CLA45 AMG MSRP: $53,225 NCC: $48,558 36 months / 7,500 56% residual (think it's supposed to be 58%) MF: .0022 $4,012 due at signing: told that was inception and tax for NYC monthly payment: $637
Sounds like a good deal but I can't get the numbers to work so I am confused
I'm also not thrilled that this car does not have the multimedia package i.e. back up camera or factory nav. Comes with the Garmin navi instead which means the smaller screen.
Any feedback on the price and my plan to install one of those back up camera kits on a lease would be appreciated.
Anatoly
The residual for 36/7.5K is 60%. The base 15K/yr residual is 56%. If you use 60%, I get $638/mo., which is right on your number. .0022 is about right for the standard MF, as well.
I would ask them to break down the $4012. About $1900 for tax, $795 for acq.fee, $638 1st payment. That leaves almost $700 for title/license/doc fees... I guess that's not far off, even if it's padded a little.
The only thing I see to lower the payment would be a lower selling price. Couldn't tell you the market on this car, but you can use the Make/Model/Year tabs at the top of the page to get Edmunds TMV.
Looking for a quick review of this quote, for August 1, 2015:
CLA 250 4matic 36months, 15,000 miles
MSRP: 38,755 Selling Price: 34,506 Maintenance: 1,275 Net CAP: not given Residual Value: 24,018 **this is 60%, plus 60% of the maintenance at $765 Money factor: quoted as 3.52%, which as I understand it corresponds to .00147 Tax Rate: 6.75 First payment ($444.13) Fees ($310) Acquisition fee ($795) due at signing Monthly payment is $444.13 which includes tax and pre-paid maintenance.
This is the best quote I've received on this vehicle, but not the best MF. I've been quoted as low as .0131 which doesn't even make sense given what I've read here about MB and base rates.
I understood that the residual on this vehicle was 62%, but have been assured that is not the case and provided "proof" via a scanned doc from MB financial.
Thanks for any input or advice. I've been told that the July 31st offer has been extended "today only" which I'm pretty sure means I have all month to figure this out.

The July program expired on the 31st. It may have been extended, but we haven't heard that, yet.
In July, base MF was .00121 and the residual was 60% for 36mo, 15K/yr
At $40030 for MSRP and $35,781 for selling price (both including maintenance), .00147 MF and 60% residual, I get $414//mo.+tax. or $441/mo. (pretty close).
Just wanted to share the deal I got with everyone.
2015 CLA 250 36 mo / 10k lease MSRP: $34,550 .0155 MF 65% Residual Final selling price was $32,082 with the Garmin Pilot NAV add-on
I got the monthly payments down to $347/mo + tax totaling $369 with zero down but $1880 out of pocket (1st months pay't, acquisition, license/reg, doc fees)
In sum, about $3k off msrp.
My suggestion to all the buyers is to learn how to calculate a lease payment given the variables presented. Once you negotiate down to a selling price your comfortable with, crunch the #s on your own given the fixed residual and MF you are eligible for to determine your monthly payment plus the standard drive off fees. During this process, I experienced 2 dealerships that gave me an awesome selling price but with a monthly payment that was way off. When it came down to breaking those #'s down and validating their numbers, they quickly changed the subject or ignored it all together!
Hope this helps and thanks!
thanks so much for the info on how you went about getting your deal. If i may ask, is there a particular website or online calculator you used to plug in the numbers?

Adding in $795 acq.fee and $1400 tax, I get about $527/mo., so pretty close.
Tax isn't $3000 on a lease... NYS taxes the sum of payments. I calculate about $1400.
The base MF is .00121, so marked up slightly. That adds about $14/mo. to your deal.
The other thing is the price. $1500 discount doesn't look that great to me, but then, I don't really know the market for this model. That may be the going rate.

Yes this is 36/12. I haven't negotiated with them yet about the price but wanted to see if everything looked okay. Yes i just realized the tax was almost doubled what i should be paying for my lease thanks for catching that
Going to a dealership today. Most likely in a hour or so. Wanted to know if the MF and residual is the same for Front Wheel Drive as it is for a 4Matic quoted above. Thanks in advance!

Yes, MF and residual are the same for both FWD and 4Matic version of the CLA250
I received the following lease offer after going back and forth with a FL dealer. Can you let me know your thoughts on it? I did a few calculations on my own and felt it should be lower but wanted to confirm.
CLA250 - 12k miles per year MSRP - $33,850 Selling Price - $31,273 MF - .00121 RV - 63% $0 down with the exception of the first month's payment. All other fees rolled-in. Monthly Payment - $479 w/tax included for a 27 month lease. Our state tax is 6%.

I confirm the .00121 MF but there is no 27 month program for the CLA. 24/12 residual is 64%.
I get $445/mo for 24 months using your numbers and 6% tax.
Find out what the net cap cost is - I suspect that the fees you are rolling in makes it higher than the selling price.

Looks like Mercedes let's you add the maintenance plan to the MSRP, which is good.
All the calculations are correct at base rates. The only way to bring it down is with a bigger discount from MSRP. Though, that might not be possible.
You can roll your taxes and acquisition fee into the payment, if you don't want to pay upfront. That would be $3200 less upfront and take the payment to about $559/mo.
What is the current best MF and residual for 10k/36 mo on the CLA250? Both 2015 and 2016 if you have it
Also, what MF and residual are they figuring into the current 2015 & 2016 $329 and $359/mo 10k/36 deal based off a 33,400 or 34,550 gross cap cost and 2499 reduction?

Hello everyone, I am looking for some advise and some information, your help, share and advise appreciated.
So I did my home work but I need more information to get into my ideal payment.

I went shopping a CLA 250 today and the dealer offer a "DEAL" on his loaner car with 8,000 miles on it (2015, FWD, no options at all)
He is quoting 30,600 Selling Price on it (True car says I can get a New 2015 CLA 250 for 30,200 from same dealer, which I checked later). And he says if I do a "2,500 due at signing", my monthly payments will be 460 to 480$ plus tax. Isn't it ridiculous? (I have no credit history or credit score, but I have a guarantor with 770 credit score)
I just walked out saying I will let them know later. As the MB website says lease is around 329$ pm, I will ignore the 8,000 miles to make it up for my lack of credit score and finalize for 329$ (2,500 due at signing)

How does it sound?
Their quote was way too high. The 8000 miles would affect the calculated residual, but you should also get a discount off the selling price as well.
Meanwhile, I have used your numbers on a Subaru WRX STI and got a deal for 2000 down, 392 pm including tax. Same 36 month, 12K miles, 2016 brand new car, 35,600 MSRP, 34,200 SP. I love stick shift any day.
2000 down 390 per month for used Mercedes CLA vs 2000 down 390 per month for an STI is a no-brainer for me. (would have loved the heated front seats, automatic stop-start, power seats, luxury interiors, harman kardon speakers though, but not as much as the stick and vroommm of STI)

Thanks for you help. It was very useful.
Two very different cars; glad you picked the one that appealed to you more. It's better to choose the right car rather than the right deal.
Does Mercedes also allow MSD (Multiple Security Deposits) like Audi and BMW? If so, how many do they accept? I leave in NJ and have experience leasing from BMW. I was able to reduce the base money factor of 0.00130 to 0.00081 by using 7 MSDs at 0.00007 for each MSD.

MB does have an MSD program, but we're unclear as to when it can be used. We thought that it only applies to cars where the standard MF of .00200-.00220 is in effect, but there have been some posts on the lease discussions here that some dealers have allowed MSDs on supported lease rates as well.
We don't have the details as to how many SDs can be used, or what the MF reductions is for each.
The car has roughly 6k miles already and is marked down to $28970
The lease numbers I got for this were:
36 month/12k per year $1939 total drive off (includes 1st payment, bank fees and 1 year registration) $312 tax included
36 month/15k per year $1960 total drive off $332.52 tax included
Also, is there any downside to leasing a vehicle that already has 6k miles on it?
Thanks!
No downside to the miles, as you will still be under warranty when the lease is up (check the in-service date, to make sure the vehicle has less than one year of service).
.00113 MF and 58% residual (minus mileage reduction). For 36mo, 15K/yr
Don't know your tax rate, but the numbers look about right, as long as the drive-off amounts aren't padded with garbage fees.
Comments
If you use 60%, I get $638/mo., which is right on your number.
.0022 is about right for the standard MF, as well.
I would ask them to break down the $4012. About $1900 for tax, $795 for acq.fee, $638 1st payment. That leaves almost $700 for title/license/doc fees... I guess that's not far off, even if it's padded a little.
The only thing I see to lower the payment would be a lower selling price. Couldn't tell you the market on this car, but you can use the Make/Model/Year tabs at the top of the page to get Edmunds TMV.

CLA 250 4matic
36months, 15,000 miles
MSRP: 38,755
Selling Price: 34,506
Maintenance: 1,275
Net CAP: not given
Residual Value: 24,018

Money factor: quoted as 3.52%, which as I understand it corresponds to .00147
Tax Rate: 6.75
First payment ($444.13) Fees ($310) Acquisition fee ($795) due at signing
Monthly payment is $444.13 which includes tax and pre-paid maintenance.

I checked with them. They said MSRP: 32,200, SP: 30,900.
Now they are saying 30,100 SP (Includes heated seats which costs 595)
Regards,
Chandar.
Using your MSRP and selling price, I get $373/mo + tax. This does not take into consideration the 8000 miles the car has on it.
I still think you should get more of a discount from sticker.

I leave in NJ and have experience leasing from BMW. I was able to reduce the base money factor of 0.00130 to 0.00081 by using 7 MSDs at 0.00007 for each MSD.
We don't have the details as to how many SDs can be used, or what the MF reductions is for each.

I'm looking for some feedback on these numbers...
2015 Mercedes CLA
MSRP Subtotal = $34,475
w/ Destination & Delivery = $35400
The car has roughly 6k miles already and is marked down to $28970
The lease numbers I got for this were:
36 month/12k per year
$1939 total drive off (includes 1st payment, bank fees and 1 year registration)
$312 tax included
36 month/15k per year
$1960 total drive off
$332.52 tax included
Also, is there any downside to leasing a vehicle that already has 6k miles on it?
Thanks!
.00113 MF and 58% residual (minus mileage reduction). For 36mo, 15K/yr
Don't know your tax rate, but the numbers look about right, as long as the drive-off amounts aren't padded with garbage fees.
