That steering wheel reminds me of ones we had in our old 60's era Buicks. Don't know the model, but I'll guess a '61 Buick Wildcat. When did padded dashes show up anyway?
It's one of the ca. 1963 GM intermediates - Buick Special etc, I don't know which one, but I recognize that gauge cluster and the HVAC controls on the left.
My grandmother's cousin had a '79 Volare wagon. Two tone black-over-silver, with a red interior. It was actually a pretty sharp looking car. She got rid of it in 1996, selling it for $300. I needed a car at the time, but thankfully some other family member beat me to it so I never had to endure it. It had a 225 slant six, and I remember she was always having carb and choke problems with it. The paint held up well and it never rusted, but the pegboard headliner fell down, and the passenger side door got stuck shut.
One of my college roommates had a green 1977 Dodge Aspen Special Edition with a taupe cloth interior. It was actually a pretty plush little car for the time.
I vote for the Dart - it has some kind of grouper/catfish look going, really bizarre+ugly. The Conquest is way overdone, but lacks the really weird look.
..never figured Dagwood for a Saabaru kinda guy, but the grille, headlights, corner lights, hood badge & roof rack suggest it's a 9-2x (base, not Aero), a car that'll be a great mystery pix question in a few decades. :P

Sure looks like a Buick logo on the steering wheel, Stephen.
You kinda hedged there but it is indeed a Rope-Drive Tempest, in this case a '63 LeMans 326.

I am pretty sure it's a Tempest/LeMans or one of its siblings.
EDIT - there it is
Hard to see it. There's a checkerboard pattern, which at first glance made me think of the Chevy crossed-flags emblem.

It's a 1967 Barracuda with a 1969 nose. :-) 273 V8.

And although it is a bit of an ugly beast, there have been plenty worse, in my humble opinion (their later 250V8/Dart, for a start).

You be the judge folks, Daimler Dart?>
or Daimler Conquest?>
(They're both hideous but IMO the V8 inder the hood of the Dart (SP250) makes it the more desireable.).

It's a home-built from the late 1950s, but I couldn't place the bodywork. Until now.
Be sure to guess before you look at Today's Blondie strip

2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
Yep, it appeared in Funeral in Berlin (1966). A poster at IMCDB sez these conversions were done at Pollman Karosseriefabrik of Bremen/ Germany.

I can see some Ford styling influenance in the front end with the "big mouth"
look. But it reminds me of the Peugeots...
