Last week's Luxury Supercar show in Vancouver. The LaFerrari was a big attraction at the show, and after, when it pulled out onto the street and was waiting for a transport truck back to the dealership. More pictures here of new and older cars: Luxury Supercar Show Vancouver

I've heard there's one of those in my area, but haven't seen it yet. Man I'd rather have a 250GT Berlinetta Lusso than that.

Better driven than the one belonging to the Quatari garbage in Beverly Hills anyway, I'm sure.
  • boomchekboomchek Member Posts: 5,516
Yes for sure. I was told that to qualify to purchase one you need to be a serious Ferrari collector, owning several vintage and historic multi million dollar Ferraris.

I am no longer impressed with supercars after seeing the hundreds that Saddam Hussein's son had in his collection - many of which ended up getting destroyed in the mayhem over there. All of which were purchased, of course, with ill-gotten gains. Seeing the Qatari jerks with theirs only adds to my disdain. Until I am convinced otherwise, I will assume that anyone who has one is a Bad Person.

You're not far off. IMO, once a certain price point is reached - maybe middle-upper 100s at the most, the amount of "good" people buying them (at least when new) becomes a small minority.

This is the new Belle Epoque.

Saw a new style C63 on the road, should be a fun thing.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,430
Saw an i8 in traffic today, poor job stopping at a crosswalk, but it is a BMW after all. Also an X4 for those with a difference sense of style.

Transit Connect 7 passenger at lunch out of town today. White. Owners are loving it.

Going to have a nice grouping of sightings coming up in the next few weeks with the Big Hershey Auto Show getting ready to start. You never know what till show up. Mostly older models, but every now and then a new one sneaks in.

Saw 3 6er Gran Coupes - one an M6, 3 new style Bentleys, 1 convertible 2 sedans (maybe the same car), and a new style Range Rover which had a "driver" with his phone to his ear - perfect time for progressive traffic fines. That's my hood.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,430
Saw an i8, kind of a dark grey with blue accent. Also a new XC90, which is a nice comfortable looking thing.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,389
parked at a restaurant, a new Miata (red of course, not even sure if any other colors are out yet). I really like the looks of this style. Can't wait to find out if I fit in it now!

Spotted a new Audi TT H/T today. Sharp.

Also a new GLE Coupe over the weekend. What a beast.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,430
Saw a GLE this afternoon, first one. It has presence - not pretty, but not as obnoxious as an X6. Will probably attract some of the same beloved demographic.
  • robr2robr2 Member Posts: 8,805
    GLE Coupe or GLE CUV?

If the former, I saw one about 3 months ago at the local MB store. Based on the MFR plates, I'm guessing it was the regional rep. IMHO, it is a very homely vehicle answering a question that BMW answered but nobody asked.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,430
    One of these subtle beauties:

Definitely a bit homely, and not a "coupe" no matter the soulless marketing spin. Unfortunately, as I see X6s and X4s regularly, someone did ask the question. There's definitely a demographic for them.
  • robr2robr2 Member Posts: 8,805
Just saw at the local purveyor of MB vehicles, two MB Metrises (Metrrii?). One was a panel sided white work van, the other a blue 7 passenger version.. The latter was adorned with MB Tex. No Monroney stickers.

I was surprised both were wearing Hankook tires.

Got a ride in a new XC60.Seats are comfortable, but ride is stiff and it has some creaks at 1800 miles.
    Also, annoying start/stop.

Volvo doesn't seem to have start/stop figured out very well yet.

I think Hankook is used on a few other MBs too. Maybe they have a good model, or it is just another way for some suits to get a big bonus.

Start/stop on my E is pretty seamless, but it is annoying when creeping in Seattle traffic, or using a multi point turn when backing into a parking spot. Luckily, it is disabled with a simple push of a button.

Today spotted a pretty blue M235 and a GLA45 with the big dorky spoiler and a "driver" with a phone to his ear.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,430
Saw a Maybach S600 on the showroom floor of the local MB dealer today. MSRP ~190K IIRC. They also had a loaded up S63 into the 160s.

I got to see a BMW i8 near Hershey today. It has to be because of the big Hershey Auto Show coming up next weekend.

Oh yeah, at Costco saw one of the Fiat CUV things, and a surprisingly rare sight, an HRV (or they are just blending into the background).
  • berriberri Member Posts: 10,165
Sadly, too many new cars seem to blend in these days :@ Kind of takes the urgency out of buying a new one.

Can it be switched off? I haven't driven the newer version but I absolutely loved the 3.0T-6 with the Polestar tune. That sucker was silly quick.

Over the weekend I saw another GLE Coupe, an X4 and a couple of X6's . It was just that kind of sighting weekend for those. I definitely don't dislike the segment, in fact the GLE in AMG guise is pretty sweet IMO.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
Yeah, you can turn it off. It goes off in Sport mode too.

What is the sports car that looks like a camaro? I have seen it and there is no marking on it to even give you an idea of what it is. It looks like the new Chevy camaro but my dad doesn't agree with me. Maybe someone else knows.
  • texasestexases Member Posts: 11,109
    A Dodge Challenger?
  • fordgirl15fordgirl15 Member Posts: 90
I haven't seen the new challenger yet so cudnt say. It was red and had a black gas cover. I looked up the camaro and that's what it looked like. I'll look at the challenger.
  • fordgirl15fordgirl15 Member Posts: 90
It doesn't look like the challenger. The front didn't hardly look like a camaro but the shape was camaro. If that helps any!
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    Corvette?
  • fordgirl15fordgirl15 Member Posts: 90
Too big for a corvette. It almost looked like a mix of different models in the sports car world.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,389
    Hyundai Genesis coupe?

  • fordgirl15fordgirl15 Member Posts: 90
Nope. Ok. Let me get myself straight. It was the shape of a MUSTANG, had the front of a DODGE, but it looked like a camaro. Bigger than the corvette. Ok. So it almost looked like a cross between Ford, dodge, Chevy. Like I said there was no marking to distinguish it from other sports car. It was a sports car. I have only seen one other one besides that one.

New small Porsche CUV while I was out walking. Somehow, they got it to sound like it has a flat 6. It doesn't right?
Yesterday driving by the back lot of a car dealer a Super Duty 4x4 on 4 vertical 4x4's (someone stole the wheels).

Was it one of the Pontiac Trans Am body kits?
