I assume the Macan is like the RDX. Drives like one of their sedans. Just higher.
Maybe? I mean it's a crossover. But, the only sedans they have are the Panamera or Taycan (EV), so it's not really the same. I guess the Panamera might be close, but it seems like a longer wheelbase.
Got a compliment at work the other day as to how nice the Golf looks. He also asked if it was a new vehicle and didn't believe it when I told him it's just 10 years old now. Guess garaging it helps and that ceramic wax coating I had put on maybe four years ago keeps it very shiny. Must admit, I don't wash & wax it like I used to do...was pretty anal about that back in the day, but now, just don't have it in me to care so much. Have definitely decided to wait till the 2025 GTI's come out as I do prefer the new bigger tablet infotainment size and looks like it'll have knobs again plus keeping the same sized vehicle is the right thing to do. So, will be doing the coolant flush & the front brakes sooner then later and wait till maybe 2026 to purchase. Will of course be watching the prices/finance rates and won't pass a 0% rate if one comes my way. But, am finally ready o give up the current Golf's keys now.

Hopefully, but unlike most, I don't enjoy the high seating position. I keep hearing the song, "Here's to Mr. Bus Driver, Bus Driver, Bus Driver!"
How many times did the kids sing that to you, @oldfarmer50 !
And, since it will be for me, likely a Macan S.

@laurasdada, Their new ad didn't convince you to reconsider going back to Jaguar?
I hadn't seen it, so I just googled it. Sir William Lyons is likely no longer resting in peace.

It appears that we are not the demographic. I can only hope that the product will be outstanding.
My XK and XF were just such beautiful machines.

Different strokes and all like that, but I’m with you when it comes to seat height. I will continue to drive coupes and sedans as long as I’m physically able. The nice thing about my wife’s E84 X1 is that it sits only fractionally higher than a 3 Series. In addition, the xDrive has a RWD F/R torque distribution of 40/60 so combined with the M Sport suspension it’s actually entertaining to drive.
So, just bringing this around to the Gateway Timeout issue again.... I am finding that if I press the "Post Comment" button and it greys without a refresh, the following is quite consistent:
1. If I do nothing, it will sit there for about a minute before bringing up the dreaded "Gateway Timeout" overlay. 2. If I just press the refresh button at the top of the browser pane after waiting a few seconds, my message will show up in the posted messages without further ado. However, occasionally, it will just clear the comment window without posting my message, so it's always best to copy your message *CTRL-C* before refreshing.
So, if others are having a continued resurgence of this same issue, I suggest #2 in the interest of time.

Well, I’ve found that if I wait until the “Gateway Timeout” screen pops up and then refresh the page, my message will post just fine. I have had a few vanish into the cloud when I tried your option #2.
Edit: Ironically enough, it just happened on this post, and I resolved it with a refresh once Gateway Timeout was displayed.
Well, the timeouts in discussion have become intolerable again. Since y'all were in the midst of a truly scintillating conversation about Jaguar and Lightnings, I created a new thread - Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous (Part 2) - and seeded it with a few of the most recent posts. Like the others, we'll remove the "Part 2" from the title once the conversation gets going.

Let's all hide and watch.
Has nothing to do with being “woke” and everything to do with making absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Wilderness Green. Wife specifically picked that color, and we had to wait two weeks for it to show up from the factory in Indiana.

How far they seem to have fallen. I think it was about 9 years ago when they aired this. Hire this agency again.

Some say there's no such thing as bad publicity, but I am not sure. It does work for some though.
