I think it's a '65 Colony Park. Does anyone see anything that can be identified as newer than '65? I'm thinking that is about the time the picture was taken. Also, can anyone get a bead on the two partial ones closest to the camera?

I think you're right, the narrow wood would point to a 65. The tail lights were causing problems with me.

Sedan closest to the camera might be a Dodge Polara/440 or something, convertible a 65 Corvair?

You know, Fin, I think you may have it. I originally didn't think so because these cars usually have the model (e.g. 'Corsa') on the front fenders near the top. However after looking at a few pictures, that is not universal. For instance, the Monza has a badge further down the fender where it wouldn't show in this picture. Good eyes, my friend.

OK, I had to look this one up because I swore I saw them in the military years back; and I did. It's a late 60's or early 70's Kaiser Jeep 700 series truck. Kaiser actually owned Jeep back when these first came out. Kaiser eventually sold it to AMC, who then subsequently folded into the Chrysler/AMC merger. Interesting vehicle.

Next week I'll just try to grab the pic; seems like that worked last week.

Helps that my first car was a '67 Camaro. Though that was a long, long time ago.

    G'day

I'd never seen one before but after trawling the net for a while, I am impressed. No offence to the good old USA, but I didn't think any 1950's industrialist had that good a taste!

    Cheers

It's a '51 or '52 Chevrolet Fleetline which Steve McQueen drove in his last movie. I don't recall the exact year or the name of that (long forgotten) flick
but I did read that McQ bought the Chevy for himself when the movie was done.

Very good, but Edmunds calls it a Styleline.

"The Great Escape and Bullitt movie star drove the yellow '51 Chevy in the final movie of his career, The Hunter, the story of professional bounty hunter Ralph "Papa" Thorson. McQueen grew attached to the convertible and added it to his personal collection."

Any takers on the Superman car?

Yeah, the Fleetline was the fast back 2 and 4-door sedans. The Styleline was the bustle back design and the only one with a convertible.

    You got it Lemko.

"The Superman-inspired 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid, the latest in the lineup of Kia superhero vehicles, will debut at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. Kia is teasing the superhero Kia Optima Hybrid courtesy of a single image that shows the car decked out in blue exterior paint with the Superman logo emblazoned on the hood. Good eye, Stickguy. It is a South American (I think. Argentina?) iteration of the Rambler American sold for quite a while after AM folded in the US. I can't remember the name it was sold under.

Yup it's a Latinized Rambler sold by IKA-Renault of Argentina as the Torino.

IKA (Industrias Kaiser de Argentina) was originally a subsidiary of Kaiser that made Kaiser sedans and Jeeps and was then taken over by Renault.

When I was about ten or eleven, the Ford V8 that Bonnie and Clyde were killed in was on display in a trailer not unlike that shown in the above photo and the Jayne Mansfield Electra, in the parking lot of a mall about fifteen miles from where we lived. Having seen the movie "Bonnie and Clyde" a year or so earlier (I wanted to see it and amazingly was allowed to!), I pestered the folks to see the car and I did. It was behind a grated area inside the trailer but you could get pretty darn close to it and it was indeed bullet-riddled.

    G'day

Mention of the Bonnie and Clyde car reminded me of the story of the problems that the owner, Mrs. Warren had in recovering her stolen car. The local Sherrif claimed that she would have to pay $35,000 to recover the car after the shootout. She woin the car back after the sherrif was threatened with jail.

    http://texashideout.tripod.com/warrencar.html

As a kid, I loved the song "The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde", sung by Georgie Fame. I had always assumed that it was used in the 1967 movie, but apparently it was not.
