I am looking into a leasing a 335i sedan 07.
The internet salesperson at the dealer has quoted MSRP 48120. 15k for 36 months for 586 plus tac (which is 6% in FL) so $621. for monthly pmt.

$2800 due at signing. Includes tax, title, bank fee, tag, and first months pmt. Also they included the GAP insurance.
Should i get it thru them?Aslo the the sales lady said that the bank fee and the gap ins is $825 is this too high?
Can you please tell me how to neg this deal a bit better? Should i get the gap from my own ins co?
Can I offer them 3000 less from the MSRP? thanks so much!!!

This is $1,770 over invoice and the dealer says one reason is that Edmunds invoice amt doesn't include 2 fees the dealer has to pay a) $180 in training and b) $300 in Area marketing co-op fees.

1) Does the training and marketing co-op make sense?
2) Taking those into account the offer is still $1,290 over edmunds invoice.

Any thoughts?

I have heard the marketing fees being called MACO (It might stand for something like Manufacturer Advertising Costs?) I have read somewhere that these fees are legit and every dealer I tried did charge them. Some of the other fees vary from dealer to dealer. I was also charged for training. In addition to training, some will also charge a detailing fee.

Overall, I think you're getting an OK deal although I would be curious to hear what others think. On a 335 I was able to get about $1K over invoice, but it may also vary by region. I am in northern California. I suppose you could also try some other dealerships.

By the way, floor mats are an extra $130. I don't know if they are throwing those in for the price they quoted you.

Depending on what you have to pay upfront, other than taxes, that looks like a good deal..

Is it really a 39 month lease? If so, it must be a special they are running, as the residual is the same as a 36 month lease.

With a trade-in, it's hard to evaluate your lease payment.. We can't tell if you have positive or negative equity in your trade..

I will say that $1000 off MSRP is not a great sale price..

If your numbers come up different from the dealer's numbers, then you have to find out the CAP cost, and a breakdown of what goes into it...

Since they are marking up your MF the maximum amount, then I'd guess that the acquisition fee is marked up to $825, as well.. and, that is probably added on to the CAP cost..

The only thing that looks decent on your deal is the selling price... Even with $3K in negative equity, you should be able to get the price down to around $590/mo. with $1400 upfront..

To get to your payment, the selling price is about $2400 off MSRP.. a pretty good deal..

GAP insurance is included with every BMWFS lease, so there is no reason to go elsewhere.. The $825 is for the acquisition fee that goes to BMWFS. Your dealer has marked up this fee by $200 for extra profit.

Due at signing should be: 1st payment, security deposit, acquisition fee and title/license.. plus maybe tax on the acq.fee. All of that should add up to about $2200. Considering you are in FL, the dealer is probably adding in some sort of dealer fee of around $500, which is pure profit..

Your deal looks good, if you can knock off $600 in upfront money and if it includes a $650 security deposit that you get back at the end of the lease..

Those are legitimate items on the dealer's invoice.. I'd be happier with $500 less.. but, there isn't a lot to play with in the lower MSRP cars..

I'm currently looking into purchasing a new BMW 328xi with the following option

- Auto transmission
- Sparkling Graphite Metallic
- Aluminum Trim
- Premium Package
- Cold Weather Package

I knew the MSRP but I'm wondering if anyone can give me some thought to a reasonable so I know where is my bottom should be?

I'm located in Brooklyn New York and all I got is a lease quote around 599/ month with out of pocket expense of $3754,
(I assume that is cap reduction)

Anyway, I'm not in the market of leasing as I don't have a very good time with my vw lease.

have any of you cross shopped a TL-S and a minimally equipped 335?

my initial wave of emails resulted in some qutoes that made me feel that the TL-S...while cheaper...is not *that* much cheaper than a 335..... given how much more performance the 335 has...the TL-S really ought to be quite a bit less expensive.....

if I was looking at a TL-S vs the 335 with just the sport kit..i wonder how cheap i could get a 335 lease?

The TL-S is directed at a different audience. It's got a lot of gadgets for the money, and a pretty big engine. If you want a performance car, and don't care a great deal about gadgets, the BMW is a better deal, especially if you can do european delivery.

Hey re:328i lease, that sounds a tad steep. I just leased a 328xi in New Jersey (MSRP 40,850) with $3015 up front for all inception fees (and 1st mo payment) for $514.17.mo;, 39 months 15kmi/yr.

I think you can do better.

do the BMW leases work out cheaper if you go 24 months or 36 months?

I've noticed with some manufacturers, the "sweet spot" is a shorter 2 year lease, while with others, the best bang for the buck comes with 36-39 month leases.

I'm interested in a 335, automatic, sport package, paddle shifters, - I can live w/out nav..... and am hoping to get into the car for around $500/month max - including taxes. assume I put down only the minimum drive off... like $1000.

is this possible? the only offers I've received via dealers online has been that if I put down $1000 I'm looking at roughly $600-620/month (that's including tax). these are on cars with the sport package only..minimal options. seems kind of high to me.

Tnx for reply. I also think it is not a great deal that's why I'm posting here. Vista BMW is not famous for giving huge discounts from what I could gather. But they also have a great service dept. and are very close to my house. I know they can do better, I just need to know what would be a fair deal on such car. If anyone else has some input, I appreciate it. BTW it's 328I, Blk/blk, sport, xenon and power seats.

Want some help in figuring out if the quote that i got from the dealer is worth or not? Here are the details:

(Dealer said that they cannot do better than MSRP since this car is hot right now)

Mind you both the payments were made with a huge downpayment which goes in as Cap cost reduction (Which is very stupid cos its like throwing money down the drain) and these numbers dont tally up with the numbers when i run the numbers through BMW website financial calculater. That gives me a much more realistic number of 608, 633 for 3k down and 579,603 for 4k down. Can any one please advice me on this? I want to know what i need to go ask the salesman? I really want to buy this car but i want my payments to stay in the range of lower 600's (i see that most people have achieved that by reading the forum) I would preffer to do 0 down for cap cost and do multiple SD to lower my MF. please help!!!

Usually 36 months is best because the depreciation per year is less than on a 24 month lease.

You will be doing very well to get a 335i sedan for $500 a month with one security deposit. It might be achievable if you put the maximum number down (7) - otherwise expect your monthly amount to be in the mid to high $500's.

After a pleasant tour of all the BMW dealerships in SoCal, here is the best deal I could find on an order that's going to take 2 months to get here:

335Ci with nav+premium+sport+iPod+keyless go @ 750 below MSRP

Does this suck, or am I really getting a deal here?

If you'd be willing to drive a little bit, you should check out Coast BMW in San Luis Obispo. I ordered, and just a week ago picked up, a 328i sedan with nav+premium+sport+cold+comfort+iPod+sirius+automatic for (if I recall correctly) $280 over invoice. That's $3270 under MSRP.

The deal was done completely via email and the guy that helped me was awesome. Very friendly, very straightforward, very honest. It was a pleasure. I live in the bay area so we made a weekend trip out of it. Rented a car, drove down, picked up the BMW, stayed the night and took a nice drive up the coast the following day. And even after all that managed to save a couple hundred bucks off the prices I got from my local dealers.

Drop me an email if you want more details about who helped me. I couldn't be happier, especially after talking to a number of obnoxious and arrogant local BMW dealers.

I think the 330 is worth it. Many people say that you don't "need" the extra horsepower. That is true, but then you also don't "need" a BMW. Every time you step on the accelerator you will be happy you got the 330.

How was the transition from the GMC? I'm moving from a gas guzzling Jeep Grand Cherokee. I've gotten used to that high driving position and I'm worried that I will miss it.

The transition from the GMC to the wagon was pretty good. The first few days were a little weird because I was used to being able to see more, but the trade off was worth it! Not only are we saving money on gas - now we can maneuver through traffic a lot quicker! I actually feel a lot safer in the BMW even though it is not as big. Good luck!

Does anyone have any idea of the approximate price increase in the 2008 328i coupe? I have a quote on the 2007 that is great, but since there are no 2007's being made any longer, I have to wait for a 2008. I am deciding if it might be worthwhile to look at a 528i if the price goes way up on the 328.

A local dealership (in the San Diego region) told me you can only get 2007 335 convertibles for no better than $250 below MSRP. Is this consistent with dealerships in other parts of California?

how does the interior look? look around the windows and door seals, see if they are loose, how long has this car been sitting outside? If it has been for a long time chances are it is not in perfect condition, rubber seals will be coming loose. The big concern I have with this car is that since it has a navigation system it has IDRIVE and although BMW has improved the system, many people do not like it. Both Mercedes and Audi have similar systems which are much easier to operate. Although 28995 seems like a pretty good deal, the price seems sort of low, which means 1 of 3 1) previous owner was a bmw exec and got rid of the car after 2 yrs, 2) this car had some real problems, 3) it has been sitting on the dealer lot for a while and the dealer wants to get rid of it. If this is the case the temptation to offer 20% less than the asking price, chances are they say no, but they will come back and at worst they take another 2 grand off the car, and if the car has been there for a while it might be worth it to hold firm.

We bought it!
The car has had one owner; it was a lease in California. The dealer received the car from BMW Financial less than a week ago. It does not have the IDRIVE - I don't think that was done in the 3 series until 2006. I am not a fan of Mercedes and I did look at Audi A3 and A4, but I did not like them as much as the BMW. I did a lot of research and the price seemed to be fair. I did check the windows weather stripping because I was aware that they can be an issue, but all looked good! I am very happy with it so far!

I'm not sure that's true in the Mid-Atlantic states. I'm trying to sell my 04 330CI Convertible with ZHP, xenons, AT, telematics, 35k miles for only $30k and haven't gotten one call on it in two weeks.

I'm considering buying a new 328i or a used 06 330i and a quick search in Yahoo Autos show that they start at about $34,000. I see some cheaper ones, but they're not sold by BMW dealerships (so are probably not CPO). I know that when it comes to used cars, there are no rules and many more variables, but since I've never purchased a used car in the U.S. before, can you please tell me your experience when negotiating these advertised prices? Is it reasonable to expect some 10% off? Otherwise, they're really expensive and not much cheaper than a new 328i with only 25 hps less!

Thanks for the advice. I've got the car priced below Private party value (as calculated on Edmunds and NADA) and less than midway between KBB trade and retail. I'll give it a month before I dump it at CarMax or something...

Well.. It's a convertible.. While the Performance Package should help sell it, you have to find a convertible buyer, first.

It's pretty hard to move a coupe or sedan buyer to a convertible, no matter how it is equipped. You either want one, or you don't.

I'm contemplating buying a 2008 328i Coupe using the miltiary purchase plan. With this plan you can buy a BMW from an overseas dealer if you are on military orders out of the country. The car is ordered from the factory and shipped to the dealer of your choice in the US.

I test drove a 328 prior to leaving for Iraq so I know I'd be happy with the car; I would like input as to whether the price on the military purchase plan is actually a decent discount.

Here's what I'm looking at (the actual car I will order will be a 2008; I've been told the prices will be just slightly higher):

Base Price: $31450
Freight/Marine Insurance/Import Duty/Handing/Prep: $2150
Sports Package: $1000
Nav: $1900
Assist/Bluetooth: $750
Ipod Adaptor: $350
Metallic Paint:$475
+/- on the leather: $1450

Total: $39525 (or $38075 without leather)

Questions: 1) Is this a good deal? If I shop when I get back, the place I live has 2 BMW dealers within about a 100 mile radius, so there's not a lot to choose from there (and I can only order via the military purchase plan while deployed)

2) Leather: what is the non-leather surface like? is it cheap? I didn't get to see a lot of models before I left

3) Nav: is it worth almost $2000 for the navigation system and controversial iDrive?

My apologies if this issue has been covered before, our internet connection is pretty slow over here and I can't afford to put in hours of time surfing for info. Thanks in advance!

tell me how many miles are on the 330 i, what features are listed with it, are you buying from a dealer or individual. I assume you are looking at a Sedan. I think offering 10% off the bat is a terrific idea. I don't know if you will be able to find one, but you might hit your ideal price. If you give me more info I can help you out in more detail.
