You are aware that if you choose to buy the car there is no overmileage penalty.

With your disclosure, I think your 2010 lease deal is a great one, I would still try not have to put the extra $1K down see if the dealer will be willing to make the deal at $421 while paying off your 08 A4. You are in no hurry to get a new one, they might be in a hurry to move another unit.

Here is the deal I settled on today for an black on black A4 2010 with 15k/36 month lease

    MSRP:$36305
Sale price: $32831 (includes Audi loylty of 750)
    Resdiual value: $18,515 (51%)
    Money factor: 00026 (base rate)

In the lease I also rolled in acquistion fee ($625) and added audi care ($790) + a $204 dealer doc fee and taxes on that = about $1652. Audi care added only about 12 dollars a month though because it bumps up residual by 1%. I could have paid the $1652 out of pocket and dropped my monthly payment by about $35, but with uch a cheap interest rate, I like it better in the lease payment.

    Monthly payment: $458 +Tax: of $28 =$486
Drive off cost: $340 which covered first month payment $486 and registration/title fee of $100- the dealer kicked in the extra $246 taking it out of the money i paid on my lease trade in (see below)

Now onto the second part of getting out of my lease: I traded in a 2008 manual a4 quattro with sport susp, walnut trim heated seats and sirius tuner with audi care. Car had 38k and Kbb gave me a trade in value of $19,725 in excellent condition. The dealer gave me 21k for my car but I was underwater in the lease and my payoff was $22,350. So I wrote a check to the dealer for the difference ($1350) which I thought was fair. I am sure the dealer will put on his lot for 24k ( not that it will sell for that), but the car had been in two accidents (driver door and rear bumper replaced by insurance but somehow had a clean fax) and had two pretty good dings in body that would cost me at least $200-$300 to fix. So I was hapy with that part of the deal. FYI- one reason I traded in my lease (vs selling outright) ,was I found out that with audi leases if you are going to sell it to a private party, you must take title of the car first (you can't have audi send title directly to new buyer). This means I would have to pay the $22,350 + $1200 in tax in MA + pay $50 for a new title and then attempt to resell for $23,550 to break even. Much easier to give it to the dealer at a cost of $1350, where I don't have to take title or deal with hassle of selling.

Final tally- $70 more a month + $1700 out of pocket to get out of my lease and into a new car which is much nicer than my current one. Keep in mind the $1700 includes first month payment of $486. Deal was pretty much done over email and a few phone calls, when i went it the dealer the only thing they had to do was verify my trade was in the condition I claimed and fill out the paper work.

Hi pouli100. there really isn't that big a difference between leases and balloon notes. On either one, if you drive more than the mileage that you are allowed, you will owe a penalty at the end of your term.

18,000 miles per year is a lot, but I've seen worse. You definitely can lease with that many miles. The highest mileage allowance that most banks publish residual values for is 15,000 miles per year. If you need to drive more than that, you can purchase additional miles on a per-mile basis at lease signing.

Audi Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 A4 quattro with Premium Plus and 15,000 miles per year are .00026 and 48%, respectively.

BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 328i with 15,000 miles per year are .00220 and 55%.

As you can see, the 328's money factor is much worse, but its residual value is better and BMW is providing a $2,500 cash incentive on leases of it.

Hi audieddy. I believe that Audi Financial Services' money factors for 42-month is generally .00020 higher than its 36-month money factors. Its residuals for 42-month leases are probably 4% lower than its 36-month factors.

Audi Financial Services charges your first month's payment, a $725 acquisition fee, and a security deposit equivalent to your payment rounded up to the nearest $25 increment at lease signing.

ok, just finishing for lease with BMW (actually they are paying for payment of $551 for April on my 2008 528I) They will lease me a 2010 328i xdrive with $1800 down for all fees and $519 mo. for all bells and whistles except navigation. Is this a good deal? This lease is for 15,000 miles for 36 mos.

I have also looked at the 2010 Lexus IS 250 AWD for $1500 down for fees etc. $450.50 mo. for 15,000 miles for 36 mo. with all the bells and whistles including navigation and back up screen and a/c seating.

And then the Audi A4 Quattro 2010 Premium Plus for $1500 down for fees etc. $481. mo and a check back to me for $551. for the April payment on my BMW. Also 15,000 miles for 36 mos.

I like all the cars. Which is the better deal?

They all want me to take receipt by tomorrow.

    Thanks for any help.

Those are all great choices. You must have a favorite. Go with that. Yours is the only opinion that matters. The bmw has maintenance but you pay for it. The audi has audicare that you can opt for. Figure about a grand for brakes at 20k miles. Still financially not enough to one stand way out. Again -- get what you like the best. If not draw from a hat. ;)

    Good Afternoon:
Would you be so kind as to tell me what you think of this price and lease offer from a dealer in Pennsylvania on:
    2010 A4 quattro automatic Premium
    Black/Black (at no extra cost)
Options: ipod ($300) bluetooth ($700) and heated seats ($450)
36 mo lease/10K miles per year
    Money Factor: .00056)
    Residual: 63%
$0 down (other than doc fee ($210), acquisition fee ($625) and 1st months payment
    Cap price: $32,855
With taxes, monthly payment is $454.67

    Thank you so much!
  • boysie123boysie123 Member Posts: 2
So sorry, residual is 53%, not 63%
  • dee54dee54 Member Posts: 7
    Hi,

Sounds like you are getting the exact same car as I was looking at. Same color, same options. I was putting $1500 down for fees and lst payment, but they were giving me back $551. for my last payment on my BMW. My lease would be a 36 mo., 15,000 miles per year, and my mo. payment was to be $481. Over the life of the lease, I'm getting 15,000 more miles than you. I know at the end of a lease it costs .20 cents per mile. Not sure how they calculate it at the beginning but when I amortize things like the cost of mileage and the $551. back to me, it would reduce my monthly payment quite a bit. Hope this helps but your payment does sound a little high to me.

I thought the MF should be .00026 not .00056? Otherwise the numbers looked right assume your payment is in the low 400's before tax.

So far love the new A4- definitely a few notches above the old one. One lesson learned is I probably could have got more on my "trade-in"lease, as I stated before the payoff was $22,350 and dealer gave me 21,000 and I gave him a check for 1350 to cover the difference. Just saw the dealer has my car listed for $27,995 but its now "certified" and has a 100k mile warranty. Assumming its cost 2k to certify, that means dealer has a 5k profit it it as that price. While I doubt he'll get that, I'm sure he'll make at least 3k on the car.
  • seekingaudia4seekingaudia4 Member Posts: 66
There are other cost preping the car for sale. Also it all depends on how much the next guy wants to pay. They can make $4K, or very little.

But this example shows the benefit of the low RV and low MF lease. It is much easier for the customer to turn in the car earlier and get into a new one, also easier for the dealer to pay it off and resale it for a profit.

I think you did fine, could you have saved some more? Sure but you got in a new car with more bells and whistles for a payment you liked. The dealer probably did not make any money on the new car, so he gets to make some on your used one.

Looking for any advice on what to do following this experience:

Shook hands w/ the dealer on an 2010 Black A4, Premium Plus w/ floor mats for the price of $35,850, sticker was $38,205. Decided to do a 36-month lease, 10k miles per year. We started working out the lease based on that price, money factor was 0.00026 and 51% residual. Once I told him I wanted to roll all my upfront fees into the monthly payment, he started this song and dance where he had to talk to the mgr to get everything approved (my salesman didn't really properly understand lease math). Once that was straightened out w/ his manager, told him I wanted the Audicare for $795. I asked "that bumps my residual to 52% right?" Salesman replies "yes." Goes back to his managers office, comes back w/ new lease payment, but leaves the residual at 51%. I tell him, residual should 52%, so he goes back to his managers office. Comes back and tells me, "manager says this is the deal, no bump to 52% even if I get the audicare package." I get mad, tell him he's "nickel-and-diming" me and I'm not signing the deal. Brings his manager over to me, who tries to tell me he's giving me a good price, but he won't bump the residual. I get very mad and walk out, no deal and no car...

Any thoughts? I thought the residual bump was an Audi Finance decision, not a dealer decision. I thought he was trying to play games with me, so I left.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Hey guys, first post here, hope you guys can help.

Has anyone done any business with mandvleasing.com? I've read a couple of reviews online but don't know how much I can trust them. They seem to have very good prices on leases.
  • skellzskellz Member Posts: 4
so Ive been going back and forth between 2 dealers Ive now been offered 2010 a4 premium plus with b&o 10k a yr, 2k down 481 a mo. Im not sure on the sale price but the dealer is saying its almost 500 under invoice. Does this check out ? Any room to improve ?
  • davinciaudidavinciaudi Member Posts: 14
    How are the negotiations going?
My bimmer lease is up in 5 months and considering an Audi A4. I would go with premium plus but really don't like the wheels on P+. MSRP on prestige is about 43K and was quoted $670/months with 2.5 K down !!!

I did not realize you live in Buffalo, so do I. I have not heard encouraging reviews about the dealers in this area. I have been in contact with the Dealer in Erie, PA and they seem to be more eager to work with the customer. Please continue to share your experience as I will be going through the process in 2-3 months.
  • davinciaudidavinciaudi Member Posts: 14
So, what happened with the deal? I am new to Audi leasing. In fact, planning on leasing an A4/A5 in few months once my bimmer lease is up. MF and residual understanding seems to give the customer some objective negotiation power, and I have certainly learned much from reading this forum. It looks like they had underestimated your knowledge of audi care, residual, MF.
  • seekingaudia4seekingaudia4 Member Posts: 66
Why do you want to switch from your Bimmer to an Audi?
  • davinciaudidavinciaudi Member Posts: 14
I guess have become bored with the bimmer and looking for something different and unique. In addition, always had a soft spot for Audi.
  • andyfromjerseyandyfromjersey Member Posts: 7
Since you used to own a BMW, audi is offering an extra $750 dollars off the cap cost. If you live in the NYC/NJ area I got a deal for an Audi A4 premium plus quattro with automatic transmission for $365 a month, $3799 due at signing, 10k a year, 36 months... DCH Millburn Audi in New Jersey. Audi Financial Services is offering a $750 discount to anyone who owned/leased a 2001 or newer BMW or Audi

hey davinci got a tip from a friend check out this website: http://www.rluxurycars.com/search.php?display_nr=10&adnr=&zip=11024&distance=1&i- d_cat=0&f=&year_from=1900&year_to=2010&page=1&ord=m.make&firstclick=1&ordtype=as- c&id_make=&id_model=
I talked to him he claims to be able to beat any dealer price by at least 10% WITH 0 DOWN !!! i was curious how this was possible. he says he owns a leasing company and as such does not have the overhead of a dealership and can beat their prices. Once i close on my house i will run the credit app and let you know what he comes back with. Judging by the prices on the site this may be my best bet.

I had heard about bimmer incentive program. Your deal looks good. does it include Audi care? The only thing I am not thrilled about is the wheels in premium plus package. how do you like the 10 spoke 17 inch wheels?
  • davinciaudidavinciaudi Member Posts: 14
This is actually pretty sweet deal on closer look. MSRP according to audiusa.com is $38350. Do you know the final negotiated price, Money factor, and residual used in calculation.
  • andyfromjerseyandyfromjersey Member Posts: 7
    edited April 2010
No audi care but I think it was an extra $720 I believe? They said it does nothing to the residual and stuff. I'm not a really big fan of the 10 spokes... the sport package doesn't look much better either. I like the prestige wheels a lot, but that package includes the navigation MMI system, heard it was not worth it to add that. Not sure about the exact details but if I visit the dealership this weekend i'll keep you posted

Also it included the $750 extra Audi Financial is giving toward people who owned a BMW or Audi 2001 or newer for customer loyalty, and for beating BMW in growth for this time of year - some promotion. In my opinion it is way better looking than the 328 x drive and will save you a lot in fuel costs. I6 vs I4 turbo

    Hi All,

I'm debating between an A4 Premium or a Premium Plus. I would like metallic paint, wood trim (and a few options on the Premium) which brings MSRPs to $36,700 and $38,750, respectively.

Dealer has offered me $445/month for the Premium or $525/month for the Premium Plus on a 42-month lease with 12K miles per year and $2,000 due at signing. This also includes a BMW loyalty rebate ($750, I think) and all taxes.

Does this sound like a good deal to you guys? I feel like others are getting better deals on the Premium Plus, based on what I've read. The MSRP difference between the two cars is only $2,050 yet the sum of the difference in payments is $3,300. Even assuming taxes and interest, it seems like I'm not getting any residual benefit for upgrading.

Any thoughts on where these prices should be would be really helpful. Can buy the car in either Boston area or NYC area, if you know good dealers.

    Thanks very much,
    Tom
  • davinciaudidavinciaudi Member Posts: 14
Sounds reasonable and 2K at sign off is very attractive. Although I agree with you, significant difference between payments, that's where the dealer is making money. I would probably still go with premium plus for LED daylights and nicer wheels. I am always saddened when an Audi does not announce its approach from the distance with LED headlights!! What is the final negotiated price on the premium plus?
I assume you are switching from a 3 series. How do you compare the handling and acceleration between the two, I will be in the same shoes in few months.
  • skellzskellz Member Posts: 4
525 a mo with 2k down seems high. I'm looking at a P+ with B&O sticker was 39,200 got him down to 37,600. There in Rochester, not exacly NYC but not that far off. I would say you have room on the sale price. I got a similar deal 2k down on 42 mo 10k a yr payment will be 481 a mo. Also working on a deal with a leasing company that would be 0 down with a payment around 480 a mo for the same car. The catch is you need tier 1+ credit but he's saying he can bump someone with tier 1. I'll know for sure Friday i'll keep you guys posted.
  • tk55550tk55550 Member Posts: 4
Thanks for the input. I went to another dealer to try for a lower price on a Premium Plus, and was able to get a better deal. This deal, which I'm about to sign, is for a $38,950 car (Premium Plus Quattro Tiptronic with metallic paint, wood trim and all-weather floor mats) and includes Audi Care free maintenance. Total out-of-pocket is $2,000 and monthly payment (including tax) will be $485. This is for a 42-month (slightly longer term than before) lease with 12K miles per annum. I also have the benefit of a $750 BMW rebate included in those numbers.

Think this is a pretty good deal, so feel good about it. Am actually getting this car to replace a 2007 BMW 530xi. I haven't loved that car, to be honest, and was hoping to reduce my payments a little. The Audi seems like a great car, as it's more stylish and slightly larger than the 3-series. I have never been a particular fan of the current-generation 3-series and think the 2010/2011 models look a little bit dated. I haven't actually driven one to compare, however, so not sure about the handling/acceleration difference.

    Thanks again,
    Tom
  • davinciaudidavinciaudi Member Posts: 14
Congrats on the deal, I don't think anybody can get a better deal.
Which city the dealer is located in if you don't mind me asking?

Got a meteor gray premium with
    - bluetooth/homelink
    - AMI Ipod integration
    - exhaust tips
    - floormats
    - heated front seats

$430/month with taxes rolled in to monthly payments and
    $1400 to drive off.
  • traderfjptraderfjp Member Posts: 12
This sounds similiar to my deal. I pay 419.00 and 2k drive off.

Good luck. You're going to love the car. Although in retrospect I should have given the BMW 335i a look. Twin turbo and 300 hp.
  • krono78krono78 Member Posts: 2
Thanks, we test drove a BMW but Audi is a bit bigger (we need to have a carseat in the back) plus I liked how it handles so we decided to go for it. So far I'm really enjoying the car.

I'm in the same boat as a few of the guys above, first time leaser - and would really appreciate some help checking my numbers...

    dealership in Northern CA
    MSRP: $38,275
    Invoice: $36,786 (+$650 acquistion)
A4 quattro with Premium Plus in Blk (how hard is it to get this car in anything but black, silver or white?!)
Lease is 36 months, 10k miles a year
Residual: 51%, Money factor: 0.00026 (although thats assuming my credits as good as I told the dealer it was!)
Initial payment: $1124 (covers 1st month, registration etc')
Lease @ $511.77 ($560.39 with 9.5% CA tax) I've also rolling my acquisition cost into this lease payment which adds another $18 a month)

From recent posts this feels about right, what do you think? can't help noticing the current Bimmer national lease pricing which looks pretty aggressive, but love the A4. Thanks for the help

Hi zeekay. You mentioned this car's invoice price in your post. Is that the selling price that the dealer is using to calculate your payment? If so, then this is a very attractive deal...assuming that the dealer is using AFS' buy rate to calculate your payment.

It's in Norwell, MA. Managed to shave another $10 off the monthly payment, so down to $449. Great deal I think and love the car. The metallic paint (I got meteor grey) is definitely worth the money, in my opinion.

Sounds like good deal, but you may be able to push them a little more. I would up paying $450/month (including tax) for a P+ with a higher MSRP and includes Audi Care. I paid $3K at signing, $2K more than you which is about $60 a month on payment. So your $560 becomes $500. My lease term was a little longer and MA tax is a little lower, but I had 12K miles and Audi Care.

    Hi Car_man,

When you get the chance, could you post the May numbers on an A4 Premium Plus FWD for 36mo/10k, 36/12k, 39/10k, 39mo/12k please. I believe I would qualify in the top or second best credit tiers. If you know what the mf would be for both levels. Any other incentives that you know of would be appreciated as well. I am also curious where I could find this information on my own in the future, to cut down on the amount of requests you have to respond to :)

    Thank you kindly!

hey zeekay, i just went to an audi dealership in NJ today. i priced out a Premium, with heated seats, ipod, and bluetooth features. i think that's it.

they priced out a 15,000 mile lease for $456/month (premium paint color) for the 42 month lease, $481 for the 36 month lease.

now, i'm wondering, how did you get the premium plus at that price? i have no idea if this is a good deal or not either. i have also never leased.
  • bradykpbradykp Member Posts: 12
I live in North Jersey and I am interested in leasing the A4.

I went to a dealership today to find out information and got a pricing of $456/month for a 42 month lease with $1,600 due at signing.

It was a price on the 2.0 quattro Automatic "Premium" package. I know we discussed having bluetooth, heated seats, and the ipod integration, as well as the Metallic paint. I'm waiting for him to call me back so I can actually get the details and be able to compare. I'm not sure who the best dealers in NJ are to go to, but I went to Paul Miller in Parsippany.

    Any feedback would be awesome!
