NYS 2015 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD Lease Price Check

For the past 2 Mazda's I've dealt with a dealer who has given me (what I feel) is a good deal. It usually came after talking to the competing Mazda dealer. So this time I went straight to them and I feel like the lease price is still a little high so I could use a sanity check. What complicates this is that I have 4 payments on the current lease and that's being "taken care of"; not sure if that means it's a Mazda authorized pull ahead or if it's just tucking it back into the cap cost.

MSRP - Not sure; Edmund's says $29,660
Lease Term - 42 months
10K miles /year
residual - $14,734
New York State taxes - 8.75%

The monthly lease price quoted is $359/mo. This includes the 4 Mazda6 payments of ($329/mo), all taxes, fees, etc, EXCEPT first month payment. Appreciate the feedback!

First.. you should make sure your quote is on the correct vehicle, because that residual amount would assume an MSRP of $27,800, not $29,660.

The correct numbers for that model are .00036 MF and 53% residual for 42 months, 10K/yr. There is $450 lease support on this vehicle, as well. Although I personally don't like to lease for that long, the 42 month term is a really good program on this model.

To get to $359/mo, we have to assign a CAP cost of $29,150.
Assume $1300 for tax, $595 for acq.fee, $400 title/registration, $1300 to eat your payments.. That's $3500 in extras, leaving a selling price of around $25,550.

All estimates, because you didn't bring those numbers with you...

Even considering the lease support, that's $1800 off MSRP... Not bad on a new 2015 model. Of course, the $1300 you are eating on your old lease isn't helping. Why not wait until that lease is up?

Thank you so much for the feedback. Together with your analysis and an old lease agreement I was able to figure out how the whole leasing setup works! I feel much more comfortable about how to arrive at a good lease price now.

That being said, it appears that they are making a lot of their money on the rent charge. Would you (or someone) be able to provide the following for November for a 42 mo/10K miles/2015 CX-5 Touring AWD/NY state:
Incentives: (loyalty, lease cash,etc.)
Money Factor
Residual

I'm just wondering if anything has changed and what I can expect from the dealer.

.00036 and 49% for 42/10.

36/10 numbers are better at 53% and .00001 - that's .024% interest.

$925 lease cash.
