I'd love to find a Turbo I-5 A200 Quattro with a stick, or the S4, like a 93' or 94 as a good work car. That's when Audi made really nice cars, that weren't overly expensive.

    Thanks a real looker.

    Buick Special. 1962.
I got stung on looking up one of those earlier. Didn't remember the name "Special" was applied as a model line.

I have to agree. I remember these, these and the Olds and the Pontiac versions were the original compact cars of the 60's. I remember one snowy winter watching these going up the steep hills in the Pittsburgh area going around all the full size cars that were spinning their wheels. :)

Which means a Lotus engineer took a tuning fork, smacked it against the car once, and let them put their name on it.

A friend of a friend has one and removed all except those Lotus badges. Yeah, sure, that'll fool all the girls. :P

I guess that the GEO Storm version was the one that didn't get smacked with the tuning fork. :)

Can you tell me how to get pictures on the forum like your doing?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
If you mean where I get pictures that's kind of a trade secret ;) but I'll give you a two word clue: "google images".

    As to how:

-Copy the url of your picture onto your browser
and then use the "Img" button below the text box.

-Paste the url after the "img src" prompt on screen and...

-Hit the "close all" button and post the message.

    Have fun!

The 396 (325 - 375 hp) was an option on the SS, standard engine was the 350 (295 hp).

I'm wondering if this is really an RS/SS Camaro (you could order both RS and SS packages back then).

    Is it a Lancia Fulvia?

(I saw something like it on ebay yesterday...I can never get the Fulvia/Flavia thing straight, as I don't exactly see these often)

    Why is the tristar upside-down?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
I don't know why the Tri-Star is upside down. :confuse:

In any case sorry Juice, it isn't a 300SL.

I think the '99 had more chrome on the grill. So, that one pictured is a 2000 or 2001. I'll say '01 since John picked '00.

Ferrari 550 or 575 Maranello, it's impossible to tell which without seeing the front.

You can't link to pictures on your hard drive. You have to find them on the internet somewhere, like this:

55 Mercury, not a Monterey but a Montclair....
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
You have to find the picture first. Google Image search is a good way to find stuff, and sometimes I'll just go trolling around until I find something. Once you find the picture, right-click on it to get the link and check the pixel size (something like 345 by 240). If the first number is larger than 450, you'll need to find a smaller picture or set the size manually. Copy the link and paste it into the Message window, then highlight it and click on the little Img button above the Confused Car icon.

If you need to resize the picture, put width="000" height="000" in between the quote after the link and the end bracket. The width number should be 400 or 450, and the height number should be proportional to what the original was. You may have to bust out the calculator to figure it out. Divide the new width by the old width, then multiply the result by the old height. This one is 497 by 346 pixels, so 450/497 is 0.90543... times 346 equals 313.
