    Hey guys I'm looking to lease my first ever BMW. Im looking into a 2013 528i X-Drive M Sport Package. Cold Weather, Premium, Rear View Camera, Navi...MSRP 62,150. I know I won't base it on the MSRP as I will try to get it down as much as possible. But considering that the 2014 models are coming out, what is the deal that I should be looking for when i go to the dealer and ask about this 2013 model.

    Hello kyfdx and Carman,

    I read through the previous threads ... but can't quite get all the incentives now with 2013 535i:

    -> $1000 loyalty cash
    -> $500 turnkey payment credit
    -> $1500 buildout cash

    Did I miss anything? Can I ask for (in the ideal-case-scenario), say, $3000 below invoice?

    Thanks.

    Also, for 2013 BMW 535i, 3 year lease, 12k/year, what's the MF and residual?

    Thanks.

    I was recently in a BMW service area and they were talking about the new BMWs coming out without the idrive Knob. Instead they will have a touchpad system. Did anyone else heard of this?

    Good Job, Man! It's $1,500 less than my 2013 535i M Sport, I wish you've posted this deal earlier, crying now.
  • infinitimninfinitimn Member Posts: 146
    So the customer cash includes 7 msd's to drop the MF to .00078? Looks like you're paying around invoice plus maco and training less $1500 buildout cash.
  • jasonmdbmwjasonmdbmw Member Posts: 117
    It still has the idrive knob. It's just bigger and has flat top that is a touchpad and you can write out numbers or letters for addresses and such. It is very cool to use!

    What is the $5500 for? is that your down payment?
  • bminusbminus Member Posts: 12
    Kyfdx,

    Do the MF's vary by location? I live in Texas and just got quoted a MF (top tier credit) of 0.00165 (59% residual) on a 535i for 10k, 36 months. It seems to me that the money factor should be 0.00125. Is this something that can be negotiated, or is it set by region? Thanks.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,412
    The base MF for the 535i is .00125

    And, BMWFS allows dealers to mark up the rate by .0004 for extra profit (and, most dealers take advantage of that)..

    So.. I won't say that money factors never vary by location... but, rarely, and not in this case...

    .00125 + .0004 = .00165

    regards,
    kyfdx

    Yes, this is the down payment
  • addictcaraddictcar Member Posts: 14
    Actually, I added all the options that you listed and couldn't get to MSRP $64,625. Mine is $64,660 MSRP, not much far off from your deal then.
  • infinitimninfinitimn Member Posts: 146
    So are these MSD's or a downpayment as you stated in another response? If a downpayment, how do you get to the .78 MF you mentioned?

    Carman or anybody?

    What is the money factor for a 24 and 30 month lease for a 2013 535i

    Also, please give me the residual for 24months and 30 months for same car with 15k miles/yr.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,412
    2013 535i
    MF is .00125 for either term..

    Residuals
    24 mo = 62%
    30 mo = 59%
    36 mo = 56%

    The shorter terms are not a good deal on this model...

    I was replied back from the fleet manager that this Northern California dealer cannot sell their car under invoice .... they're going to sell me the 535i at invoice and then all the "rebates" can apply afterwards, which include:

    -> $1000 loyalty cash
    -> $500 turnkey payment credit
    -> $1500 buildout cash

    I identified the car in their inventory and I'm going to dealer tomorrow. Will find out if that's true.
  • addictcaraddictcar Member Posts: 14
    That's true, I got a quote at invoice price as well.
  • 99_528i99_528i Member Posts: 29
    Did you get any of the rebates mentioned?
  • addictcaraddictcar Member Posts: 14
    I didn't because I bought the car elsewhere already, I got the $2,500 on my deal, but I forgot to ask for the $500 turn key.

    I just signed on a leasing contract of 2013 BMW 528i X-drive sedan (36,000 miles for 3 years) and wonder if the deal is good or not:

    528xi MSRP $50,100
    Space Gray Metallic $550
    Black Dakota leather $1,450
    Cold weather package: $950
    Rear-view camera: $400Park distance control: $750
    Navigation system: $1,900
    BMW app: $250
    Destination charge: $895
    Total suggested price: $57,245

    Purchasing price: $50,000
    Due on signing: total $1,930 (acquisition fee $925, Registration $289, title prep $5, tax $58, runner fee $160, first month payment $652.30)
    Monthly payment: $652 (including tire & wheel insurance $20, CT tax $36)

    This is my first time lease purchase and please tell me how you think of this deal. Thank you!

    First, every Forum participant appreciates having the information from other deals to help them to decide on "their" deal making, so thank you for sharing.

    However, I never seem to understand why anyone would want to have confirmation that their deal is either good or bad AFTER they have signed the Contract? The decision has been made and you should be happy with it as it works for you, and are going to now have this vehicle for 36 months no matter what anyone else thinks; no easy way of getting out of it.

    Enjoy your new drive!

    If you want to check your lease numbers there is only one place you should go. Checkout Inside Car Buying and their DIY Dealer Report. It saved me a ton of money and time when I got my new BMW as well as many of my friends.
  • hklmhklm Member Posts: 5
    Your negotiated purchase price is great however the math for your monthly payment just doesn't add up. You are also paying 200 extra on the acquisition fee.
    36mo 12k/yr lease numbers are 61% residual and 0.00117 MF. If you plug these numbers in a lease calculator you should get monthly payment of $551 which includes tax but does not include tire and wheel insurance. Tire/wheel insurance shouldn't cost more than 30-40 extra per month.

    You did a good job negotiating the purchase price but looks like they took advantage of you on lease payment calculation. It's too late now - enjoy your car!!

    I ran the number for you. See screenshot here for full breakdown: http://i40.tinypic.com/68envk.jpg

    Basically the monthly payment including tire & wheel insurance is at $600, then it's a decent deal.

    That is a pretty decent price due to the $1500 buildout credit. Are you eligible for the loyalty credit of $1,000 and the turnkey of $500? There is also $500 from Tristate BMW Dealers.

    Was there a bigger buildout as the car has been on the lot since at least January ( you can tell from the freight charge. ). I am considering one like that myself.
  • addictcaraddictcar Member Posts: 14
    Never heard of $500 from Tristate BMW Dealers, and I forgot to ask for the $500 turnkey credit, all I got was the $2,500 credit, never heard of a bigger buildout either. I test drove the Brand New Infiniti Q50, it's Slow...

    What state are you in and how much of the fees(bank, registration, doc, etc.) and taxes are you paying up front? The residual should be .57+.02 = .59
  • zhiningzhining Member Posts: 5
    I'm in WA State. The dealer insists the RV to be 0.58? The bank fee is 725, licensing fee 369, doc fee 69. Tax rate is 9.8%

    Then my apologies. A site I thought was reliable has the following:
    2012 BMW 535i Sedan
    36 Month – Residual 56% of MSRP – .00125 Base Rate

    2013 BMW 535i xDrive Sedan
    36 Month – Residual 57% of MSRP – .00125 Base Rate

    which would bring the 12k residual to 59%, but it is off by 1% for the 535ix. Helpful to me as I may be discussing a '13 with a dealer this week.

    I was quoted a .00145 MF (assuming highest credit) on a 2014 528i in SoCal. Does anyone know if this is right? It seems high to me.

    Thanks!

    Yes. I think it's .00125

    The base rate is .00125

    BMWFS allows BMW dealers to mark up the rate a maximum of .0004, for extra profit.

    Thanks x021627 & kyfdx!

    Sales tax is not included in cap cost, correct? When calculating a lease payment, sales tax is calculated separately and not included in the cap cost, right?

    Thanks

    I backed out the rates for the 528i labor day lease specials that end on 9/3 and it looks like the MF is .00065 and the residual is 62%. Is that correct?
  • zoombie99zoombie99 Member Posts: 327
    I know of no change to the MF for Labor Day.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,412
    Depends on which state you live in... Some states charge sales tax upfront (that can be rolled into the CAP cost, if you wish), and some states tax the monthly payment.

    You can't reverse engineer lease numbers, unless you know all the variables. The one variable you don't get with a lot of lease advertisements is the selling price.

    As far as I know, the MF on a 2013 528i is .00119, ad .00125 on the 2014 model.

    What is the residual for a 2014 528i for 36mo/10k miles/yr? Does adding the M Sport change the residual?

    Also - did the residual change from last month? I had a dealer quote me 62% residual last month, and now they are quoting 58%. Seems like a big drop.

    Thanks
