I long for the day when the public turns its back on entertainment that is largely CGI-based. But I suspect the video-game generation pretty much means that won't happen in my lifetime.

Amen... I would LOVE to see someone make a movie where they had to figure out how to create an effect rather than "dialing it up". Happened to see the Wizard of Oz last night. The effects hold up pretty well for 1939!
And while we're at it, how about a 2D cartoon feature
Got home, took car in for service. On the showroom floor was a C63S - 84K or something, I think. Showroom was half empty as they apparently sold a ton yesterday.
Not particularly rare, but new to me today - a Fiat 500 Abarth Essence, black, red stripe, black wheels but looked like it just rolled out of a showroom, not a speck of dirt on it. Still a bit of a goofy thing, but this one was really eye-catching. Nicely done.
It was the typical east side of Seattle perplexed driver - dawdle when light turns green, go 20 in a 30, signal then change mind, creep forward, signal again then change mind, then signal and actually turn - at about 2mph.
Was behind a new Leaf at a traffic light on this chilly morning. Was a nice looking creamy white, but all I could think was... it's cold out but he doesn't look cold so he has the heat on. He's on the brake since his brake lights are on, and the turn signal is blinking... all of which are eating at his range.

Maybe it was the grey, wet morning that made it stand out, but I saw a car carrier, obviously heading towards the local Ford dealership with 6 vehicles on board, various models, but all white. Not sure I've ever seen a load like that before.

My nephew in Chattanooga has one with about 300,000 miles on it. It has a lot of electrical problems but he loves it so much he keeps nursing it along while driving an F-150 as his main ride. He's a big camper/kayaker outdoorsy guy and loves all the cubbies for stashing gear. He really hated to hear they quit making them.
Oh, the midgate was especially cool - he could stash his longer boats in the short bed with a couple feet of the kayak(s) in the cab and cover the whole shebang.

Used to do that all the time with the Tercel - split the rear seat so whoever got to ride in the back enjoyed admiring three sets of tele skis with their sharp edges.
People need to get their priorities right - cars are just cars.
Spotted my first new Civic in the wild this weekend. Really does look like an 8/10 scale Crosstour. Not sure that's a good look, though it is more palatable on a smaller car.
Guy at work is on his second one, tried a Tahoe after the first one then went back. He coaches youth sports, so it must be useful for what he does.
Loved my 2005 Avalanche. It was one of the best vehicles I've owned. No truck had a ride as smooth as this one did. No separate cab and bed, and it was basically a Suburban with a bed carved out of the back. They had a very loyal following by owners. I was set to buy one of the last 2013 models, but unfortunately GM hadn't done much since 2007 to update the rig since it was slated for extinction and I moved to the Ford camp for an F-150. Sold the Av at 8 yrs and 53K in mint condition to a guy who works for me. I see it every day, but it's not nearly as clean as when I had it. I have to just look the other way now....

Took my S2000 to the dealer for an oil change before tucking her away for the winter. I ended up waiting for it and in doing so saw (3) different people coming in for test drives of the new Civic sedan. One was driving a 98 Accord similar to the (2) that I owned in the past, one person had a current body Fusion-Martin and another had a last gen Rentibu.
In higher trim lines it actually looks decent, pretty unique for the segment. Mini-Crosstour, yes but it translates well to the smaller car.
Also noticed quite a few new XC90's. Handsome looking SUV, I'm really curious what they do with the XC60 which is still competitive but now going on 6 years old... Oh and also saw one of those Cross Country S60's which if there was ever an ode to those Subaru Legacy Outback sedans, it was this.
They sure are taking their time refreshing the XC60---this car is getting old in the tooth.
It's Volvo. It'll be 10 model years old when it is replaced - just about their average.
Based on their plan, the just introduced XC90 will be the oldest vehicle in their lineup in 2018. The next XC60 - along with the S60 and V60 - will all be on the same platform and the next S40. V40. XC40 running on another new platform.

Can't wait to take my autonomous car to the drive-in.

I think when they merged, Nissan inherited all the Renault designers.

Got behind a nice new XC90 today, and honked at it because the "driver" was apparently a chicken with its head cut off.

He'll probably make it...
Also saw a newer E63 wagon in the workplace parking garage.
