"Not coming to a complete stop can shorten the life of an automatic transmission. Roll shifting reverses the torque on the driveline, which could damage the transmission, axle, mounts and drive joints."
Can anyone tell me what kind of damage I've done to my car? By how much do you think I've shortened the life of my TSX?
No.
The problem is most likely a rim that is bent not the tires. Have them take the tires off and check the rims.
good luck
If you had 20k on the odo when you bought it, it was NOT new. And it is likely (but not certain) that the failure is driver related - it's just that you weren't the driver responsible. I can just imagine the test drives that car had seen before you bought it. :surprise:
Your dealer is absolutely horrible. You need to call Honda of Canada (I assume that you are in Canada since you mentioned km) immediately and get that repair handled. They cannot prove you were the one that damaged the transmission, so they need pay for that.
While I would certainly be upset with Acura if I were you, I urge you to look up Mercedes reliability before you purchase a C-class. The customer service will be utilized often.
LOL! Good luck with that.
Well, you did buy a demo. While everyone makes their own choices, personally I would NEVER buy a demo. I've been on test drives where extremely low mileage cars have been whipped. Being a demo is a tough start for a new car. Break-in periods are important and demos don't get them.
Any brand has problem cars and this doesn't mean that Acura is "overrated". Sorry that you had serious problems, but most Acura buyers do not. Jumping to a Mercedes product is ABSOLUTELY no guarantee of satisfaction. M-B's recent reliability (especially electronics) has been well below industry average. And out of warranty repair costs will make you cry.
Good luck in any case.
Driving is OK and looks pretty new.
But in the idle state. the car is vibrating a little.
And when I ignite the engine by the key. I feels it is harder than other cars. Like, the engine rotates more than other cars, and feels longer than 1sec. Not smoothy start the engine.
Others are just fine.
Is this normal?
The sluggish starting is the result of the relatively weak OEM battery, and can be fixed by getting an aftermarket battery with more cold cranking amps. If it doesn't bother you, then leave it be, because the car will still start. One thing I'll say is don't run the radio for extended periods with the car off, because you'll drain the battery pretty quickly.
I speak from experience on that one.

Brake pedal squeaks: jeann was talking about the brake PEDAL, not the bakes. My brake pedal also has some friction: when I first depress it I can feel the pedal "grabbing" as if the hinges are too tight, and as I press the pedal further I can feel some friction that shouldn't be there. I'm going to have them take a look at this as well when I take it in.
My MID is always off when I get in the car and start it regardless of how I left it. Personally, I like it defaulting off (since there are so many other displays to look at in this car already). It would have been cool for this to be a programmable setting, though.
You need to enable your remote first by pressing both the lock and unlock at the same time. You will see the LED blink on the top of the fob.
You then unlock the door with the remote, put the key in and turn to II. You should see the MID shows Welcome Driver 1 or (2). Now you can customize settings for each driver.
1st: The alarm wiring is interfering with the ignition, recommended to take back to selling dealer.
2nd: Selling dealer said that nothing is wrong, looks at the alarm, takes out an unused wire and said it is fine.
3rd: Car still not starting properly (an electrical kind of noise then engine dies). Since selling dealer is a jerk that blames it on user error, I take it back to #1. They say the battery is no good and they change it.
My car is still not starting right, I'm in the process of writing to Acura USA and perhaps taking it to the dealer a 4th time. Any advice on the Lemon Law or getting a refund???
First car I owned that will be having this problem.

Just got my new 2006 Artic Blue with Navi and I love the bluetooth -- problem is a couple mornings I have conference calls while I am driving with my baby. I only need to talk a little and don't want everyone to hear him the whole time. Is there a way to mute??? I am using a cingular nokia 6102i phone.
It all started November 06. It happened 5 times within a month. I took it to south coast acura a month ago, they said nothing wrong w/ it and unless i know which part is wrong they can't do anything about it. Come on, if i knew which part is wrong, i wouldn't need to take the car back to dealer.
Same thing happened again at 2 A.M. so I leave the car there didnt try to restart it again coz the south coast acura service advicer told me not to just tow it to the dealer. I did what he said, I had the car tow to Thomas Acura. Talked to service advicer name Chris Martin. They run the same test again as south coast acura, the result is the same. everything is fine nothing wrong w/ my car.
Chris said it's NORMAL for a TSX to take a longer time to start up. If you leave the car set there for 1~2 days when you tried to start up, you will have to hold the key a little longer, sometimes it even take up to 15~20 seconds.
I'm not good with cars but I know for sure it's not right to take 15~20 second to start up a car so I called the selling dealer. The service advicer whom I talked to was nice, but since I live so far from there, he said I should take it to the cloest dealer so I call Thomas Acura again and I talk to the same service advicer.
He sounds like he doesn't want me to take the car in to do futher check up and he even said I can go in to the dealer now and he will start up any NEW or USED car right infront of me to show me it's NORMAL to take a longer time to start up the car.
When I told him I would like to make an appointment to get a futher check up for my car and also get a loaner's car, he wouldn't even tell me when is the next available time.
Is it normal like this, I know it's not but how come they can't find out the problem, that I have to hold the key a little longer when I start up my car? it only has 14000 miles on it. I bought it brand NEW.
and don't go to Thomas Acura, if you wanna go dont get the service advicer name Chris Martin. Not a happy experience with him.
I bought my car new also and this happened within the first month. I couldn't prove that it was a Lemon because I couldn't record the problem on tape like the attorney had suggested. I tell all my friends DO NOT BUY ACURA!!! My new car was suppose to be my baby but it was a big let down. Another friend just bought the MDX and is having issues already. Save money and buy a LEXUS instead, I wish I did. I hope this posts helps! You have to make them take you seriously if not talk to the Manager and keep going up the chain of command.
From my limited and admittedly anecdotal experience with my own '04, I've never had this problem. The OEM battery is kind of weak for the car, but the car always cranks the first time, and my car routinely sits for five days at a time due to my having access to a company vehicle.
Hope you are able to resolve your problem.
It's not normal at all, they lie!
*waves fists at Acura* You know I still get upset when I see Acura commercials, I got a semi-lemon.
I got a 2007 TSX last month and have about 1700 miles on it. I commute 80 miles per day round trip to work and the last two days when I've left the garage at work to drive home I've experienced a creaking or rattling sound in the dashboard which sounds like it's coming from somewhere near the "A" pillar on the passenger side. It is worse when I accelerate and it continues for the entire drive across the city and then for several miles on the freeway. About 45 minutes to an hour into the commute home, the noise stops. When it is happening it is very irritating and needless to say the drive is no fun at all - just stressful. It can even be heard over the radio. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this in his/her TSX and if so were you able to have Acura fix it? Thanks in advance for any replies!
PS. Aside from the dashboard rattle/creak the car is very nice and I love driving it, but I won't live with a brand new $30,000 car with a rattling dashboard. No new car regardless of the price should have a rattling dashboard.
