I've had my 02 CR-V EX Auto for a month now so this is limited info compared to many others on this board.
CR-V Noise: Our last car was a 98 nissan maxima and while the V is not a quiet as that car it is quite acceptable to us at any speed on any surface. In fact this subject has never come up between us?
CR-V vs Forester: The Sub has a better AWD system, handles slightly better and has a very good build quality. CR-V has a slightly larger more flexible interior, good AWD system and superb build quality and resale value.
CR-V vs RAV4: The RAV4 was very nice in all aspects except for two. Too small and too under powered. That eliminated it for us. BTW my other vehicle is a 99 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 which I love!!!
The other vehicle we compared it to was the Ford Escape (For detailed comments see CR-V vs Escape forum) but, in a nut shell Honda's build quality was superior and the Escape's V6 offered NO advantage over the V's 4. Concluded this after three back to back test drives.
Just take your time and get the vehicle that best suits YOUR needs. For us that was the V.

Paulo - You might try asking your questions in the main CR-V thread on the SUVs board. It has a higher read-through rate.
More difficult to install a child seat too. (A concern for me.)
I like that the seats in the rear of the V recline. While the seats recline in the Forster, the sides don't. It's kinda weird.
I love the way the RAV looks but, the flexibility of the V sold me. The walk through feature with a kid on the way was too much to pass up.
I HATE the pattern on the V's seats. Would have loved a Chianti V but the beige fabric made me want to puke.
Crash results and resale were also a big plus for the V.
I was really disappointed the Sub didn't get better mileage. I figured I'd forego some comfort and convienince for MPG but, the RAV, V, and Sub were all about the same.
Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong.
If you are concerned about road noise then try to get the dealer to put something different beside the Duelers (I do hate these tires but since they don't bother my wife and she is the primary driver...I plan to change them before 30K for sure) on it before you buy. If it is a dealbreaker they might do it.
1 The reports on road noise are correct. We do find them noisy.
2 The reports on poor traction are TOTALLY WRONG.
A couple of weeks ago, I posted that after talking to our local tire shop, he said that these were very good traction tires. After the last couple of days, he is 100% right. They are probably one of the better all season traction tires that I have had. I am starting to thing he was right, when he said, that the reason people rate them as poor traction, is because since they are a noisy tire people right away don't like them, so they rate them poor on everything. I guess we rate tires like we rate politicians!!!
