I am about to purchase hondacare for my 2016 civic and was wondering about other peoples experiences with it past the original 3yr 36000 mile warranty.

These extended warranties are more like a bet. The warranty company is betting your car doesn't break and you are betting that it does. Whatever the extended warranty costs is the amount of the bet. If your car doesn't break, you lose that bet. If it does break----then do you "win"? The answer is: "It depends", because many (most) extended warranties have EXCLUSIONS that it will not pay for. You should never ever buy an extended warranty without first carefully reading these exclusions.

Only you can decide if the "bet" is a good one. In my opinion, the bet is better on some cars than on others.

Many people suggest that instead of an expensive extended warranty, you just put a little money aside every month as a "repair fund", should you need it after the factory warranty is over.

I have a quote from Hyannis Honda for $0 deductible 8yr 120k mile for $1015 for my 2016 Honda Civic Touring.  It is a bet just as you say, but I'll be happy to get it for that price.

That looks like a great price. If your history involves keeping a new car for 8 years, it might be worth it.

That is a good price I have to say. But remember, read the exclusions!

And make sure it's a 'Hondacare' policy, backed by Honda, and not a third-party warranty. Those can be worse than worthless.

It is hondacare and backed by Honda and I am planning on keeping it that long.  Thanks to all who commented.  My dealer sold me a third party warranty from zurich and I quickly returned it at full price after some research.  Thanks again guys

That is a phenomenal price on the Honda Care at $1050 for 8 year, 0 deductible plan.

Anymore, as complex as cars have become, that sounds like a good value. Even Hondas break sometimes and if you use it only once it'll pay for itself. For that price I would have bought it.
