Can anyone tell me if this is good deal?

    08 G35X with nav + sport package
    39 months / 15k
    $0 + taxes + fees = $2648 at signing

How forgiving is Infinity when you returning lease?

    Thank you

standard NY stuff 60 buck to transfer plates 12.50 tire fee and 50 doc fee for doing the paper work which is still crap but acceptable. go to bankrate.com and use the calculators it will compare the savings, but I agree with your husband its almost a wash and its always harder to put money back in the bank than take it out.

One interesting thing to consider is by taking the cash and using a higher finance rate say 4.9 low 5's you owe less money for the first 12-15 months if you wanted out of the car.

I paid cash to buy a G35x w/ Prem+Nav+Tech for $33.25K + TTL. I was told that title will be mailed to me in a couple of weeks. Can anyone share their experience on how long it took to get the title ? Thanks !
  • rhard49rhard49 Member Posts: 226
On my last two cars it was pretty consistant just under 90 days, I'm in NY I don't know if it varies state to state. Our prices were very similiar mine was 1100 less without the tech which is I believe the techs price.

I just took delivery of mine and have a question on the manuals were yours in any kind of case, mine were just piled in the glove compartment and the trunk, my last infiniti they were in a nice leather case. I also had some other delivery issues with no one in the show rooms you'd think they'd go over everything top to bottom.

Thanks for your input, I am in CT so not sure if it is any faster to get the title. But I do remember the salesman saying it may take a few weeks.
Yes, my manuals came in a leather case. I was overall happy with the way they delivered my car, but they did add $189 as documentation fee that I was not too happy with.

Hello, if anyone is looking to lease a new 2008 G35 in Texas....you should look to Austin Infiniti. I had been comparing lease deals at dealerships in Houston, DFW, San Antonio, and Austin for a couple of months. This weekend I closed the deal at Austin Infiniti on a Journey w/ Premium, Navigation, and Sport packages. It also has splash guards, a trunk mat, and a cargo net. The MSRP on the car is $40,085, the invoice is $36,508, and my sell price was $35,755 (or $753 under invoice). This was the best deal I received. The MF was .00062 and the residual was 52%. I did a 36 month lease at 15K miles a year. I drove from Houston to take delivery of the vehicle and was in/out of the dealership in an hour. Best car buying experience yet. If you are interested, send me a note and I'll give you the internet sales person I used (come on, I could use the referral $$ in time for Christmas!). She was extremely patient (I ask a ton of questions!) and was a pleasure to deal with. Also, when leasing this car in Texas (not sure if this applies in other states) through the month of November, there is no state sales tax! Makes quite a difference.

And did I mention, I love the car!? What a blast to drive!

Only a person that bought a car in your state could answer that question.

What is the monthly payment on that deal?
  • cadenheadcadenhead Member Posts: 25
I intentionally left that out as it is sort of irrelvant. The reason I say that is because I had to roll $2,500 of negative equity into the lease because of my trade-in. My Honda seemed to be fetching anywhere from $13K to $16.5K at various dealerships. Austin Infiniti gave me $16,500 (also the highest of offers for my trade-in) and I owed $19K.

My payments on the lease are $508/mo. Again, that includes $2,500 of negative equity. If you don't have a trade-in, you'll be able to do much better. Keep in mind, this is for an almost fully loaded model (Premium, Sport, and Navigation packages)...$40,085 MSRP @ 36 months and 15K miles a year. To put things in perspective, $508/mo. was close to the best quote I received at other dealerships on this model without introducing my trade-in "negative equity"!

I just got 08 G35X Sport with Prem + Nav + 2 years free service with 36months/15k for $485 a month with taxes and fees at signup ($2650 in NY).
Talk to your dealer - I think that they can do better...

Cadenhead, i was wondering how you got the MF so low. I thought it was going for .00098? Also, in your selling price that you state is only $1,000 in rebate reflected. Thanks.

Cadenhead, could you please email me at ddp684@gmail.com and let me know who you worked with at Austin. Thanks.

Just closed on a 2008 G35 RWD Sedan Journey with Premium, Navigation, Tint, Locks and Splashguard for $32,000 even. Cash deal. Drive out was something like $34,300.

It only took me about 20 trips to the dealership, but I finally got it done! I agreed to a purchase on a 09 G37x sedan.

I have been very frustrated with Infiniti repeatedly moving back the launch date of the G37, now officially in January. I kept going back to the dealer, asking when the 09's would be here, until last week when he told me January. At that time I thought I was done with Infiniti, I was going to get a 335ix or maybe even a Grand Cherokee SRT8 (that would have been a departure from the norm for me!).

Well, on my way to the BMW dealer, I stopped at the Infiniti place one last time. I told the salesman who I had been working with what I was thinking. He had a revelation - you see, he tells me, there are all these cars sitting in the ports waiting to be sold. Imagine (or search for the images online) a sea of cars parked in limbo, waiting for all the 08's to get sold before they can move to their respective destinations. He said they recently spec'ed out an 09 M35, and found one in a port that matched the description exactly. They ordered it, and it they were expecting it in about 2 weeks. He thought we might be able to do the same thing for a G, but let's find out first.

Of course, it was already 6PM when we were talking, so nothing could happen that night. But we spec'ed out my desired vehicle, and he submitted it the next day. Wouldn't you know it - they found one. He said if I want it, I can get it in about 2 weeks. Well, how about that? Tell Infiniti you're going to buy something faster and more expensive than their product, and they bend a few rules for you...

So Tuesday (Nov. 24), I put a $1000 deposit down on a car that isn't available yet, but will be here in two weeks. The specs are black on black G37x sedan, + premium, navi, tech, sport, with illuminated kick plates, splash guards, trunk mat, and trunk cargo net. MSRP = $43,875, my price is $43,700 + TTL. Car is supposed to arrive sometime around Dec. 9. I'm very excited to make this happen. Hopefully everything falls in line the way it's supposed to!
  • rhard49rhard49 Member Posts: 226
But the real question has to be is the 09 G37X worth 9,400 Dollars more than you would pay for a similarly equiped 08 G35X sitting at the same port . Availible or not almost impossible to justify.
  • fornovfornov Member Posts: 34
Fair point, although around here, there is no way I could have got an equally equipped 08 model for 34K. It would have probably been something more like 36.5K, or 7K less, which is of course still significant. I do suspect a good portion of the cost difference will be available on resale. Not only is the 08 a year old, but with the new model change, there will probably be an even bigger year-to-year difference between the two models.

I know I'm paying a premium for the new model that isn't yet widely available. But the more I thought about my options, the more I realized that this is the car I really wanted, and so I went for it. I can afford it, and it's still less than the other vehicles I was looking at. It wouldn't have been smart money to buy a Grand Cherokee SRT8 either, but it sure would have been fun.

I agree isn't wanting something a bitxx, I've done it many times myself. Enjoy it :)

we are in the ny/nj metro area. a local dealer quoted $35.7K for an '08 g35 AWD with premium & nav. with 0.9 financing. this includes destination but NOT taxes, bank fee for $500, and DMV. does anyone out there think we can do better?
    thanks
  • ftamftam Member Posts: 9
I want to buy the 2008 G35X with Premium and Navigation package. There are a lot of dealers in the area and inventories appear high. I need a reality check about prices. given the 4K incentives, I am thinking that 33K+TTL is a good target for the vehicle w/ premium and nav. Is this on target or am I missing something? Thanks.
  • rhard49rhard49 Member Posts: 226
I just bought the same car G35x with premium, nav cargo net and splash guards. I picked it up tuesday from competition infiniti in Smithtown. I paid 35101 with the .9 percent financing including destination there was no bank fee, and there is no bank fee with the infiniti financing. I paid just the normal transfer of plates fee about 60 in NY and a 45 documentation fee which I thought was crap but paid anyway plus taxes. They threw in wheel locks for free. I would highly recommend them. I had some minor delivery issues but they were resolved satisfactorily, I attribute them to me pushing for delivery. Email me I will give you the salesmans name my email shows if you log in and mouse over my id
  • rhard49rhard49 Member Posts: 226
Just my 2 cents I ended up at 35101 with the .9 or 32101 if I took alternate financing or paid cash.

    tanjak,
So what's the status on your '08 acquisition? Any dealers you would recommend in the So Cal area? I am in interested in picking up an '08 or '09 G sedan. I sometimes wonder if several of us banded together to go into a single dealership, if we get even greater deals. Hmm...
  • redline122redline122 Member Posts: 67
I don't think that is accurate that dealers will not get the G37. I went to a dealership a couple of weeks ago and was able to test drive both the G35 and G37. Both were identical in packages and color. The only difference was the wheel designs - the '08 G35 sport wheel looks better IMO than the G37 wheel.

i can find a used 08 g35x with 15k-20k miles with premium around 25000 around where i live, and i can see that i can buy a new 08 g35x for 32000-33000 with premium. so my question is is it really worth buying new and pay extra 6000-7000 for 0 miles on the car or save 6 to 7 grand and just buy used. which will be a better buy.

If you think you can save 7K, it's very good deal even if it has 20K miles (as long as it's not been in the body shop).

  • vwasvwas Member Posts: 1
Just picked up an 08 g35x with premium and nav (also cargo nets) for 34K flat plus tax, tag, and title in the SF bay area. Probably should have played harder ball with them ... that was my first offer and they bit on it. I bet you could pick one up for 33.5 or less.
  • g35xsownerg35xsowner Member Posts: 1
picked up g35x premium, sport, nav splash guards/cargo net for cash price of $32,750 + TTL.. if i were to finance through infinity it would have added $3k to the price.
  • michael9999michael9999 Member Posts: 8
i would agree with you its a great price if you got 0.9 financing which is what we are looking for. can you tell me --did you pay cash or go for the 0.9? so far the lowest price i could find in the ny metro area was $35K for g35x with prem & nav and 0.9 financing.
  • michael9999michael9999 Member Posts: 8
    hi,
we were in a metro ny dealer today and it looks like we are ready to buy the g35x. we were suprised that there is no exterior protective trim/molding that comes with the car. the dealer says the cost is around $900+ for exterior protective trim/molding which they can put on the sides and back of the car for us. i think he can probably come down a few hundred $, but does anyone who already bought their g35 have any experience with buying (or not buying) this trim? this is to protect the side doors (and back of car too if you want it for the back) when someone swings open their door, say in the parking lot. i am thinking maybe we could get it done cheaper at a "detail shop" locally.
    thanks
  • ftamftam Member Posts: 9
Hello. I bought the G35X today and got the full molding package. Infiniti has it listed in their aftermarket accessories book for $695 retail. I got it for $475 which they say is their cost. Full package includes moldings for front and rear bumpers, body sides, door edges and wheel wells. I got it because I wanted the protection and think the body sides add to the look of the car. You may want to talk to a local detail shop to see what they can do before you commit. Good luck!

Crossroads Infiniti is offering me the following deal:

    2008 G35 Journey
    $514.00 per month
    $0 Down
    39 month lease

How much lower should I ask them to go on this.

If will take some time to read this forum or any leasing forum you will find that no one can tell whether a lease is a good deal without knowing the price of the car that the dealer is selling you. If you only negotiate the price of a lease payment you open yourself to getting into a bad deal.

    You need:

    Publicly Available Items
    MSRP
    Invoice Price
    Current Manufacturer Residual
    Current Manufacturer Lease Factor

    Items particular to your deal
Selling price (in these car buying times you should be around invoice on most cars)
Lease factor dealer is quoting you (dealers can mark this up)
    Dealer doc fees
Local sales tax, and whether you pay up front or every month.
Out of pocket money up front.

    much lower.
I have been offered the following:
    '08 G35 xs-premium,nav and sport.
    39 months/15k.
0 down-1st month, reg and doc.
    bank fee included in lease.
    $473.43 per month
I am still negotiating and hope to knock a few more $ off payment.
Play hardball-there are more cars than buyers right now

After looking at those big unprotected doors for a week. I called the dealer for mouldings, but I wanted the mouldings on just the sides they charged me 300 for them.
  • tanjaktanjak Member Posts: 8
So I'm pulling the trigger today. Held out for a couple months hoping by December there might be deeper discounts, but this is the best I got in my area--plus there was only one dealership with the color/features I wanted.

Ivory pearl G35 Journey, prem/nav/wood trim/illuminated kick plates (didn't need these but they were already on the car).

$34,500 with 0 down and .9% finanancing. According to Edmunds TMV, it's a couple grand under invoice...

With the help of rhard49 I managed a great deal on my 2008 G35X with premium, navigation, cargo net and splash guard. MSRP was $40230 with destination. Paid $32101 plus tax. Cash deal with no trade-in. Although I was willing to drive 1.5 hr to Long Island for the deal, I got it locally (Northern NJ).
  • cuttycocuttyco Member Posts: 3
Congratulations. I'm also in Northern NJ. Which dealer did you end up buying from?

I bought it from Ramsey Infiniti. If you need the salesman's name, I can provide it. BTW, it is the sedan.

I've offered $31,500(out the door/tax incld.) on an '08 G35 sedan w/premium and sport packages. i'm waiting on the final word from the dealer. so far, the salesman says we're "close." while i realize this is a great price, i'm still shy due to the fact that the 35 will be obsolete. i just wonder how it will effect the resale value??

    what do you think?
