I am so tired of pouring money into this truck on issues that shouldn't be occurring. I love this truck and hate it at the same time. I have replaced 4 coil packs within a 1 year period. Replaced catalytic converters and some other converter, replaced the thermostat this week and get that steering problem finally fixed in 2 weeks. But now the struts are going out.....and I have been informed we are looking at estimated $1000 to get it fixed...so I am not a happy camper. I want to trade it but I still owe $15000.00 and I don't like anything on the market really. What is a nice, safe, RELIABLE vehicle these days??? I just need a reliable car. I am open to suggestions...I love everything about the Enclave except it is an electrical nightmare!!!

I know how you feel somewhat, just brought my enclave in service on 12/24/2014 for a leak, i don't know if it is comming from the rack or power sterring lines, but it left a big stain on the carport. I just got this car out of service 3 months ago with problems with the rack brushing which gm paid half for the repair bill, but my car is only 4 and 1/2 years old with 41,900. I wonder if this going to be a on going problem, i'm glad i have a extended warranty until 100,000 miles or5 years. If i was you i would go to carchex and paid the 2,500.00 Warranty which will cover most thing on this car, just my thought. I hope to keep this thing until 100,000 and trade it in on a honda or toyota, i never had all of these problems with the import like this buick and the funny thing is that it is a nice riding car that honda nor toyota can touch, but they have the most dependable cars i hate to say that.

JUST GOT THE UPDATE, TRANSMISSION LINE HAS A LEAK, RACK IS LEAKING FLUID ALSO ON A CAR THAT HAS 41,900 MILES REPAIR BILL ABOUT $1500.00 BUT I HAVE TO SEE WHAT GM IS GOING TO PAID PLUS CALL MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY TO SEE WHAT'S COVERED, I'M SO GLAD I BROUGHT THAT WARRANTY 3 MONTHS AGO. I DIDN'T HAVE FAITH IN MY CAR SO I TOOK THE $2500.00 HIT FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 5 EXTRA YEARS OR 100,000 MILES, WE AS BUICK OWNERS SHOULD HAVE TO THINK LIKE THAT AFTER PAYING FOR A CAR THAT COST $48,000 DOLLARS.

How many miles on your Enclave? If under 80,000, the catalytics should fall under the Federal emissions warranty, so no pay out for you. The coil pack failures are inexcusable. As for the struts, most cars need 'em after 80,000 miles or so.

My 2009 Buick Enclave failed its inspection because of the catalytic converter. It has 66,000 miles on it. My mechanic said it's a very expensive fix but that it is covered by warranty. Is it, even though the vehicle is more than 5 years old? ps. it failed in May 2014, just 5 years old at the time. This is after numerous oxygen sensor issues that keep coming up, no matter how many times they are 'fixed'.

Yes it should be. Here's the scoop directly from the EPA. Your owner's manual also has instructions for applying for this warranty.

    Federal Emissions Warranty

The dealers all fully support the emissions warranty and there is nothing that you need to do in order to have this repaired. But there is something else that has to be considered. There are many times that the manufacturers find issues with the onboard tests and these are solved with software updates. Has anyone check to see if the vehicles software is fully up to date? As far as theO2 sensor issues, exactly what has been done and why? What codes were setting and were the parts installed aftermarket or original equipment?

Just purchased a 2008 Enclave with 113000 miles on it, I took it for inspection and it has oil leaks in the front timing cover, the rear seal and is leaking in the steering gear. The dealer (Perry Buick in Norfolk) is charging me a ridiculously high amount of money to repair these leaks: $3000, Other than that I will need to replace struts ($650) and axle ($650). I should say that I feel like the dumbest person in the world for having purchased this car. I have a Hyundai with more than 1700000 miles and none os f this issues.

What is your advise? What should I do?

How bad are these leaks? Personally I could live with a small oil leak on a 7 year old car--but if it's leaving puddles in your driveway or garage floor that's not a good sign.

What's killing you is not the simple little seal--it's the labor charges.

Kinda bad luck. Certainly a seal can leak on a car with over 100K on it, and the struts can get pretty weak on most cars at that mileage---but having all these things happen together is hard to take, I agree.

Any chance you could get a second opinion perhaps from an independent shop, on these repairs?

If your buying a used vehicle (any make or model) get it inspected by qualified independent mechanic before you buy it.
