The same night went out to my car to leave (I had just driven it 5 minutes earlier) and it was completely dead. Had a friend jump it but it wouldn't hold a charge. Called the dealersip and they picked up. Told me my suspension compressor ($525) was constantly running and needed to be replaced and that is why the battery died. They charged the battery and sent me on my way while the part was ordered. Next day...leaving work...car dead. Called the dealership they picked up. This time they said is it my alternator ($450) testing 10.3 on a 13 point scale. Would the compressor problem have antying to do with the alternator or vice versa? Is is common that the compressor gets louder before going out?
The bad compressor could put stress on the Alternator, but not the reverse. It IS common for the compressor to get progressively louder as it ages. I never burned one out, but if it were running all the time, you'd hear it when you shut the truck off. I'm not buying this whole trip from your dealer.....but the compressor eventually failing is certainly likely. As to why it's draining your battery though, that would not be possible without the Alternator being weak as well.
This should fix it. If not, they're guessing wrong. Obviously.

Is there anything I can check or do to remedy and fix this?
or do I resign myself to the inevitable fate of the dealer and the $150 diagnosis charge plus whatever comes next?
Personally, I'd trade the truck in. I'd be out of patience by now....
2) yOU COULD HAVE A COIL PACK going bad on you.
3) Is your heat guage in the normal range when the truck is doing this?
Anybody please help.
Turn on engine and listen, under the hood on the drivers side in the area of the fuse box.If theres a leak the part cost about 27.00. I replaced it myself. good luck

The previous owner screwed up the suspension and radio for you.
Who knows what wires they have been hacking on.
thank you guys
I have checked the weather stripping and made sure the moon roof is closed all the way but have not had any luck isolating where the leak is coming from.
I am thinking about bringing it to the licoln dealer but not sure if they would have any better luck without tearing everything apart and charging an arm and a leg to find it.
Any suggestions?
