The throw out bearing in my 2004 TSX's clutch went bad at about 16,000 miles. My Acura dealer replaced it under warranty - no questions asked.
I think you need to find a new dealer. Assuming you didn't mouth off at the service manger or something, a dealer that valued you as a customer could have done a "courtesy/good will" repair on your car.
Regardless they should have done some sort of goodwill adjustment. I was planning on moving to the TL in a few months but I would not go back there.
Has anyone else had similar problems with a creaky/notchy clutch pedal?
In May we are going to travel to CA via the southern states in the tsx. Last May we did a 20 state tour (6,177 miles) NC to SD. Our goal is to see every state.
Just a suggestion, unless you hit a curb or went thru pot-holes-only get the tires rotated and balanced. I have it done by my dealer as they seem to do an excellent job. I used to take my cars to sears. always had to go back 2-3times to get the tires re-balanced. I would never pay $400-450 a month leased or otherwise.( IMO) My payments are for 60 months at $200.00 but I pay more to pay it off sooner.
So I just re-capped, with quite a lot clicks..
Is this a common issue for TSX? I mean, this is the first fuel... very annoying.
By the way, I felt the ignition cranking time in the morning is longer than my 10year old accord, and it is not cold outside..I am in northern cal.
The milage I got is 22 mpg, with 1/3 high way, 2/3 local..not much traffic.
Your gas mileage hopefully will improve with more mileage. I average 32-35 MPG but that is mostly highway driving. The worst was 28.4 and the best was 41.6.
I live on southeast coast of NC and my car is garaged. I have not experienced hard starts.
My tsx is 15 months old, bought new, with 36,000+miles-love it.
i think fuel cap should be rotated untill one click.
I'm no expert, but it sounds to me like an air/fuel issue - a bad O2 sensor or something. Back in 2002, I had a company car (Chrysler LHS) that had the same issue come up after about 20,000 miles. The dealership I took it to told me it had something to do with the computer receiving a faulty signal that the car was at a different altitude, causing the computer to improperly set the air/fuel ratio. I wasn't very mechanically savvy back then, but I do know that the Chrysler was fixed under warranty (a re-flash, I think) in 1 day and the problem never returned.
Whatever the problem (O2 sensor, ECM, etc.), your OBD computer should have stored a fault code when your car stalled. All they had to do was plug a code reader into the OBD port to see what was happening.
Oh, and congrats on the 328i - terrific car. I suspect the BMW dealer was happy to take your trade-in because they know the problem is a simple and inexpensive fix. I assure you your old TSX is no lemon, and the BMW dealer won't lose money on it.
You will help many more people than you know.

Thanks
I bought my tsx from a Pa dealer.
new TSX -08 car owner (@4.5K miles and i was wondering how often do I need to have my oil changed and the usual prices?
what im being told is every 4K miles at $40.00/service..what should i expect done with the oil change?
are there any other maintenance services i need right now?
- 7.5K miles
- 15K miles
- 30K miles
That should give you the information you're looking for
You have a lying dealer -- what a shock.
Is there an independent Honda/Acura repair shop in your area? Sounds like you went to one, but if the result was "it was burning excess oil from somewhere and the deal (sic) need to fix it," you probably need to check with another independent shop.
These guys screwed something up.
Good luck.
This, by the way, is why I do my own oil changes and most of the other service as well.
If your car is using 1/4 of one quart every thousand miles, you do not have an issue. Mine uses that much. If you have a manual and rev the engine, the oil will get consumed.
If you are using one full quart every thousand miles, I would agree that it is high. If it were me, I would document the consumption with receipts. There other thing I would do is have an independent analysis of the oil. You can get a sample next time you change it. There are several places that do this, I have used a place called Your Oil.Net. They will send you a report showing the types of metals found in the oil and provide some commentary on their findings - for example, excessive amounts of copper....
I think it's about $30, but it might be the type of evidence that would sway Honda to covering any repairs. I would also be gathering documentation to prove you performed oil changes.
Keep in mind that people are always trying to push repair expenses back to the manufacturer, so they can't afford to be too easy. If you have a well documented case, making a reasonable request, the car isn't too far outside of warranty and you are the original owner that bought new, they will give it due consideration. An emotional complaint on a second owner car well outside warranty limits with no maintenance documentation won't get $1 of coverage.
I guess I will have to take it yet again to another shop and spend more money....
Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it.
Thanks for your feedback. I will look into Your Oil Net, and see if they have one around here. Thanks so much.
I cannot start my one-month old 2008 TSX. I put the key into the ignition switch, but I just couldn't turn it. It seemed to be locked.
I also noticed that it didn't display "Welcome Driver 1" as usual; only showing "Welcome".
Other than that, I didn't notice anything unusual. I was still able to drive it last night.
Help! Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot!
Rick
Does the engine turn over but not start? Does the key turn, but the starter doesn't even spin? If you just can't turn the key, have you tried wiggling the steering wheel back and forth? Sometimes when the car is stopped immediately after turning into a parking place, the steering wheel force on the lock will make the key hard to turn.
The hear this sound when I am accelerating and reach anywhere from 15-25mph. Once I go past 25mph it goes away.
Does anyone else hear this sound or know what it could possibly be? I took the car to the dealer and they said they drove the car for 3 miles and didn't hear anything, but I think I am taking it back again.
Is this really true? I got this car on 6/24/08, have put fuel (87-regular) in it twice, and already there's an odd rattle coming from the engine because I'm not using premium?
And the kicker is right before I went to the dealer I filled the tank up with regular too. So now I have to wait to fill up again to see if this sound goes away.
Thanks
