I have the E&G grill and the fog light grills. The dealer charged $100 to install the grill and $375 for the grill. The fog light grills I put on my self ,I found out the suppler was about 8 miles from my house. So I drove down there and bought the fog light grills, I could have had them install the grill there for less then the dealer charged but at that time I did not know they were there.Oh my grill is the stainless one with the center bar.
What stereo did you have in the 300C before installing Sirius? Do you know what kit you installed? I wanted the satellite radio, but as you know it can be hard to find on the AWD... so I got the Navigation model radio and was told that the Sirius can be installed at the dealership. But now I am being told that it would be an add on component...
Recently I visited the car show here in NewYork because I'm going to purchase a 300 in June. I couldnt help but noticed that the 22's on the car looked a little close to the wheel wells... I stuck my hand between the tire and the inside wheel well and there was virtually no clearance.
In NewYork it will rub for sure.from the force of the pot holes. Is there a way to lift or adjust the shocks or suspension to make the tire to wheel well clearance at least higher another two inches or so to prevent it from rubbing?? I MUST have them 22s I know it'll ride like krap but I have to have them..lol
I ORDERED THE SPLASH GUARDS FOR MY 300C SILVER , AND HAD THE DEALER PAINT THEM TO MATCH THE CAR AND THEY LOOK GREAT . THE DEALER SAID MINE WAS THE ONLY ONE THEY DID SO FAR.----FRANK, :
I have the factory remote start. Cold Here in Jersey Too. Only drawback is when you start it when it is dark out and the headlights are on the automatic setting (far Left) when you get into the car you have to remember to turn key then Step on Brake THEN turn Key Right one more time so lights will go on. Took a couple of times to remember (they also give you a cheat sheet (business card). Had to teach drivers in my house to do the same. So they dont think the thing is broken or they manually turn on the lights and then forget to turn them off on exit.
biglescobar: I have a Chrysler 300 and I am interested in buying an aftermarket grill. I notice that you have ordered an E&G grill. They make several. Which one did you order and why?
I would like to purchase an aftermarket grill for my Chrysler 300. There are several available. I would like some information on which are the best and which are the worst. E & G seem to offer several models, however, there are others. Help! CurtisR
Autotrucktoys.com carries a Mopar Performance by Borla chrysler 300c stainless steel cat back dual exhaust. Has anyone had this installed, or have an opinion on this exhaust? Does anyone know if my warranty will be voided, if I have this Mopar product(exhaust) installed? Also, any opinions on air intake systems. Can it be installed without causing a problem to the engines computer?
Curtis I did a lot of research on which grill to put on my 300 touring. I liked the aluminum vertical grill but would not put aluminum on the front of my car. For the diffference in price between the tripple chrome grill and the stainless grill, I settled for the E & G stainless steel mesh grill which I am very happy with. It is a real head turner. Our local Chrysler dealer charges $550.00 for the same grill plus $85.00 to install it. I paid $284 which included shipping. Joe D.
Joe Thanks for the info. What is the problem with an aluminum grill? I have seen several advertised and they look very nice. Where did you buy your E & G grill? They make several different models and seem to be the major supplier of aftermarket grills for the 300. Do you have any other accessories? Thanks, Curtis R.
Added the remote start to our 300 2 days ago no problems so far. it was put in by a subcontractor of the dealership. i was told there was no factory parts for the option.
Has anyone got any definitive information about aftermarket wheels on the 300C AWD? I know the bolt pattern is 5x115, but there is conflicting info about the offset. I have read 32-45 and 40-45. The OEM AWD wheels are a little pedestrian but I don't want to make any changes that would mess up the integrity of the (phenomenal) ride. Cheers!
Curtis I used to work exclusively with aluminum in a plant that built jet fighters. If the grill is made out of pure aluminum it will not oxidize. To make it strong you need to mix the aluminum with other metals but if it does not have a coating of pure aluminum it will begin to oxidize after a period of time. As for the chrome grill...it is twice the price of the stainless grill and I think the stainless is just as good looking and a much better value. I purchased my grill from Automotive concepts. Follow the following link, speak to Chris and you can get a better deal than I did. This one is selling for $268.50 at a buy at now price. Good luck..........Joe D
Joe Thanks for the info. That answers my questions. I was a little afraid of an aluninum grill because of corrosion and being just plain weak. I did not want a grill that would be bent by a large bug. I will buy stainless.
There is now a 1/18th scale diecast model of the 300C available. It is made by Maisto and is available in Black, Silver and Red. If you do an internet search for Maisto and go to their website you can find links to some vendors that would carry it. The prices are reasonable, $18.95 to $29.95. The model is not perfect but is pretty good for the price.
">I too, have purchased the E&G stainless grill (and from Chris at Automotive Concepts, great service) and instead of prying off the old center emblem or using the E&G emblem, I purchased a smaller version of the wing emblem (that comes pre- curved and with adhesive) and it looks like the small Bentley emblem. Pretty cool. You should check this out. What a difference then using that little oval.
My mud flaps were also painted to match my car back in february. Guess what? They're some hurtin' puppies now. For some reason the paint doesn't adhere too well to the plastic flaps even with the right prep. So has it been told to me by the paint shop who by the way will paint them again for free. If it happens again, I'll buy new black ones again. I hope you or anyone else has better luck then me. :confuse:
Let me try this again. I installed the Borla exhaust system. I love it, and from what I'm being told it does not void your warranty as long as you don't mess with the catalytic converters. My only problem is the cross brace that fits over the exhaust system once you have it installed. The pipe hits on it when driving on a bumpy road. I'm thinking about removing the cross piece altogether. I'm going to contact Chrysler to see if that will have any effect on anything.
I have a cool vanilla 300 touring, got the bentley grille, 20" chrome wheels, and chrome pillar covers. I just ordered fender trim, stainless steel fuel door, and aluminum wiper blades. Now I'm looking for >>and have seen chrome mirror backs anyone know where I can find them? I've been looking but can't locate any. I'm also getting the vertical door kit (Lambo Doors). I think after all that I'll be done dressing it up.
Thanks for the info!! I really appreciate any feedback on how the exhaust affects the performance, both horsepower and sound-wise. I am leaning towards Borla, but the price is higher than most other brands. $845.00 is the lowest I've seen on the internet. Any thoughts on air intake systems?
Hi, I put a K & N air filter on. I'm satisfied with it. They say if you put on a custom exhaust you need to increase the air flow to the engine. K & N was cheap enough and they have a good name. It was easy,, just replace the original with the K & N filter and make sure no one throws it out on you. They just need perodic cleaning and oiling and they will last a long time. I took off the cross piece that the exhaust pipe was hitting. No one could give me an answer on what to do so we'll see. It sure does sound good now. I was expecting a more throaty sound from Borla but you don't really hear it untill you jump on it. Love my 300C.
I put on the Borla cat back, AirAid induction, and the Jet power control module. I had to pull off the cross member also. The one problem I do have is that when the car goes to 4 cylinder mode, I sounds significantly different. Anybody run into this? I try not to go into 4 cyllinder mode because the sound drives me crazy..... If I had it to do over again, I'd put the Borla 140125 on and not the 140112. I like the sound better. I'm really happy with the Jet module (although it was a tight fit) because it fixes the "soft" shift points when you really get into hard throttle. Dealer had no problem with the Borla and the AirAid. They suggested that if I bring the car in for anything that would require them to hook it up to the computer, I should probably pull the Jet module off. I have that down to a science now.
Has anyone installed the 3M or Llumar paint protection clear bra on the 300C? Any photos or installer recommendations in the Los Angeles area are most welcomed, thank you!
Hi Buckhead,,, Yes, I have the same noise when in 4 cyl mode. From what I've read on other sites it's a common occurance. I think you get some noise at certain rpms also. Did you have to change the thermostat when you put in the jet module? Did you notice any increase in rpms? How fast have you pushed it. I hit about 135 on a nice stretch but I got nervous and backed off.
I didn't change the thermostat because I didn't get the "off road" version. I installed each modification incrementally so that I could tell what each one added. The Jet module was the last add on. I did notice more power when I jumped on the throttle. Seems to really kick in above 3000 RPM. Biggest advantage is that it seems to really improve shift points. Previously the transmission seemed indecisive when shifting into the next gear under heavy throttle. The jet fixed that. Under normal driving you don't notice any of the mods including the Borla. But when you jump on it, you really know it!
Top end? Backed off at 125 because I don't trust the continentals. I'll wait for them to wear out (which seems to be happening too fast) the I'll put pilot sports on it.
I will leave it up to the group (after enoughfeedback) to help me decide between the borla model 140125 or the 140112 catback for my brand new black 300 c. I want the most performance (most important) but dont want alot of noise, as this is an every day driver and i hope to take it touring this late summer......anybody on here with either of these exhausts, or a better alternative, lets hear it! Thanks
Hi, I have a Silver 3C w/ 22's & all the grilles! Have 2 problems... I need the chrome front license plate bracket and my tranny was tripping (Chrysler is currently replacing tranny and module). Anyone out there with similar problems/needs? Oh yeah.. I'm new to the group.
I just had it done and looks good. You can see a hair line edge along the hood about 6" up going all the way across but it hard to see from 10 feet back. And way better than putting a regular bra on. Xlnt tint in Anaheim did mine. I reccomend them. It took about 6hr to get done.
Has anybody lowered their Chrysler 300? How is the ride? How are the fender clearances? What about the road clearances? How does it handle in the corners? Was it difficult to install? Did the alignment people have any trouble alinging the front and rear suspensions? What did the dealerships garage people say? "Thanks"
Hello All, I NEED some input on this. My 300c was in the service shop from 5/16 to 6/5. All because of a new problem that has developed with the 300's. It seems the condensation that developes when the air conditioner is on leaks in the tranny module casing causing major problems (especially between 1200 and 1600 rpms). Chrysler has JUST ( 6/2) put on a service alert to all its dealerships. They are suppose to reroute a certain hose that will stop the problem ( but they wont replace the damaged tranny. Well now my 300c is back in the shop, you guessed it, tranny problem along with the torque converter! Anyone else with this problem or did I just get the first 300c LEMON! Oh yeah... I'm still looking for the Front License Plate Bracket.
Can you get any details on the service alert, the name or number? Is this in Canada or the U.S. If issued in Canada will it be in the US as well? What year is your car?
This board is for accessories and modifications. See the Problems and Solutions board for the details of the Technical Service Bulletins regarding the 300C transmission issues.
Hey, I just lowered my 300c. Used the eibach pro-kit. lowered the car 1.6". They also offer a sportline kit that lowers 2". I traded out the stock wheels for some 20" alloys and 40 series radials. I'm happy with the front, but the back is still 11/8" higher than the back. I hear that the self-leveling rear shocks will not allow the rear to sit level with the front. problem is, I don't have those shocks. Anyway, the ride was not effected, fender clearence is fine (even in an off camber situation), handling is great, dealer installation with no hassles, don't know about alignment til after next wednsday.
