However i think u missed my point- that is the VW logo is the largest on the Front grille of any car.
Yep, the rear has a few contenders like MB or Caddy, but no one can compete VW for the front grille
We forwarded each and every comment, about the MAZDA6 build
combinations, to those people who make the decisions about product
planning.
The Product group has just added six new build combinations for the
MAZDA6. Of these six new codes, four are aimed directly at meeting
customer requests for greater availability of ABS/TCS on the Mazda6i.
These new combinations are currently scheduled to be part of December's
production run for January 2003 availability.
Here are the details about all six new buildable combinations:
- The new combinations allow you to configure a MAZDA6i with ABS/TCS
only (both MT and AT).
- We also have a new combination for a MAZDA6i AT with Premium Package
only.
- For enthusiast customers who highly value safety, we will now offer
a MAZDA6i MT with the Premium Package, ABS/TCS, and SAB/SAC.
- We have also listened to customers? requests to expand Sport Package
availability.
- We have added a build combination that creates a MAZDA6i MT with
only Premium Package and Sport Package.
- The sixth additional combination is a MAZDA6i AT with Premium and
Sport Packages, ABS/TCS, and SAB/SAC.
Notes:
MT/AT = Manual/Automatic Transmission
ABS = Anti-lock Brake System
SAB/SAC = Side Air Bags/ Side Air Curtain
TCS = Traction Control System
We are listening and Mazda is trying to move as quickly as possible,
within the limitation of a complex manufacturing environment, to match
customer desires.
We hope these changes will demonstrate how important your opinions are
to Mazda. The MAZDA6 is a truly awesome car ? we hope you find yourself
in one soon!

The Mazda6 - Mazda's all-new sports sedan! Drive it. You'll know.
That was one heck of thing for its time.....and yeah sure the front logo was bigger than the front
The more safety options available, the better IMO.
Why on earth would you want an intelligent, well informed person who is capable of thinking on his or her feet in office? Smart people are nerds.
I'm curious...
- Excellent engine: Quick, quick, quick. Off the line it was very fast and at speed was a pleasure to flog a bit. It caught me off guard at first when the revs shot up earlier than I expected. Pickup really comes on at 2500 rpm and keeps climbing. Nice throaty sound for a v6 and plenty of power for cruising speed adjustments in 5th gear at even sub-30mpg speeds.
- Overall quality: Honestly, the 6 felt a little like the Audi A4 that I just drove. Solid sound when closing the door; solid feel when driving. Very secure. Seams were tight and noticed no cliks, creaks or odd noises when driving.
- Driver comfort. I'm 5'11" and felt perfectly comfortable in both the front and back seats. Lots of shoulder/leg/head room. Good driving position. Armrests were well positioned and felt good when either shifting aggressively or just cruising. Seats felt a bit firm, but were supportive. One complaint, the door armrest was bit hard. Wondering if the leather versions will be more "cushy". Outside noise was mimimal and hard acceleration let the engine sing enough to be heard for feedback yet not overwhelming.
- Shifting and braking: Clutch feel and action was good. Smooth transitions from gear to gear. Brake had good feel too. Braking power was easy to gauge and apply. Shifter was a little notchier than I expected, but not too bad. Shifter felt great in my hands.
- Ride: felt a touch firm on bumps, but not uncomfortable. Not a lot of body roll except on the most aggressive lane changes... felt the rear-end lean out a bit more than it should. Maybe it's the size or the fact it's a front-wheel drive.
Other cars on my list are the Grand Am GT, WRX and A4, but the A4 may have just been eliminated and the 6 may have just hit the top of the charts.

congratulations Mazda!
Man, I think I have a lot more knowledge on the 6 than the sales guys... i cannot believe he said the 6 had been around in europe for more than 3 yrs....
I've been trying to find either trim level with the Sport Pkg, just to check it out, and they are very few and far between here in NY. After talking with dealers, it sounds like the first round will have only the sport pkg only on the "s" (b/c of the 17" wheels), and it'll have to be a fully loaded car, w/ leather, moonroof, etc.
I'd like to get an auto with just the sport (or if I get an "i", w/ the premium pkg, too). I want to know if this will be possible.
Can anyone help??
Thank you.
I test drove a Mazda6s with the sport package and cloth seats here in Minneapolis. I don't see how they would be any more rare in NY.
If you have not had the chance to read it yet, check it out ... they liked it!
To me, the 6 looks MUCH smaller in person. I couldn't believe how small the cars were. Styling is nice, but it's not as nice as I thought it would be. I still think the Altima looks the best, but the 6 is a close second.
Interior materials were nice, better than any Altima, but they aren't as good as the Honda Accords or VW Passats. The Camry has slightly better materials IMO. The Maxima beats them all, with the exception of the Passat.
I will definately consider the 6, but I still don't see the build combination that I want.
I want the 6s with ABS, SABs, Roof, Leather, Comfort, Auto mirror with homelink, BOSE and rear mudguards with MT. I bet I won't get my wish!
Still like the styling none-the-less.
I'm getting an auto 6 s w/sport package, BOSE, and SAB's. It's hard for me to imagine that right now it's sitting behind the dealership with a sold sign on it, just waiting for me to come drive it away. So, unless someone buys one this weekend, I will be the first to post an actual owner's driving report
but, with the '89 camry rusting out and thus ready for replacement, the mazda 6 is looking real good...
i'm trying to drag the camry through the winter, though.
If you're willing to let go of Homelink, maybe you can. As for the rear mud guards, that really shouldn't be a problem.
All your other options already exist.

I don't see that option combo on the list for the manual, so I'll guess it's the auto.
I have the entire week off next week, so I hope the 6 comes soon so I can drive it one day next week.
I guess you can't expect many world debuts there, eh Rich?
I'm still waiting for my chance. No 6's here in CO.
Pretty funny, but eventually we will buy cars, rite?
I mean in 5 yrs or so, a 6 could be the car for me - just not yet. Getting a 2nd PRO next yr.

I go to "Contact Us" to confirm and complain and there is no email address, just a phone number and a snail mail address. Sigh...
