Range Rover Sport HSE Lease Quote Questions

I'm comparing leases of several different vehicles that are similarly priced. Land Rover is the highest and I'm not sure why. I am in Southern California.

$7,529 cap cost
36 month lease
10k miles
0.0025 money factor
59% residual value
$5k down
$1,158 monthly payment

Is this a good deal? Why are the other vehicles I'm looking at for the same price in the $800's and up?

I show a .00187 MF and 59% residual. So, it looks like they are marking up the money factor on you, which is typical for Land Rover...

If you are comparing leases, you won't get a Range Rover.

Moderator, I'm not sure where you're directing this topic. Not only can't I find those categories and I'm only interested in tapping the knowledge or Land Rover drivers / those in the know on Land Rover. With that said, does that change where you think this string should appear? Also, should I repost in that suggested forum area or can this be moved?

Kyfdx, when you say "I show a .00187 MF" where are you taking that reference from? Are you saying that the particular dealer is marking up the MF or Land Rover is doing so in general? Is that MF a national average or something? According to the dealer this is their "best and tier 1 MF." I assuming this is the only possible place I have to negotiate but given what they've said I don't know if I can even do that.

.00187 is the base money factor on that model, provided by the leasing bank (Land Rover Financial).

That dealer is marking up the MF for extra profit, which is permitted by the bank. It's also typical of Land Rover dealers in particular, and most Euro makes in general.

To generalize a little bit... Range Rover consumers are not especially price sensitive and Land Rover dealers are pretty low volume, and usually have little local LR competition. Some dealers may feel the need to negotiate and compete with other brands (BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc), but most of them are more of the "Here is the cost and here is where you sign... if you have to ask, you can't afford it" type of dealerships..

If you know this is the only vehicle you are interested in.... just work the price.... and, keep saying.. "That's too much".. LOL

Well, I have the money but I didn't get this way without being stingy. :) I will tell them that I know the that Land Rover Financial's money factor is $0.00187 and that they have to use that MF or I walk.

Honestly, good luck getting that rate. I paid .0280 money factor but was able to get MSRP in December. Waited 6 months on my sport and I am loving it. Most places quoted me above MSRP. I am happy every day I drive this car. Fyi, i came out of a Cayenne. Enjoy your life or keep walking.
