    ...lighten up man...

You have got many years to learn to take this stuff more of a relaxed way...

If I want to make fun of you.....you would know it...

What ever happened to that Trucklover dude??

I made fun of him....big time...and well....we see what happened to him.

Personally I don't care if you stay at home for 20 more years and buy a new truck every month....it's your life..

Now lighten up.....and share those cookies!!

Does anyone have a spray in bed liner??? If so how do you like it? I am thinking of getting a spray in because im not getting a cap or lid and the truck will be outside and i figure the spray in will help prevent rust. Thanks

Got a job outta hs have 2 now. i am actually at one now every half hr or 45 min i check the post when i get bored i hate sitting at a desk all day. I Put a bunch of money into cd's thats why i cant actually buy the truck till july or i will lose money then. The 4 grand savings is coming from my dad luckily. I am serious about not having payments i really dont want to pay for anything besides gas and insurance. One guy had a truck at work and his truck was worth more than his house he bought the year before he said his truck payments are more than his hous payments thats what i dont want. Happy bday Ray.

47 !..? I wouldn't dare pick on ya.....you might have a heart attack at that age. I'll bet even sliding the mouse and typing takes a lot of effort!

I'll stick to Ryan, he can go and get a hug from mom when he gets shook up.

I've got graphite leather interior with Sunset Gold exterior, and I get lots of compliments on the truck. I wanted the tan leather too, but I'm glad I got the graphite.

I have a rhino liner, and have had no problems with it. Couple of small scuffs from moving some really heavy furniture, but I don't see em every day because I have a tonneau cover.

Have a Line-X. Looks and works awesome, spray over rail. Line-X is much stronger and less gobby that most of the others out there. I love it and would not even consider putting a drop in liner in my new truck.
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
The gold with the graphite is awesome thats what my dads new blazer is. It really goes great with the truck.

That was my 1st choice, problem was that my wifes car was the same color and I did not want two vehicles the same. Went with Ryan blue, er, I mean Indigo Blue.

BB: Carpal tunnel from the mouse so I push it around with my cane. LOL

Actually I still actively play Ice Hockey twice a week in a men's league we have here to keep myself thinking I'm young, the next morning the muscles let me know otherwise and if I can't find the ice I go to the roller blades..luv that BenGay

Ryan: Never thought of putting in a rhino liner only because once it's there you can't remove it. I have a cap with highest possible clearance installed & use the rubber bedliner mat which has now been utilized in 3 different Chevy's I've owned. My theory is the bed of a truck should be used for just that purpose because it does'nt resell the truck for you. My 88 Ext.Cab (LB 2wd 4.3) bed was clean when I removed the mat but you could see that the firewood I loaded into it had made some dents/impressions and the sidewalls were scratched but the outside is what I keep up on, unfortunately the cancer had set in so I sold it this past September while it was still somewhat decent looking for $5300 & ordered the new truck. Only thing I had done to that was put ARE wheels & 275/60 series tires on it, and of course it was Pacific BLUE Metallic.

When you use those bedliners everything slides around like crazy if you don't tie it down.

    PS thanks for the quarter.

The new Duraliner I have has a "grit" like built into the finish. it holds items in place real good.

    I think it's somewhat new?

I remember taking armor all to the bed liner of my buddy's truck and having his little brother ride back there....

    ....we were cruel...

    ...I still am!!

    hehehee

    Vince4,

Did you ever get those catch -all inserts for your truck?

After 2 days of slush and snow....I have determined 2 things...

    1 - I need better mats
2 - I should have installed the Mud Flaps!

Let me know how much they were and from where?

  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
haha ur mean tim u were the bully at school werent u? I armor all my duraliner once a year usually in july actually looks nice. Under it though ewww little bit of rust thats why i think the spray in is better. I have all kinds of stories about beds with dents in them i work in a lumber yard where we load shingles (i have seen a short bed 1978 chevy haul 2 pallets of shingles thats a total of 48 on a pallet so 96 total shingles on a half ton truck) Chevys are like rocks. Only thing i heard is the new trucks use cheaper sheet metal and dent easier and ive seen it on brand new trucks at work but i dont plan on hauling much at first maybe down the road u know when i move out tim to haul my stuff away haha.

    Ryan
  • mdw1000mdw1000 Member Posts: 171
What lumberyard do you work in (if you don't mind me asking)? I'm from the Chicago area, and I think you said you were as well.
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
I live in hammond indiana 45 min from chicago. I work at menards SAVE BIG MONEY AT MENARDS haha

Tonight on 80/94 a major highway i seen 3 semis hauling 2000 Tahoes i thought they were gonna be out march? I guess they are comin out early maybe why u cant get a 4 door truck?

    Ryan
  • mgdvhmanmgdvhman Member Posts: 4,157
    Hmmm..

    well....I wasn't the bully....wasn't really a jock...not on the A-list..(thank god!)...but not the geek either?

I mixed with a variety of people...

But I do remember times like leaving a pest like kid in the hall...on his belly...with his legs and arms all tied up in the air like you would rope a calf in the rodeo?....That's not Bully...or is it?

...and then there was the time when we got a ton of guys...turned a Chevette sideways in the parking spot...so tight between cars...no way in hell it was moving until the other cars moved...(which happened to be...well..OURS!)

...and then there was the time...

    well...OK

    Kind of...yeah...OK..Bully?

    Those were the days...

    - Tim

As for rust under the liner....I checked my last one a few times....under was pretty good...the most damage was caused by the over the rail part....the new one I got is an under the rail...and in a few years when it's gone...I really don't care what it looks like to be honest?

Spray ins can't take a shovel....which is the most used tool for me in my truck bed....so drop ins for me..
  • bud_light_dudebud_light_dude Member Posts: 330
There are two of the 2000 Tahoes at a dealer here in East Kansas. From what they talked, these two aren't the first two they have had on the lot.
  • bluebeastbluebeast Member Posts: 258
Boy am I glad I don't have to decide between spray in or a liner, nope just a rubber mat for me. Of course I'm only a "recreational user of the box". But that's been the case since my first love (1972 Chevy Cheyenne Super short box fleetside...owned her fer 8 years!). And ya know what?, It didn't take me months to decide what color to buy before ordering!! Those were the days,,,when color was not one of the most important features. Ryan, you weren't even a twinkle in Daddy's eyes yet!!

Are u gonna trade your truck in in 2001 and get the HD? I was reading on the motor trend site they are gonna have a new 6 liter that has 325 hp now. Oh wait ur probably gonna get the 8.1 L right? WOuld u get the 1 ton or 3/4 ton like u have now? Just curious

    Ryan
  • mgdvhmanmgdvhman Member Posts: 4,157
    it...not trade in....summer of 2001...for a 2002 Model...

    2500 HD..Like I have now...

    No 8.1 for me..

    - Tim
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
Why arent u gonna go with the 8.1 L????? U cant handle the power tim??? Im guessing u dont need the power. I bet they will be nice especially with the new 5 speed trans you can get.

    Ryan
  • mgdvhmanmgdvhman Member Posts: 4,157
...I have handled much more power in cars than that truck will ever see..

besides.....I have no need for a 5 speed...regardless of how strong it will be.

This topic has turned to poo

    later man

    till the new year??

I just got back from the Chevy dealer. I have now graduated to those who are waiting.

Placed order with dealer today for:

    2500 Silverado Ext. Cab 4x4 3-door
    Onyx Black Exterior
    Graphite Leather Interior
    LT Package (which includes everything)
    HD Auto Trans
    4.10 Axle Ratio
    Z85 Firm Ride Suspension
    NZZ Skid Plate Package
    HD Trailering Special Equipment
Standard Tires and Polished Aluminum Wheels

Purchased using GM supplier discount, which is approximately $250.00 under dealer invoice. I can't wait for it to get here. Dealer has received about 12 3/4 tons in last 3 days, most of which are ordered/sold units, and has allocation to order more. Just one order ahead of mine.

Time to go tire, and cap shopping!!!

Well 7 hrs later I'm done washing, prep & swirl remover and wax, CST 11pm !! Must say I've tried alot of wax stuff and Meguiars Gold class products are great. No more Zymol (not the Target, Kmart Zymol....the real stuff). If this Gold class hadn't worked out so well I was gonna try some of the Zaino Bros stuff. 75 degrees here today!!!

Austin, Tx. And no I am not a Texan, just a Colorado transplant until I get my 30yrs in with my company (9 more to go). However I must say Austin is a very nice city, good climate (except the July - August heat gets old). Truck pretty much stay clean most days, have to wash the dust off every couple of weeks.
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240

I would love to live in Austin. How is the industry down there for a computer\network tech? I am an MCSE, CNE, and working on CISCO CCNA.

I have always been enticed to live in the Austin area, but have never thought I could afford it. The housing and such is fairly expensive from what I have gathered. Is that true?

Sorry to get off topic. Your post about the good weather had me curious as to where you were at.
  • mgdvhmanmgdvhman Member Posts: 4,157
    Congrats.

Aside from the Graphite interior....That combo seems really Familiar....hmmmmmm

    No locker?.....good man

You getting a Lid or cap?

Caps ruin the look of a bad [non-permissible content removed] truck....(no offense)

Any news on when a 4th door will be built and delivered to a customer? This bbs is now about bedliners? How about the new ford supercrew? anyone like that? 4.5' bed? Also, i posted a link a while back regarding the gm composite box which needs no liner, you should review it if you haven't purchased the truck yet..
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
Its gonne be $400 - $600 i think a bed liner is better and cheaper, that composite box sounds interesting just polish and wax out scratches. i dont think for that money though its worth it. Ford supercrew cabs hmmm well better than the tundraa oh hey Tim i seriously seen the first tundra on the road today never before have i actaully seen one on a road only on lots says something about their popularity at least around here.

Ryan's right! That 8.1L is too much power for you! Better order a Tacoma, now!
  • etohetoh Member Posts: 13
To everyone who recommended the 3/4 over the 1/2 you were absolutely right. That 6.0 litre engine is just a monster. What a great handling truck. Plus, this 2500 silverado cost me less than all but the stripped down half tons I've been looking at. Go figure. I paid 700 over invoice (28,900) with a very generous trade in allowance. I went to the local GM dealer and told them what I was offered and they called me a liar and accused me of low-balling them. I'm so sick of dealers, if I hear "If I can do it will you buy today" one more time I think I'll go postal.

    2500 HD 4X4 auto trac
    All bells and whistles
    Trailer Package
    3.73 auto trans
    265 Kelly safaris (nice touch)
    skid plates

Nice to find one on the lot that's just how you would order it. jim
  • scottayscottay Member Posts: 91
week of 03 Jan. in whosyerdaddyville. I figure six weeks for final delivery to SoCal.

As for the composite bed, these would seem susceptable to delaminating and water/ice damage. Ever see composites burn? Talk about Hazmat!

Hey Tim, looks like I will have obsessed with the 4door for less time (five months Oct-Feb) than you did the 2500! Go figure. LOL

    Quad,

You first Bud!....I'll be right after you to get one!....(don't place any money on this Idea though..)

Who knows...maybe I will get an 8.1 next time?

    ...probably a 6.0 though...

I think a Tacoma was offered to me?......They said for no charge they could toss it in the back for the kids to play with?.(or was that the Tundra?)
    ....I figured...No Kids...so why get it?
