DC is the polar opposite of Miami. Conservative, banking town, boring.
I like visiting Miami, though, in a point-and-laugh kind of way. I think more people speak Spanish there than English. Depends on what part of town, I suppose.
If that was the plan, it is indeed brilliant. Maybe some good deals to be found on a WRX, too.
Personally, I wouldn't play along with any artificial supply restrictions...we all know what eventually happens. I remember PT Cruisers initially bringing 25K+, in year 2000 dollars.
They're right about the Miata having too much body roll (even with the Bilsteins and torsen LSD package), but getting the GT misses the point. It's not about having leather and Bose audio...
And eventually less KDM flair. The gaping maw front end is not flattering. I guess for the price, there are compromises...if I wanted a big 2+2, I'd also seriously shop the improved new Mustang.
Me neither but the big empty of the minivan gets used all the time. 3 sheets of plywood the last ten days, and a big honking old homemade BBQ grill that could hold a whole pig got taken to the recycling center. Got a nice old GSA office chair last week at the thrift too - just toss that stuff in and no worries if it rains.
Haven't seen any new cars in weeks. Would you count a '58 peach Cadillac or a nice old MG? Guess Shifty handles those spottings.
There was a red Prius in town with PA plates last night but it could have been an '04 for all I know. :shades:
No, and it was just well maintained. Had a classic plate on it but naturally I've forgotten the year. For some reason I remembered the Caddy, maybe because it had a '58 vanity plate.
Saw a white FR-S (or maybe a Breeze...I think I will call the Scion a Freeze) on a high end used car lot today - someone must be trying to flip it. The drawback of artificial supply constraints.
Also a white 2 door Evoque, won't describe the driver but let's just say huge sunglasses and I'd wager no real job. I guess when you've never looked where you are going anyway,no visibility is not an issue.
Or a Miata in 1989...I waited and paid 1/3rd what the original owner did. Drove it for 8 years and still got more than half my money back.
That Scion is in front of a dealer from a different brand, so at least it's not a Scion dealership. They're supposed to be a no-haggle environment and I'm sure Toyota would slap them on the wrist, and not allocate any more to them.
Then again, probably some under the table deal where they split the profit. Worst part is some DB will buy it.
Saw a Silver one parked outside the Ocean City, MD skate park. Wonder how they can afford one, or maybe they just parked there and walked to the beach?
It's a used car dealer, one that takes consignments too. Someone is trying to flip it. You're right about the DB part though, lots of surplus money floating around this neighborhood.
I paid 1/3 of MSRP for my E55 after 4 years and barely over 25K miles. I think I have fallen below the halfway point now though, guzzlers depreciate.
Went to the Cape for a few days and I cannot believe the number of Land Rovers, old and new in a 50 square mile island. I must've counted 100 of them all over the island, including quite a few old Disco's and Defenders. Heck, just in the parking lot at the port, I counted 7 RangeRovers out of about 12 cars that were parked! I guess it helps that there is a LR dealer in Hyannis, but man they are popular.
Other popular rides over there are all generations of 4Runner, many Jeeps and slew of Mini Coopers which, if I was living there, that would be my wheels.
Stopped by a Toyota dealer on the way home and checked out the new FR-S. Also spotted an R8 roadster, a Bentley Continental GT and yet no Range Rovers at all. lol
We visited my wife's cousin a couple of weeks ago and she had just gotten one. I didn't look that closely at the car, but she likes it. She didn't want all of the stuff that came in the model that had leather, so the dealer added leather seats separately. Hadn't heard of doing that before.

DC is probably about as corrupt as Miami, anyway.
Nah, DC is far worse - politicians.

WRX sales were up 159% for May. Keep in mind how old that model is - it debuted in 2007!
People come to see one, none in stock, fine I'll buy a WRX instead.
Numbers are slightly skewed by the tsunami, but they were still way ahead of 2010.
The old bait-and-switch.

Around here dealers are getting MSRP, so no markups, but there is a wait list.

It's too heavy for a 2+2, IMHO. Needs a diet and a better shifter. :shades:
One of my bosses has one with Sync. A lot of car for the $.
Good time to be a car shopper though, lots of nice choices at 25K or less.
I knew you didn't have kids, that was obvious. :shades:
Neat to post from a moving bus. iPad + phone hotspot.

That sounds like my kind of spotting old cars!
2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
My ideal would be heated cloth.
And not black interior like my new one. I like the tan color on the special editions - more so than the standard pumpkin color.
New restorations should count. Get a pic?
Also a lightning bolt Ody. Make that 2.
SRX and c class.
Cayman R. Sweet. Rare in DC.
Today I'm at a window on a 2nd floor and sort of on call, so a bit bored!

I wonder what they do if a cash buyer walks in, no trade?
They are a bargain, so MSRP will be the norm for a while is my guess.
Maybe they have a wait list, and the person ordering the most accessories moves to the top of the list each time.
