Nice that it takes cues from the SRT8 (suspension, seats, spoiler, better sound), and would be even better if it was offered in AWD? Anyone know? Thanks.
Thx in advance.
I did some to my 300 and I am not pushing there service but I would use one stop in Northfield,NJ.
they do great work and the price is right. Had car toy do some work and I was not happy with it.
My two biggest concerns are the mirrors and the door handles. The mirrors don't seem to quite fit when I tested the placement of them. Plus I read somewhere they do need to be modified to fit the limited.
The mirrors need a special mounting kit if they are after market.
I had the mirrors put on I tried it my self and had to buy the kits when I was at one stop they put them on for what the kits and tool cost plus the door handles. not hard just need the right stuff to install.
good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I will ultimately have the mirror professionally installed. I think I can handle the doors and the window trim myself. Now I just need to find a heater for my garage.
Thanks for the tips
I have driven 300C's that pulled to right, had tires that were noisy and harsh riding (see above) and had some type of shudder, that I've read about in this forum.
I finally took one out that was perfect. I learned a long time ago that every single car is unique. Evidence of that is found in these types of web sites.
I think I've found a 10 and not a 5 or a 6 (or worse). I'll let you all know soon. I take delivery in 3 days.
So, after you have done all your homework; drive, drive drive. I would suggest at least 3 different cars with the same drive train. Good luck.
I called Chrysler direct and have left several messages they will get back to me, I am told. So yes we all need to call the customer service line at chrysler there has to be a simple fix as it seems we are all having the same type of problems. Chrysler just wants to be like Ford take your money and not make the customer happy with fixing the problem everyone is having  :confuse:  :lemon: all the dealer is worried about is the dam survey that tells how they are doing well they will not like what I put on it as my problems started at 45 miles I asked for another car and was told no I already bought that one they could not without me having to buy another one and giving them more money that was not going to happen so after a year I will unload it and never buy Chrysler again.
Why don't you try a body shop as they have the special tools and know how to either help you or explain how to install them.
This link concerns the recall that I mentioned previously.

It appears the problems are the same but I don't know if this will resolve the issues that you mention with your vehicle but it's a start.
I will also call the dealer again today see if they have anything new yet.

tech bulletin that shows there is a shudder problem some of you have complained about. This is on the 5speed.The
service bulletin #2101105.For the people with the shudder
should call your dealers and give them that number.I hope
this will help you out because these are great cars that need to get the bugs out.
To all: Car problems stink, but all makes have them. If your car does, your dealer and/or the manufacturer should fix them. If they can't, or won't, you've got a lemon. Most states and the federal government have laws that specify your rights in such cases. Here's a link that can help you learn about them -

Germany. That is for the 5speed auto. This is a Mercedes tranny, thats why is says Germany. The 4speed is made in USA,same tranny they used on the LH cars with modification for rear wheel drive.
I was told not to buy and I payed the price so now I can stop someone from making the same mistake I did. They did not back there customer satisfaction so I'm stuck w/ a lemon. I bought a new chrysler product. Buy smart buy somewhere else!
all the 300c have the 5 speed which should be the Mercedes
tranny. Those should say Germany unless Chrysler moved production in the U.S.I bought mine in Oct. with a Sept.05
built date. These Tranny's should be pretty free of defects
because they been in Mercedes for awhile.Their might be some problems but not big ones.I can understand that there
may be problems on the 05 300 because of its first year of production.Thats why I took a chance on buying my Charger
hoping all the bugs would be worked out with the 300.
The Chargers showed the same. The 4speeds were made in the US.I did also noticed that the Hemi's are made in Mexico
which I did not know.It looks like Chrysler is trying to save money by importing it fom Mercedes instead of retooling a plant to make the trannys here. And save big money by having the Hemi made in Mexico. Its all about the money.
Saltillo is one of the most educated cities in Mexico (if not the most educated in all of Latin America) and has a very high quality work force, hence the fact that there are many large international companies located there.
Me personally, I'd almost rather have an engine built in Saltillo as opposed to Detroit, and I'm a Detroit native.

American muscle would have been made in the US.I'm just from the old school when everything was made here, and I hate to hear about all the layoffs in the american car companies. The Ford Fusion is made in Hermosillo,Mexico
as well as its sister cars. This does save the companies a lot of money. It also keeps the prices down so we can afford them.Times change.

I honestly feel, after much effort, the 300C delivers everything I want in a car:
Stying
Performance
Comfort
...and for the best value as well.
I am quite excited to have this product...kudos to DCX.
That doesn't stop the fact that your tranny is a Mercedes
and that its made in Germany.Let me know when you see a
window sticker that shows the 5speed is made in the US.I
also have to tell you that your car is not assembled in
the US.Its built in Canada which has been used for years by Chrysler. So you could say that these cars aren't American made.
also noticed that the last 6 numbers were below the 200000
on the VIN.There was a small pecentage that said US.Only
thing I can think of is that the US plant can't keep up with production. My Charger was built on 9-2-06 and the sticker says Germany. My last 6 numbers starts with 247000.
Another mystery is the sticker shows the 300 with 75% parts from US/Canadian,while the Charger shows 70%.Both cars are made in the same place and are identical other than the looks. We are coming up with some mystery here.
