Swedes don't have car jacking.
That's very true. I have driven in every country in Western Europe, and car Jacking is not a worry at all. It's the crazy drivers in the southern countries that are the worry.
You mean the Aussies?
Thanks to everyone who answered my many questions
No, the southern Europeans.
Thanks
Everything else is still available.
I'm visiting the US, and this is my 12th time here...
I have noticed that you americans have different level of octane in the gasoline here than in Europe.
Anyway, I give my XC90 the best gas, "98" ... But can you explain for me why you guys here have lower octane in the gasoline thatn home, or is it just a different scale?
Gasoline here; 87, 89 and 93
In Sweden (europe); 93, 95 and 98
I had the same problem when I purchased my T6 AWD.. When you push the lock button all doors gets locked right?
But you can open the doors from the inside by pulling the door handle, but not from the outside, thats because of the safety reasons. (because if you crash so you can quickly get out of you vehicle)
There's a little switch on on the door if you open it, the switch is located next to instruction panel, you know what I mean? The Child-lock switch.
I love my Volvo, it's the best SUV I've ever driven=)
In the states they display the RdON (Road Octane Number) that is an average of the RON and MON (Motor Octane Number).
Octane ratings based on:
RON – easy driving
MON – high speed
And those numbers are based at sea level, so the higher you go, the lower the numbers will be.
But diesel is much cleaner in Europe
Volvo will be debuting their bluetooth adaptor, but it won't work on the XC90 or S40.
I'm hooked on the XC90 for 2006. I want satellite navigation and I can get a nicer one after-market: Pioneer AVIC-N2. In looking at the interior of the XC90, it doesn't appear that installing after-market navs (or audio for that matter) will be a simple affair. There doesn't seem to be a place to put it. Does anyone know what adapter would be used for an XC90 for after-market navs/audio installation?
I just contacted GEICO to get a quote for full coverage on a XC90 V8. They quoted $1153.50 semi annually!! I live in the Washington DC Metro area: Prince George's County to be exact. My wife and I haven't had a speeding ticket or moving violation in over 15 years. My last accident was 5 years ago. Even then, the person backed his suburban into me! The vehicle would be in a garage kept. What are the rest of you paying for your XC90's?
tidester, host
Thanks
The car has a dust and pollen filter that needs to be replaced every 15,000 miles or so.
IAQS is a sensor located in the cabin air intake. It monitors for carbon monoxide and other toxic gases and automatically closes the external vents in the event that such gases are detected in amounts considered unhealthy.
Once the air outside is considered safe, the external vents are re-opened.
AFAIK there is no way to get the horn to beep when you lock the car.
Thanks
Guess the EPA is slowly coming around.
We were returning mid 20's @ 70mph on the track in Dec.
quick question: i can't seem to figure out what the top section of the rear side tail lights does. i have looked for answers online and found nothing. i assume that they are just there for reflection. anyone know?
Why would you go till you only had one gallon left? Or until your miles till empty reads zero? Aren’t you risking stranding yourself?
If you question is how big is my fuel tanke it’s probably 21 gallons, but I’d follow the fuel indicator for fillups.
Am I wrong in thinking that an AWD is not completely necessary in that it does not help me stop any better. I understand that it can help me out of a large snow drifted road. But really, if this vehicle can not pull me along with the 2 front wheels on pavement, its probably a blizzard and I ain't driving anyway. In other words, I will be doing normal driving, no dirt road stuff. Don't misunderstand me I know AWD is better that FWD, but in every day driving isn't most power to the front wheels anyway. If it could help me stop in an emergency I would be all for it. My FWD volvo sedan has always served me fine in the last 10 years of north east winters. Any thoughts??
I also am looking for 7 passenger. Is that a rarity in 2.5 FWD? or does not make a difference?
Any thoughts would be appreciated as I begin my search.
We sell a bunch of them here in the southwest.
The price difference between the two is only @ $1800.
Down the road resale will be better in your area w/ the AWD.
You are correct in saying that AWD won't help you stop any better, it will help you go better, esp in snow.
Keep in mind that the XC90 is alot heavier than a Volvo sedan, anywhere from 1,000 to 1500 lbs heavier. Pulling this extra weight in snow could be more difficult.
Thanks
That means my Thule Evolution box with the Quick-Snap attachment system will work with the wing bars which I think look nicer and are probably quieter than the square bars. The U-bolts for the box have a 3 1/4 inch opening.
Is Lev still out there? He hasn't posted anything is quite a while.
i believe all your comments re awd vs fwd are right on.
as for 7 passenger, i think there are plenty of those around ! cheers...
