fwd market and concentrate on rwd and awd (skyline??) entries.

As for the blue color, I posted the only two shots that i have of that color on the G35 Yahoo group. I HOPE that this dark color blue is what we will be getting here in the US.

http://www.webtick.com/igorsush/gloria.htm M45 looks pretty much like this. The one I saw was black on black. It looked much better in person. Interior volume is similar to G35. Should be priced around $40k base.
1. He says March 11 is when the ports will release the cars (in the u.s.) and dealers won't have them on their lots for a couple of days after.
2. He was told that Infiniti will be offering a 39 month lease, 12,000 miles with a .58 residual and 2.7% financing. That would put payments in the mid $400's with nothing down.
3. He highly recommended the sport package. I guess they drove several models on a test track and then drove competitors cars(IS300,Jag X 3.0, Audi A-4). He said the Sport pkg was awesome.
The guy was just so excited. I guess after selling G20's for so many years he's got something to get pumped about.
I'm pumped about that lease deal.
It is everything and more than you have been hearing . Had the roof opened the Bose blaring and I was in heaven. And I made the right colour choice. The black is awesome, just have to tint the windows. You had to see me with the cop, I am sure he stopped me more for the car than for the 100 mph I was doing. I swear I am going to screw up the break in, you cannot drive this machine slow , it is not possible.
You don't remember what RPMs it was doing, do you?
Congrats.

Ok gota go thanks for all the good wishes will try to post something tonite, many miles later
and take your car for a spin. we could trade for a day.
sounds pretty nice. first one on the road? NICE!
enjoy.
but not too much. you don't want to be the owner of the g35 to hit 10 speeding tickets first, do you?
By the way, send us a pic of your new babe!
I laugh at the BMW bashing or the BMW envy. Take your pick. The G35 and 330I are both great cars. I didn't buy the Bimmer because it is the fastest car on the road. I bought it for a combination of looks, handling and the BMW name, which is synonmous with high-performance luxury sedans - that BMW has stood for since day 1. I like the 3 years of included maintenance. I like the fact I don't have to bring it back to the dealer for another 14,500 miles. I like the fact when I step on the gas it goes, no questions asked. It doesn't matter how much one costs, you'll buy it if it's the car for you. The G35 is not a second runner-up for BMW wanna-bees and it probably is not going to unseat the 3-series. However, it's a great car in another class. BMW isn't standing still either with plans for enhancing it's product line.
You want a Bimmer than go get one and enjoy, you want a G35 get one and enjoy it as well. Good car shopping and driving.
This board won't let me post an URL longer than 115 characters, so here's the link to the thread. Scroll all the way down and you'll see the pix of a silver G35.

I'm Canadian & have friends who live up home, so there are ways to buy a car in Canada that retains its warranty, and might also be eligible for provincial & VAT refunds. Don't give up. If you have friends in Canada with an address that you can put on the paperwork, just stroll into the dealer and buy the thing like you live there. Pay whatever you need to to get the Ontario or BC (or whatever) plate, then deal with transferring it later.
On another topic, if any of us thinks the "G" will make a difference to those who buy BMW's (or Audi's, Mercs, Lexi or whatever, for that matter) for status, please get real. The folks who are impressed by badges are only moderately swayed by data -- many of them seek approval, and will rip the lips off anyone who points it out.
I could be wrong.
Haven't been in the past, where status-seeking/social-climbing are involved.
Stay tuned.
Um, no. BMW built airplane engines, hence the blue sky with the white propellor.
Sounds like deja vu with Infiniti/Nissan doesn't it?. Maybe now is when Infiniti takes over the reputation as the high-performance sports sedan brand.
Go figure.

Can you say G35 coupe 6 speed vs M3? Get your money ready. You can buy three G35 coupe for the price of two M3.
Please post how the G35 handles in snow when (or if) you get the chance.

Take one example. Nissan has some proud heritage. The Datsun 240Z certainly is a classic. Interestingly enough, this great car's exterior design was by Albrecht Goertz, who worked in the 1940s under the great American designer Raymond Loewy (who had famous ties to Studebaker). Prior to his 240Z design, Goertz won accolades in the 1950s designing the exteriors of the magnificent BMW 507 roadster and 503 coupe. But take the time to compare the looks of the 507 and 503 to the magnificent 1930's BMW 328 roadster.
If there had been no 328, would there have been a 507? Without a 507, would there be such a beautiful 240Z? Look at some pictures of these magnificent cars and you might appreciate what a sense of heritage can do to designers.
(Yes, BMW did nearly collapse financially in 1959. Bavarian government, big German banks, and MB interested in taking over much of its equity. However, the BMW stockholders rejected the restructing and the wealthy Quandt family took an important equity and managerial interest in BMW, preserving its independence. But even in its darkest days in late 50s & early 60s, BMW was building beautiful V-8 cars like 502, 3200S, and 3200CS coupe. Not sure there was ever a time since BMW's first original design, the 303 in 1933, that BMW built run-of-the-mill cars.)
Nothing personal...David
