I think those would look much better if they painted the giant nostrils the same color as the body
You should host a dinner party and get the details sorted out ASAP.
I did not with the Atrai, unfortunately. Went for triple what I think it should have. Oh well.

Finally got to drive the new Corolla Cross for more than a few minutes this morning & to be honest, can see me driving one in the near future without any issues. As long as it has the JBL audio system in the package, we're all in. Not as engaging as my Golf is but overall, think it'll be the perfect new vehicle for me going forward.

Pulled the deposit on the Elantra today. I’m not really all that bummed.
Washington is generally the same. You fill out the title and registration applications, pay tax and registration fees, and leave with plates and registration. Title follows in 2-3 weeks from Olympia. There are a few select DOL locations that can do quick titles for a surcharge and give it to you same day - handy for when you’re selling a car and lose the title.
I had to venture back into the hustling real world from the sleepy hamlet that we've moved to; a long day's journey (ok 60 miles) to bring back the Swiss watch I bought for myself in memory of my late father (we shared an appreciation of cars and watches). An automatic, it was not holding a proper charge after removal from the wrist, under warranty, no issue. But, offline for 4-6 weeks. And much to my chagrin, no loaner Omega Speedmaster of any ilk. I hate it when that happens.
It seemed silly to drive all that way (again, a swift, serene and high MPG journey in the calm, cool and collected A7) and not do something more than turnaround from the jewelry store and head home. So, after a Chick fil A lunch, and a free tank of radiation (thanks, Shopper's World!), I headed northeast to the very tony western 'burbs of Boston. An AutoQuarterMile on Rte. 20: BMW, Jag/LR and Bentley/Lambo/Alfa. My raison d'etre; to drive an '18 Jag F-Type S Coupe, CPO. Silver (pewter-ish) over Brogue (darker brown, just lovely).
How did it drive? In a word: Raucous. Ever present exhaust, a lovely sound but constant. Decent ride over the somewhat rutted roads, road noise. A rattle on the dash, I believe the rising center dash vent to be the culprit. Handling, aces; tight steering, the cat went where directed, with (of course?) more road feel than the Teutonic magic carpet that I arrived in. Acceleration, especially in "Sport" was pleasantly violent (AWD), but it seemed the tranny did a lot of shifting in the early gears (even upon gentle requests from the go foot). Not easy to have a smooth take off. Brakes, total confidence.
Visibility, meh, as long as I can see what I need to pass, right? Seat, while lovely to look at and heavily side bolstered, my lower back did begin to bother me after a not too long while in the throne. The tech, well-advance for 2012. Only an 8" center screen, I believe. Nice analog gauges in front of me, though. Of course, I'm now used to the beautiful graphics of the Starship Audi, so not fair there. But it seemed to work. With AWD and the still plenty of life Conti Extreme DWS 06 tires, a snow beast no doubt.
After the test drive, young sales dude tried lightly to usher me into his den of inequities, but I noted that if he couldn't offer me 0% financing, no reason to move forward today. He couldn't, we didn't. I did go inside to use the restroom and grab a pack of Lorna Doone's. And, to my surprise and delight, see the sales/delivery dude who took care of me that long New Year's eve '13 XF negotiation. He's been there 20 years, loves his job. Nice.
So, I ponder and struggle with the third car concept. I don't want to part with the A7, it's grown on me as it accomplishes its mission with such grace and elegance. As would the F-Type, I imagine. Just with brute force and Motorhead exhaust noises.
After, I wondered over to Fantasyland, the B/L/AR dealer. There, spotlessly clean was a silver '18 Aston Martin DB 11. Dare I? Alas, no as I was late to pickup the MIL to bring back to Sleepy Hollow.
I had also hoped to drive even further north, to test drive a '15 Porsche 911 Carrera 4, I looked forward to seeing the Anthracite Brown exterior/Luxor Beige/Mahogany wood (steering wheel, too!) interior and driving to compare to the Jag. But, the stinkers sold it out from under me. Not surprising, looked fairly pristine and priced, for this current lousy market that is.
So, I'll ponder a bit on the Jag. And, likely let it be sold out from under me; the stinkers.
QBReldzen, the crown will continue to wear well upon your heads. For this day, I continue to be a dilletante.

Flame Suit On
So I’ve always wanted a convertible. As you all know there are not many four seat options out there. I’ve always toyed with one of these. They are pretty reliable and will hold the four of us. I know it’s dog slow and a not a handler but would be perfect for the shore.
Wife says it’s a “chick” car. I thought this one wasn’t too bad.

Yeah the pricing is a bit high, that’s for sure

That said, I’d like to have one but not at a price that’s close to original sticker. You could buy 15 of my convertible for that.

Yeah it’s just a thought. Not sure why they didn’t put the 3.6 in there. At least it would have been quick in a straight line.
I’m all over the map with a replacement vehicle. My heart is always with a sedan, but a ‘vert would be nice to have and a small truck would be awesome for trips to the beach.

I saw one of these yesterday in this color and thought it looked like the perfect choice for your use case:
I wonder how much a nice used New Beetle convertible goes for these days.
2017 Cadillac ATS Performance Premium 3.6
My sister in law had a Sebring convertible and it had a ton of cowl shake. Not sure if the later models were better.
Agree on the price. Very high but in today’s market for something with under 10K miles it’s not absolutely nuts.

Putting my own flame suit on, I don’t subscribe to the notion of chick cars. Drive what you like - or in the case of most of us here - drive everything at one point or another.
Congrats! Mrs. @breld’s BMW will likely get here before the Maverick I ordered in January.
As for the Beetle, that’s a whole different set of problems.

I like the Buick. Just not black leather in a convertible. That is not a chick car. Triple white golf convertible, now that is!
What about a mustang? Not enough back seat?

Something like this. I know the miles are up there. At least it won’t be slow! Just an example close by.

Yeah Mustang back seat is tough even for kids. Would certainly be plenty of power. The Cascada probably would be too slow at the end of the day. I mean our XC90 would beat it in a drag race.

So I left the G35 up on CL for a couple days just for S and Gs. I’m reminded of how much I absolutely despise selling privately.
——————————————-
Listing a car on CL isn’t really an effort to sell a car as much as it’s a way to find as many strokes out there as humanly possible. You get what you pay for. But, I wish you luck.

You know, of the 3 VWs, I remember the diesel the most clearly. Strange car, different from anything else I have ever owned so it tends to stick in my mind.
I got the same notice.
But, since my 2018 already comes with 6yr/72K warranty, going to 8/80 on the water pump means very little.

I've read quite a bit about it; I think I'd prefer the F87; I don't care for the new digital IP and I think the styling of the M2C is simpler and more attractive- at least based on the looks of the new M240i.

Rode in my daughters new CX30 this weekend. It was quite nice. Even roomy enough in the back seat for 2 tall men. She likes it so far, and lives being able to go places any time she feels like

What exactly does it say? From what I got was if you had to replace the water pump, they'd pay you back for what you laid out to fix it. If nothing gone wrong yet, they'd extend the warranty on it for a bit longer. I really only gave it a quick look/see...am I correct here?

Looks like they are extending the warranty on your water pump (even your already replaced under warranty water pump) to 8 yrs/ 80k miles. Applies for both the Golf and Audi.
