Just my observations.
Ken
It only happens on a rare occassion.
Any Canadians here ?
Thanks Paul
I'd also like the rack to be removable since I won't be using it all the time. I like the look of the stock truck.
Maybe there is a manufacturer that will take advantage of the bed mounted rack system.
Any ideas?

pretty cool.
Has anyone used Retrax before? If so, how is it? Any other suggestions on a hard cover for the bed?

Would the bed become brittle in extreme cold temperatures (-30 and below) or would there be problems in the extreme heat???
To me it sounds far superior than a spray in bed liner, let me know what you guys think!!
Hey Canadian Taco,
To address your question about the composite bed...
I've found the "stock bed" to be too slippery when I put small things in it like a paint cans or skis, etc. Objects slid around when I came to a stops or shifted from side to side while going around corners.
I've invested (about $60 US) in an OEM rubber bed mat about 2 weeks ago and really like it. It adds considerable grip to the bed surface and looks pretty nice too. (it only covers the bed itself - not the gate or sides)
It only weighs about 40lbs and can easily be rolled up like a carpet if you need less friction (like with a bed full of yard mulch or something) -easier to shovel.
There have been a few other posts that also have noticed improvement by adding the mat too.
I've used the track system for securing small items a few times, and have found that to be quite useful too.
Others have talked about putting the cross "spars" in the bed to be able to haul sheets of plywood and the like, but haven't heard follow-ups on how that went... but assume it's very easy solution since there are 4 notches in the composite. (most pick-ups have them I think?)
I get a lot of inquires about the power outlet in the back, but have only used it once for a buddy's radio that needed to be re charged- worked great and saved the day!
As far as extreme ends of the temp spectrum -I haven't owned my truck long enough to add much to that discussion... I know that the composite material is pretty durable or it wouldn't have found itself on the "Truck of the Year!"
Hope that advice is useful to you/your question(s).
Regards,
Thistle
Did you get the Snuglid SL or the regular Snuglid? I'm looking at the Snugtop website and I can't really tell the difference.
Thanks,
jroks
Does this sound right to you?
I have read that with the 3"RevTek Lift on the 05 Taco you do not need to change shocks. Are they trying to separate me from my money again?
I saw these on www.trdparts4u.com
