Yep, it's a '67 Galaxie, don't know if it's an XL. Jim Clark's personal car at the time of his death was a '67 Galaxie 7-Litre

GONE! The slinky coupe in #18975 is the new 2009 Bolwell Nagari powered by a 295HP Toyota V6 mounted in the middle. A hybrid/electric version may be in the works.

    More details here.

Well, with that short nose it had to be either mid-engine or a couple of squirrels up front...
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Yep, that's a Cunningham C-3. I think that is Vignale coachwork, similar to early Ferraris w Vignale bodies.

    53 Buick?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Yep it's the 50th Anniversary Buick Special, a limited edition for 1953.

I was hoping someone would mistake it for another 1953 limited edition Buick ragtop, the '53 Skylark which wore similar wire wheels but had a shorter windshield and a different chrome sidesweep.

I've been following this one, and initially thought the Koreans were only going to bring an automatic version to the States. But the story says otherwise.

Inside Line also says that half of them sold at home are white.

I've been wondering if the name is a play on Seoul or if that was even on Kia's radar when they named it?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Yep it's the new Kia Soul. I hadn't thought about the name as a riff on the name of S Korea's capital, just as a statement thet they'd finally made a car that had some. :P

I'll reserve judgment on the funky styling until I've seen one.

Also a few other cars are discernible in the background
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
The blue car in the foreground is a Hillman Super Minx (early 60s) with another Morris Minor S2 next to it. The white car behind the Minor is a Rover P6 with the faux coupe roofline, I think that's another Minor Traveller next to the P6.

And of course an Austin or Morris Mini behind the Sper Minx.

First generation Toyota Cressida, circa late 70's.
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,229
Well done Andy - It is a Super Minx. You can also see a blue TR4, white Ford Zodiac IV and another Rover P5 - a dark saloon one - and a white Vauxhall Victor FC 101 estate (with red roof)
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
How could I have missed the powder blue TR4.

Triumph TR4 or TR4a, though I cannot tell much more.
    Edit: TR4a, late Sixties.

This is one you guys got, but we didn't - TR250.
  • stephen987stephen987 Member Posts: 1,994
Yeah, you guys got the much more powerful TR5, didn't you?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Yep, the strip across the nose is the giveaway, almost all TR-250s had it. It was a one year US-only model for 1968. This one sports the rare surrey top option.

I don't recall ever seeing a TR-250 wearing that particular shade of blue or the surrey top.

Given that EMW came from the remains of the old BMW factory at Eisenach, I'd say something negative about the aesthetics of that car--but then I remember what BMW was turning out in Munich at the time.

    That of course is a "Baroque Angel", a.k.a. BMW 502 "Limousine" ( 1950-early 60's).

the mis-conception is that kojak drove a buick regal. the fact is that it was a buick century, NOT A REGAL. there was a difference, even though not to most people by the naked eye. if you look close enough in the shows, you can see the "century" emblem on the front fenders.
