    Toyota dealer in Seattle offered $300 below invoice for the Hybrid XLE (invoice = $40,044). Is that a good enough price or should I push a little bit more? I offered $42,500 as OTD price (tax = 9.5%) but so far all of them cannot make the deal. Is that too "stingy" on my part?

    I suppose you won't know unless you ask.

    Im trying to get a Hybrid Limited Prem for the family and here is what they offer:
    - Pay of my RAV4 lease (10 months left on a 12k/36m lease and I already have 36k)
    - $2,000 due at signing
    - $689/mo for 12k/36mo lease
    - MSRP is $51k
    - Tax here is 10%
    - Residual is $32k

    Some say this is a great deal but when I compare it to my RAV4 ($30k MSRP, $1,000 down, $310/mo for 12k/36mo) it sounds a bit high.
    Any feedback?

    We don't have the new Toyota programs, yet. But, the Highlander Hybrid is a very expensive vehicle to lease. They seem to be in high demand, and the lease programs aren't great. By contrast, the RAV4 has been relatively economical to lease. Sort of apples to oranges.

    Got it. So maybe it's better to keep the Rav4 and finish the lease, In 10 months or so, Highlander's may have a better lease. I'll be over 12k in mileage but worst case scenario, i can buy the Rav4 and sell it to not to loose money.
    Can you also tell me what is better for a vehicle with over mileage? Turn it in before end of the lease or wait and pay or negotiate at the end of the lease?
    Thank you.

    Your current car has a payoff and a trade value. Find out what those numbers are, then you'll know how much it will cost to get out of your lease early. Compare that to the expected costs of the extra miles you'll have at the end of the lease.

    You won't be able to negotiate the buyout price, regardless of miles on the car.

    I meant negotiate a new lease deal for Highlander while turning in my Rav4 with extra miles at the end of the lease term.
    OR i can pay the buyout price and sell it on my own. I assume that will be better to get the full value of the car. I checked and the payoff this month was around $20k and the KBB value is $19k-$21k.

    If your RAV4 has a mileage charge due, that amount can be added into the negotiated terms on the Highlander lease.

    I think they already take that into consideration when they give me their terms. $2k down + $689/mo for 12k/36mo. So do you think that was an OK deal to take?

    Seems like a lot of money for a $51K Highlander Hybrid.

    Thank you. That's what i was thinking after seeing all those below $500 lease deals here. So one last question, what would be a fair monthly payment for that unit? I know there are many other factors that I still dont understand like MF, etc. but for a $51k MSRP vehicle with $2k at signing what should i expect for payments?
    Thanks.

    It depends on the price you are able to negotiate.

    And, it's important to realize that the remaining payments from your RAV4 lease have to go somewhere; not likely that $2K at signing will cover that, plus all the other up front costs and fees.

    My local dealer quoted me this on a SE FWD... can you tell me if this is a good deal?

    MSRP = 40650
    Invoice = 37907.13
    Sale Price = 37100
    Residual = 26829
    MF = .00133

    Monthly Payment = $370

    Drive off = $1000

    Hi, thank you for providing all of this info, have enjoyed reading all of your comments. Purchased a '17 Highlander FWD in SoCal this month. MSRP - $43,129. Purchase price - $38,500. I forgot to look at the lease deal. Based on your knowledge what would a 3/36 lease payment look like on this purchase price?

    I was just looking at Highlanders the other day. Sadly, I think the previous gen had better usable cargo space and seats. But the current gen has better outside looks I suppose.

    The 17 highlander drives better than the 17 Explorer not sure how much better the Explorer sport model is. Steering and handling are said to be best on the sport model. Id question the sport suspension with 20/ 21' tires in the nyc area with bad roads

    At that price, about $400/mo, assuming it's an LE or SE. And, assuming you pay all other fees and charges upfront. Other trims have lower residuals and higher payments.

    Im assuming this is with a minimum drive-off which includes: First month, $650 acquisition fee, Title/Registration, dealer fees am I missing anything?

    Payment would then be roughly $439/month including taxes or before tax? Thank you...
