2016 Q5 2.0T Premium Plus with Tech package Lease Question

Hi,

I just came back from a local dealer and got the numbers. Would you please tell me how does it look?
I'm still thinking that it is too high.
I'm in Virginia

Here's the detail:

2016 Q5 2.0T Premium Plus with Tech package

1. MSRP or Market Value Selling Price: $48,670 (Including Destination charge)
2. Discount: $2000
3. Negotiated Price: $46,670
3. Trading in: $14,800 (I know I know, but I have to trade in..)
4. Trade Difference: $46,670 - $14,800 = $31,870
6. Processing Fee: $669
7. Tax: $1,940
8. Non Tax Fee (Registration, Title, and so on): $115.83
9. Net Price: $34,595.73
10. Trade Payoff: $3,800
11. Balance: $38,395.73

The sales manager says, for 36 month, 15K miles, no cash down: $476/month payment.

Here are the questions:

1. Does that sound okay? or too expensive?

2. What's October 2015 Money Factor number for 15K, 36 month lease? (2016 Q5 Premium Plus and Tech Pkg.)

3. What are the processing fee and Can I negotiate it?

4. Is the sale tax of $1,940 correct? or does it have to be off of MSRP? or after the trade in (MSRP - Trade in)?
Auto Sales Tax rate is 4.1% in Virginia

5. I'm trying to transfer my plates and registration. How does that work? Is the dealer charge reasonable?

6. I told them to call back in a couple of days, Should I ask more price reduction? and Any tip?

Thank you for your help in advance!!

Nathan

    1) Yes.. sounds very expensive. $11,000 upfront. Just because you are trading in doesn't mean you have to put all that money down on the lease. They can cut you a check for it. Actual cost with just first payment upfront is about $775/mo.

    2) .00126 MF and 54% residual

    3) Processing fee = more revenue for dealer. Rather than trying to negotiate the fee, work on getting the selling price down. We usually see 6% off as a normal price for Audi. That would be another $1000 lower, plus go for another $700 off to make up for the superfluous fee.

    4) Pretty sure that VA taxes the full selling price. Not sure how they handle trade-in credits (or, if there is one).

    5) Sorry.. local issue that we don't have info on.

    6) In addition to asking for more off, verify the money factor being used, to make sure it isn't marked up. Also, consider structuring the lease so you get about $8000 of that downpayment money back. From here, it looks like they may be marking up the money factor, as well.

I am working a deal for a 2016 Audi Q5 premium plus/tech pkg MSRP 48995...dealer gave me 41817 Net cap .....payment of 516 inc. tax with 1000 drive off....they told me the residual is 57% on the prem plus.....not 58%...which is what I was using...do you have the correct residual?

I am lease noobie. Negotiated a deal with dealer in NJ for 2.0T Premium Plus with tech package.
$532 per month with $0 down. 36months/10K per year. Total selling cost was $48625. $532 for driving off.

Not sure if it is a good deal. Was thinking to negotiate more to go down to 475. Anyone think it's possible?

You don't want to negotiate the payment; you want to negotiate the selling price and make sure the dealer isn't marking up the MF or adding extra fees.

    What is the MSRP?

    36/10 on Q5 Premium Plus is .00030 and 56%.

I get $486/mo before tax with those numbers, so your quote looks to be pretty solid if you're adding the taxes and fees to the cap cost.

"Promised"? I'd want to know the exact adjusted cap cost - can't really evaluate your deal without it.

    .00030 and 55% for 36/12.

Hmmm, using those numbers, I get $463/mo before tax. About a $500 difference.

    Confirm the net cap cost.
