Only if you're able to stop in Colorado this time and meet up with the contingent here.

    But, I like the idea.

I would truly like to do that! CO isn't terribly far out of the way when I'm making the OH-OR jaunt, but the trick is that I only even have the option of it when I'm solo, because my wife poo-poos any mention of working my "car buddies" into the traveling schedule. And, Mother Nature sides with my wife, it seems, because the last time I tried to get to Denver, she nearly brought the mountain down on me! :D
Ok, if the dates work out, I'm down. CO or OH is fine, since @breld can just pick me up with whatever new thing he just bought from the local dealer.

But seriously, it would be fun to have a rotating CCBA meetup every year or whenever, at a different location every time. While everyone won't be able to attend each event, moving it around would ensure different people would always be meeting up. And pics or it didn't happen.
Ever think about meeting up at the NY Auto Show on April 8th?. I’ll be there and happy to show you a couple of good eating spots nearby.

I just picked up a company Audi. Replaced the key fob battery for $899. No Audis for me, thank you.
When I discovered the Q5 only had one key fob I insisted I have a second fob knowing they were expensive, then about $500. They said no and I walked. On my drive home they called and said we will get a second key fob, deal done.

To avoid losing a sale they probably took one from another Q5 trade-in and reprogrammed it to your car. That’s an advantage of this tech world we live in today.

Eventually, someone will buy a used Q5 from them with one fob.

@breld , I'm sure they do, but if they "helper spring" is still behind the clutch pedal of the WRX, do yourself a favor and just yank that out of there. Not a massive difference, but definitely helps the linearity of the feel rather than that weird abrupt takeup. It also helps, at least on my generation, to just push the clutch like halfway to avoid all that dead space in the bottom half of clutch travel. Makes the shifts smoother.

I installed a UUC Motorwerks clutch stop on the Club Sport- along with their clutch pedal bushings. It made an already good setup even better.

Probably should not have gone for that test drive yesterday. I was doing good being on the wagon, and now I want to go back for more...

was reading car and driver today and they had some stuff about a BRZ. I really like those. So cruised the dealer listings and found zippo nearby. Toyota dealer closest to me did have a Toyota version incoming with a manual, and the dealer near my son (same family of dealers he just bought the Honda at) has an incoming unit but with an automatic.

Assuming I get my current truck sold off, I don't know what would happen if for some reason the replacement never arrives. Or if I get antsy and buy something absurd (a true toy) first. Other than my wife will kill me!

If you get the CX-30 with the turbo engine, I think you'd enjoy it a lot. I've always liked the interiors of Mazda vehicles, but that's just me.

The Kona would be the same - if you got the turbo engine, which I think is standard with the Limited trim.

The Countryman will likely be too expensive - many of the ones I've seen for sale are north of $40K, now, but those may be with AWD. Might be less with FWD only.

The Toyota, as many have said, may be the right size, but I just don't see it having that "fun to drive" factor that you're looking for. You want a smile on your face for every one of those 2000 miles you'll put on the car.

Shop around to see if you can get the exact color combo you want.

I have a lot of time in a CX 30, since my daughter has one. They are nice, but not thinking it will wow you.

I would vote for the Kona (I really liked the one I drove, and the 1.6t/DCT combo is a great drivetrain) or Mini, since you seem to have a big desire for one!

the turbo CX-30 is not that cheap either. Plus I think Sandy doesn't like the center dial controller for the infortainment.

The Kona is easily the best combo of size, zippy driving, and loaded with goodies for a reasonable price. But if his heart wants a Mini, just get one!

Actually we bought the Audi at a VW dealer. They special ordered a new key fob and made an appointment for me at the Audi dealer to have it programmed. That visit to the Audi dealer provided great news that prepaid maintenance was initially purchased for the car and carried over to any subsequent owner. I do get your point and wouldn’t be surprised if that has happened.

Neither does Miracle on 34th Street - guess that's just a movie about kids in New York City, by your definition.

Of course there are exceptions but for the most part Die Hard isn’t one of those. Just because there are scenes where you can see Christmas decorations that doesn’t override the main theme of Die Hard being an action flick.

I’m not trying to convince folks that disagree with me on this since I’m only stating my opinion.

When we deliver to dealers, 9 out of 10 cars have only one fob. This is a big deal sometimes. Most UCM will shrug or grumble a bit but one particular guy went into a rage and yelled at the delivery driver as if he had personally stolen the second key. He wouldn’t accept the car until he talked to the main office salesman.

Customers will often lose a key or take it with them on a plane. The company charges them for replacement but I doubt they bother going through the trouble to get a new one.

They all look similar but I found the specs to differ quite a bit. These have the smallest footprint for a 7k 4-post I could find, which is why I had to wait for them. Nothing else would have fit on the side I put the Fiat on.

On Christmas movies, I would consider Die Hard to be a Christmas movie. At least kinda sorta. I remember when it came out, in the summer of 1988. Being released in the summer time counts against it being considered a Christmas movie, but if people think of it as a Christmas movie, then I guess it is.

My favorite has to be Christmas In Connecticut, the original of course. My second favorite would be Remember the Night, 1940, Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray.

Worked today and in Delray Beach, drove a Mazda CX-30 and the infotainment system really was awful! Guessing it would be better with my Sirius/XM favorites in order and then using the steering wheel controls to go from station to station like I do now. But still, today was annoying but I could do it if I had too.
Heard what y'all are sayin' here & indeed, overall, the Hyundai Kona Limited with the 1.6t engine is really the logical next vehicle. I want the Harmon Kardon audio system with the 12 speakers & it seems to include it. And one good thing is that our Hyundai dealer is only about 2 miles from the house, right outside of where we live. Will definitely get my "cheap to keep" want taken care of, great audio system & the speed from the 1.6t engine to keep that smile on my face. Being we already own a Hyundai and have had two others, that loyalty discount would kick in also which is a nice perk.
Definitely something to think about & am always keeping an eye on their inventory just in case. Think if the perfect colored vehicle shows up with exactly the features I want, I just might finally pull the trigger at some point. Luckily, this dealership has new inventory showing up on a regular basis as they sell a lot of vehicles especially in the northern Broward County/southern Palm Beach County area.

Was a busy day at work and we hit the floor running at 8:45. Supposed to start at 9 but their were two of us there early & he sent us right out to pick up a Chevy Suburban at the BMW/Mini Cooper location. And we worked steadily the whole day until we got off at 3:15. Need to stop back in tomorrow morning to clock out from today as the time has to be in by early Monday morning. Have already been asked to work next Saturday as the weekend lead driver is taking the day off so a body is needed to take his place. So I was asked & of course I said yes. Turned down tomorrow though as I do not want to work five days in a row. Hoping they won't ask me for next Sunday either as now that I work a new schedule, it would mean another five day work period which is a bit too much for me I think. Must admit, was tired this morning & hit the snooze button a couple of times. Did screw up with my iPhone alarm clock though, set it to PM, so it would never have gone off. Just glad I finally got up at 7:20 as I had to eat, shower & pack a lunch.
My new crew like to bring their lunches, something I don't do. But did on Tuesday & Friday & it wasn't that bad. Just need to have lunch variety in the house so I don't get bored eating the same stuff day after day. And might also need a slightly larger lunch pail as the few we got are all a bit on the small side. Going up one size might just give me the added space I need. Or I could just separate stuff and put the smaller one in my back pack which I bring daily since it has my chargers, cords & screw driver plus an extra hat & a pair of sun glasses & reading glasses. Seem to destroy my glasses a lot, glad I buy the cheap stuff at Dollar Tree. For a $1.25, don't really mind if I break them as I always have a spare set to use.

Trade in prices have seemed to take a downward turn and combined with the dirty Carfax, it will be more expensive to trade and get a new vehicle, I’d bet

Reading glasses for $1.25? I'll have to check that out, the cheapest I have found so far is a 3 pack for $9.99.

Sure. Or, better still, no Audi

I just picked up a company Audi. Replaced the key fob battery for $899. No Audis for me, thank you.

What? I replaced my son’s 2022 Audi key fob battery for $0.25. A whole new fob is $400-500.

I replaced the batteries in both my Ford fobs for $5 at dealer prices. I looked at the invoice twice but couldn’t find any other service done. It did include a $199 diagnostic charge.

I finally figured out how to tune the Mazda radios and I’m quite proud of myself. It involves pushing the music symbol button and then pushing the big dial a number of times and then turning it.

I had a recent Mazda as a rental. Wasn’t too thrilled with the controls and layout. Car was a nice drive though.

A few years ago a friend of mine got the runaround from the Cadillac dealer in the same group as my BMW dealer; they wanted a couple of hundred dollars to diagnose and repair a problem with a remote key fob on his wife's CTS- and he would have to leave the car there all day. He drove over to a Chevy dealer(where he knew the service manager) and in less than 45 minutes the problem was resolved- for less than $30.

Was nice that I was able to pick up some extra hours today. Turned down tomorrow as it would've meant working five days in a row, something i'm just not up to right now. I did get asked to work next Saturday as the lead needs the day off so of course I agreed. But once again, won't take on Sunday since it would mean working those five in a row again. Making that decision to work Monday, Tuesday & Friday means I won't be able to work the weekends much as getting those couple days off after the first two seemed more important to me. That extra day of rest is going to benefit me so much. Figure I'll give this new schedule a year and at that time, will re-evaluate keeping the 3-day schedule or going down to two. I don't know how I'm going to feel at that time so best not to make any promises I might not be able to keep. I've noticed the vertigo starting to rear it's ugly head again so am trying to take it a bit easier. And my pain doc lowered the dose of my extended release medication as he was a bit peturbed that I fell again. But don't think the meds had any effect on that. Best I can think is I tripped on the small rugs we keep in front of the sinks & toilet, that's all. A simple klutz move by myself but I decided not to question his decision & see how it goes. Who knows, it might make me less tired all the time.
All I know is that I'm not ready to make any major life chances right now. Just staying the course is all I can expect of myself & will see where this all takes me. All I know is that I'm content in our life right now & feeling better is my #1 priority. Will not fall again I hope as it's no fun & ...it hurts!
