Anyone read the 02-00 Car and Driver about the specialty Silverados?

Good article, apparently GM gives 14 trucks to different universities around the country to modify to use E85 ethanol. With many other mods, like on board computer, boring out the engine, supercharger, and even twin-turbocharging the engine, these machines reach 480 bhp!!!

Well I not a big fan of changing the type of gas in my truck, but later in the future I would like to do other engine mods, to show what my machine can do. Does anyone know where I could find a twin-turbo to outfit my truck?

I am aware of some superchargers that is made for my truck. The only way I know to get a twin-turbo is contacting Lingenfelter Engineering.

I would like to know what you thought of it if anyone had any major engine mods (supercharger, etc.)to their 4.8L or 5.3L? Any other information about the article, or some of the other trucks in the contest would be helpful!

    Any comments?

It's true (although I understand why you question the dealer) the engine oil cooler comes standard with the 6.0 and tow package.

No I haven't put dash or seat covers on and probably never will. I use 303 protectant on the dash for UV protection.

As far as the truck being perfect, my advise is don't look too close. And whatever you do don't read topic #1392!

Took the truck (2k 2500 4x4) in for a new radio, rough idle, door click, and no oil minder reset confirmation.

No luck on idle, it had the latest code version and they said it was normal (no surprise). The door click is gone, ya. Found out they will only replace the radio with a refurb from LA and it's now on order. They didn't get to the oil light yet. If they actually find a solution I'll post it because I know other people with 2000s have the same problem.

Are you sure about it being a 2k 2500? I was informed that the 2k 2500 was not going into production until May or June. Looks though they didn't know what they were talking about.

Have a nice day, and LOL on your truck. :)!

    I've had my 2000 2500 since August 13th.,1999

So I would have to say may or June is not correct.

Hell...2 months after that 2001 models will be out.

    Vince,

Yeah....8600 miles and I have yet to see an oil minder light come on...or even an acknowledgement of the reset.

    oh well

    Don't really follow that anyway.

I was going to ask ya how that "purrr" was. even after all the miles...I still have a little bit...although it DOES seem a little better than it was?

perhaps not using air is to account for it?

    it still seems better though

how many miles on the beast?
