"A set of button pushes can override the lockout on most Lexus NAVs until the next time the vehicle is restarted by pushing the buttons in the following order: menu > volume > top left of screen, bottom left, top left, bottom left > override ((hold for several seconds until override is highlighted and beep occurs) > back. Destinations can then be entered while moving.
No one has yet found a way to dial the phone while moving."
When pressing the "top left/bottom left (twice) on the screen there are no icons there -- just tap those areas to enter the override screen.
It takes a few seconds to do when you start the car, but it works!!!!

Doc, to be honest with ya, I know very well about the Lexus image and some of the truth it is based upon . . . I'm just glad to see you would admit that there is an image problem with the Lexus. :P
And it is certainly nice to see you using Merc's posts to substantiate your perspective. Fascinating that you suddently agree with Merc.
Well, according to some of those past posts made by Merc, which you refer to and indicate you agree with, part of the Lexus perception/image problem is that they look too much like Toyotas.
Perhaps the two of you are right about that.

Thanks for the info.
Now why the LS460 still forces that silly "I agree" thing on us -- who knows?!?!?
That doesn't mean Merc' perception isn't reasonable. It may be exactly how many buyers perceive the LS. That could very well be the word on the street. Maybe not.
That's old news, as I say again, Lexus is nobody's stepchild. They're large and in charge!
The Future is here. And it's pretty cool!

The nine spoke wheels I have seen in some of the ads don't have the same appeal as the five spoke.
In that it wll be standard on the LS600 then Lexus is obviously aware of it's value.
Always a pleasure to read your perky rants..
After seeing the new cost structure, I am saddened,as the LS in the past has been a value and has kept a lid on the other manufacturers...I am afraid Lexus has let them out the box, so now all will be pretty expensive to purchase...One thing, in the past, Lexus has been more willing to deal than any of the German brands, so when thing cool off those than desire a Lexus may be able to get one several thousand less than the sticker...A hopeful thought Tony
You should see me in latex!
Or listen to me on 8-track. What a rush!
Hopefully Lexus will forego some sales, and establish more exclusivity with the New LS.
I'm confident sales will increase nicely, for the next TWO years, without much discounting.
Only thinking of what's best for the brand, long-term. Lexus really doesn't need sales as much as to flex some image muscle.
How many sales titles do they need? :confuse:

I think that's the main difference with the UL package on the LS 430. It's also possible the cool box is bundled with that package as well. But otherwise, memory seats with recline, heated rear seats, shades et al are still available.

So did mine.
An '07 with the same options appears to be over $74,000. Guess the value of my car just went up!
We both WISH!! 430s will be boat anchors once the 460 is available, plus trade ins will be plenty, so the used market will have a glut of 430s to choose from. I think our 430s will drop in value like the Titanic for a year or two - then they may recover.
That being said, I'm not interested in having a car with 2 propulsion systems, so I'm not interested in the hybrid - just give me a 460L, and I'm happy....

So I guess I'll wait for a 600- I may even spring for that parking system, although here in suburbia it seems I'm always parked in my garage or in a parking deck, never parallel.
So bring on the gadgets.

Good luck on your decision!

Is the SWB a good deal or the LWB is a rip-off? I compared the price and features of the two fully loaded versions. The following is the extra equipment the $85,947loaded LWB had over the $68,482 loaded SWB:
Pre-Collision and Dynamic Cruise $2,850
Advanced Parking System $700
Air Suspension and VGRS $2,120
Lexus Link $900
Upgraded Leather and headliner (not individually priced)
Rear Seat Upgrade $1,625
If you total all these extra features, you get $8,200 but the price difference between the two cars is $17,500. So for $9,300 I get extra leg room and upgraded leather. Am I missing something or did Lexus mess up the pricing?

I answered your post this morning but both our our posts were moved to the new board Kirstie created on the 2007 LS. In short a fully loaded SWB LS460 is $77K, not $68K. Add your $68K+ price to the $8K+ options. So the differentoal is maintained at the same $9-10K difference that you have at base prices not at $17K.
Thanks
