I will be replacing my 05X Goodyear RSA's with the Cooper or the Avon when it is time!! I don't believe the Goodyear is necessarily the better tire. I have had some experience with the Cooper on a Chrysler LHS. Nice riding and handling tire, with very good wear characteristics.
If I can order from tirerack I like the Kumho ECSTA ASX, they get good ratings and are $111. I didn't see the cooper on their site though.
You can buy the film in bulk on the Xpel web site.
Try http://www.xpel.com/products/bulk.asp

Thanks. gil20
I know you can get the skyline strips. maybe you can also get the Infiniti strips. If you do, please post here and let us know.
it has reached deep. Deep enough for scratch removers to not work.
Is there a way to fill this up with some kind of protective coating so water doesnt
get inside and start peeling/rusting around this scratch (crack in the paint)?
In my previous car, I used 104+ to amp the octane in my gas a bit. It had a noticeable impact on the responsiveness of the car. Any experiences with these here? Any reason to think it wouldn't be safe to use?
Thanks!
THANK YOU.
It would be most appreciated if you did not use all capital letters. It is very difficult to read and appears as though you are SHOUTING.
Thanks for your cooperation!
Remember to check your tires when they are cold. If the pressure is low and you drive the car first, the sidewalls will flex more, creating heat and raising the pressure. You will then get a higher pressure reading, but not one you want. The higher temperature will cause the tires to wear faster.
Also, remember that tire pressure goes up one pound for every 10 degrees of ambient temperature rise, so check your tire pressure often as the winter approaches. If your tires were at 33 pounds when it was 75 degrees out, they will be at 28 pounds when it is 25 degrees out.
Thanks
What is the recommended tire pressure for 2003 G35
30 - 33 lbs, depending on model - tires) it is on the sticker inside driver's door.
Has anyone found a way to get rid of scratches on the black door "sills"
If it is the alunimum then there is a film, peel it & apply a new one such as 3 M (easy to do your self). If it is the plastic, use black shoe polish.
I already have a small but noticable paint chip on the hood. it's not so much a chip that it is a deep small scratch. However, it has reached deep. Deep enough for scratch removers to not work.

Touch up paint to color match & fill, just dab it a& let it fill the hole.
Has anyone used Wheel Wax on their wheels in order to alleviate the brake dust problem?
Any wax helps, I use car wax. The problem is far less on the 05's.

Might void your warranty, there is something in the manual about not adding any engine additives including fuel injector cleaner.
HI! I REALLY WANT TO WORK ON MY NEW G35 BUT I'M LITTLE WORRY ABOUT WARRANT.IF I DO THE ALL THE WORK MY SELF (OIL CHANGE ,15.30.45K SERVICE) WHAT I HAVE TO DO AND WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
Keep all your reciepts along with a log indicating the date, & mileage, as long as you used the right oil & filter no problem.
Just bought a 2005 G35 sedan, RWD, A/T but it came without splash guards. I would like to get splash guards to protect the paint. Does anyone know if these are easy to self-install. the Infiniti web site claims that splash guards have "no drill" install. I would appreciate any info from someone who has installed these.
Easy to install, you have to drill 1 hole on each side. You order them color coded, they are not usually a regular item. On e-bay I have seen them in the US for $80.00. My dealer sold them to me for $200.00 for four. I also put a piece of 3 M along the bottom of the side behind the splash guards on the front.
Hope that helped a couple people.
Just two weeks ago, I was at the dealer (Pepe) for service and asked one service consultant about solutions to brake wear problems. He gave me some song and dance about how they now have to use semi-metallic pads because of the asbestos problems of old pads and they have no solution to the dust problem.
Last week I had to go back and spoke to another consultant in casual conversation regarding brakewear, as I had to have pads & rotors replaced (warranty)at 7K mi. He said that (NY)city driving eats pads and that the rotors are too thin (to save unsprung weight) to cut. He also said that Infiniti will replace them free up to 3Y/36K, then they're on me. Additionally, I asked about using different pads to alleviate the brake dust, and he suggested caution be used in choosing alternative pads because they might have a "cheese-grater" effect on stock rotors.
Back in the '80s, my then mechanic said that this was a big problem with the European cars of that time.
PS: snowy Apple yesterday and I noticed a little intermittent sort of burning smell on the way to work. I thought that it may be from the brakes because of the VDC so I turned VDC off and smell went away. Just a little slippin' and slidin' with my 14k (7/32) RS-A's.
1. is it really necessary to get 15000 service or i can just have oil changed from dealer and inspect all the fluid levels myself.
2. if i dont get it, will it void my warranty.
3. if i have to go for the 15000 service, which one should i pick, premium maintenance, schedule 1 or schedule2.
thanks for the reponse
This is my first Infiniti and I plan to do the same.
Anyoen have the wheel lock accessory that Infiniti sells? Specifically the for the G35 Coupe. Are they built to offer more security for Rims/Wheels? Seems like a good buy for 30 bucks. Thanks.
thinking of Waxing the car at a detail center.
Any Pros or Cons of waxing a new car.
How long it last.
What price range should I be looking at.
Last time I wax/leather treatment my new maxima at the dealer cost me $500. Certainly I dont want to go that route.
Looks like they owe me a refund. Have to get working on that this week.
Thanks for the info.

I want it to be a surprise, so I can't just ask her what her pressure is, and b/c she's obsessive-compulsively afraid of losing her keys, I can't get ahold of them while she's visiting to sneak a peak at the doorjam.
Anyone tempted to tell me to review the board, please know that I've checked it, but got confused by the posters who discussed keeping at a pressure in excess of the recommended - I just want to kow the recommended pressure. Thanks.
and scratched the area near the ignition key. The scratch is not deep but it shows up as a white line. Is there something that can remove this scratch?
Can anyone give me some advice on how to fix this? Should I go to a body shop or can the infiniti dealers fix it?
I want to fix it while the car is still new so the paint match is easy.
Is the car suppose to ride like that ? My 2002 Nissan Maxima SE drives much smoother to me.
And I also noticed that the car while driving had a burnt oil smell, as if it had to much oil in the engine.
Has anyone else experienced this ? or the ride ?
If you live in the snowbelt, be prepared to buy a new set of wheels and snow tires for the winter months. The Potenzas are terrible in the snow/ice, and it is next to impossible to find 19" snow tires to fit.
Sorry to hear of all these paint chip problems. I got the 06 Coupe in Diamond Graphite. Have a small scrath on the hood but thats about it. Probably from a truck. I am keepin an eye out on it though with all these posts.
