Could you please share the residual, money factor and any incentives for a 36/12000 lease in Ann Arbor, MI for -
    1. 2015 Impreza 2.0i 5-door automatic
    2. 2015 Impreza 2.0i Premium 5-door automatic

I believe the 2016 models come out next month. Is it worth waiting till next month for additional closeout deals/incentives on the 2015 models?

    Thanks!

    1) .00020 MF and 59% residual
    2) .00020 MF and 57% residual

No idea on what might happen next month
Thank you! I looked at current incentives on this model on Edmunds, and it's reporting the following lease incentive on the premium model - $600 dealer contribution and $250 lease cash.

The dealer is currently willing to go about $1000 below msrp ($22,964) on a car on his lot. Is it reasonable to ask him to additionally pass on the savings from lease cash and dealer contribution? I.e. reduce the price a further $850?

No clue on price. Check the Make/Model/Year tabs at the top of the page for pricing information.

Hi, could you estimate a realistic monthly lease for an Impreza premium automatic in Maryland? Assuming the following:
    MSRP = $23,009
Sell price = $21,840 (per True Car)
    36 months
    12,000 miles/yr
    Credit = excellent
    cash/trade down = $2000

    Thanks

    4-door or 5-door?

How is the tax being handled? MD is one of a few states that applies sales tax to the entire selling price. Not sure that the $2000 at signing will cover taxes plus all the other up front costs (bank fee, dealer fee, license costs).

This forum is great, and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it! Here's what I'm looking for:

    2016 Impreza Premium Hatchback Automatic
Burlington, Vermont and Manchester, NH are likely purchase locations
    36mo/10k lease
    $22390 MSRP
At most $21823 sell cost ("employee pricing" …I'm gonna haggle down a bit)
Credit score between 705-720 (depending on where you look)
    ~$2000 on trade-in

Could I please get the MF, residual value, and likely lease payments on this car for the two locations? Thanks!

Here's the latest update. Does this all sound like it jibes? This offer is from Twin City Subaru in Montpelier, VT. We're now looking at a 2015 Impreza Hatchback Premium with CVT and All-Weather Floor Mats added. I think MSRP is $22362.

    Thanks again!
We can sell you the car for $21,447 plus fees. The Net Cap is just under $21,600 and your money factor of .0009 is lower than what Subaru is offering at this point. Discounting the car like we have means that we can show you $1,500 for your trade. Showing you more for your trade against MSRP or a discount off MSRP and less for your trade, the payments come out the same. The payments on the car you are interested in come out to $259 a month with zero down and 10.000 miles a year including fees. We do not sent copies or scan invoices for the purpose of allowing customers to shop our numbers. We do what we can to help customers over the internet because we understand people are busy, but at some point we need to finalize a deal at the dealership so that there are no misunderstandings. I feel we have been helpful and understanding of your situation. Please call me when convenient for you.

Given that I calculated $259/mo before tax and this latest offer shows $259/mo with tax, I think it looks pretty good.

I find it funny that they quote the .00090 MF as "lower than what Subaru is offering" - it's the base rate.

How is the trade equity of $1500 being applied? Up front fees, or is some of it going to cap cost reduction?

Good question there—I'm asking now. Is it better to apply as a cap cost reduction? And is it necessarily better for them to show me more for my trade against MSRP, or a discount off MSRP and less for my trade? I really thought my monthly payments might get closer to $200/mo, but I guess that's not possible with more money down, yeah?

We do not recommend using trade equity as cap cost reduction - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money. Better to use it to cover your up front costs - bank fee, dealer fee, first payment, etc.

Regarding trade value vs. discount, it's all the same in the end.

$200/mo for a Subaru seems pretty unlikely. If not, I would have leased one 2 years ago.

Applying it to the up-front fees, not net cap reduction. And actually, they gave me a MF of 0.0007, so that's a bit lower. It's still a good deal if my monthly payments are $259, right?

Subaru is choosing not to expand production, so I can't say I'm surprised that some models are harder to find than others.

And, I would think that CA is not a primary market for them, either.

This forum has been so helpful.

Can you share the MF and residual for a 2016 2.0i 5 door?

Here is the offer I was given - what would the expected lease payment be?

    MSRP $20,910
    Sales Price $20,000
    3 year/12k miles
$0 down (except 1st month, title, etc.)
    9% sales tax

    $268.78 / month

    Thank you for the help!

    60% and .00070.

Your prices and tax rate calculate to a payment of $250.52/mo.

I would ask the dealer what the net cap cost is - if higher than the selling price, find out what's been added (bank fee, dealer fee, etc.)

    Hi,

    I'm looking for a 2016 2.0i 5 door CVT in MA.

    MSRP = $20590
I want to negotiate to about $19648 (TrueCar Estimate found in my area)
    3 year/12k miles OR 3 year/15k miles (preferred)
$2000 down (what I want to pay to go out the door)

This is my first time car shopping so I kind of want to check my own calculations in accordance with the numbers that have already been presented as well as ask if this deal would even be possible.

    Thanks in advance!!

    36/15 numbers - 58% and .00070. Add 2% for 12K.

Get the dealer to provide you a specific breakdown of the upfront costs.

Using your prices, I get a payment of $236/mo + tax.

Thank you for the information! I'm wondering if I'm using the same equations as you, because I'm getting about $50 less, also without tax. If you don't mind sharing, would you tell me what equations you're using?

Thanks for the response! Yes, that is the same equations I'm using. I'm still getting a $50 difference. Here's my math:

    MSRP = $20590
    Negotiated Price = $19648
    Down Payment = $2000
    Cap cost = $17648

    Residual Value: 20590 x 0.58 = 11942.20
    Total Depreciation: 17648 - 11942.20 = 5705.80
    Monthly Depreciation: 5705.80 / 36 = 158.49
    Interest Charges: 17648 + 11942.20 = 29590.2 x 0.00070 = 20.71
    Monthly Payment: 158.49 + 20.71 = 179.20

So my monthly payments come out to be $179.20 + tax. Please correct me if I'm wrong?

    I agree with your math.

However, I would confirm with the dealer that the entire $2000 up front will go to cap cost reduction. There are other up front costs - bank fee, dealer fee, first payment - that need to be covered as well.

    This forum is incredibly helpful.

I live in northern Virginia and am negotiating a lease on a 2016 5-dr Impreza Sport Premium, w/ CVT. MSRP is 23564, with .60 residual at 14,138.40. They're offering a money factor of .00130, which seems a bit high. The net capital cost is around 23906.72.

The lease term is 36 months at 10K miles/ year.

What do you believe the MF and residual should be?

Thank you in advance for your help.
