First Month, Bank Fee, Tax (8.625%), Tags, $2100 CCR + Tax.
39 mos./12K per year = $495 per month = $1097.88 behind invoice.
A resounding agreement ... from one who took on a 39 month lease when the 2006 M first hit the showroom with the numbers virtually identical ... and paid $125 more per month. Me stooooooooopid, but it won't happen again! Bart :shades:
I replaced an '06 w/o Tech with an '07 w/ Adv Tech. The Bose is "slightly" better with the two surround speakers in the seat, but that is not saying much. Bose is not all it's cracked up to be. That is a matter of opinion though.
Also a matter of opinion re. the Lane Departure and the "radar" controlled cruise. I like both as while on a long road trip I feel they do impart a measure of safety that I did not have without them. I'm not one to fall asleep driving at night, but you never know. The lane departure did warn me I was crossing the center line while fumbling with my phone once so ... most think it an annoyance, but I'm glad I have it. The cruise control will brake the car hard down to 20 mph if someone cuts in front of you. Is it worth the money? Probably not ... ymmv
$4900 down?? On a 24 month lease, that means your payment is over $730 with no money down...and only 12K miles?? Wow. I think you are paying about $130.00/mo. too much...
My current lease is up at the end of April. I have a 2006 M35x with an MSRP of 49,820. My monthly payment, including 6% tax, is $644. That's a 24-month lease with front money of $1200, including first payment. Since I'll have to start negotiations for the 2008 shortly, I'm wondering what the current money rates and residuals are for 24 and 36 month leases. I'd much prefer a 24 since I suspect that the M will probably be due for a major change shortly. Given the model's iffy gas mileage, one would think a six-speed transmission and/or higher final gear will be en route. In any case, I need the numbers before making a new deal.
Also consider the new FX which has the later engine and transmission. The financing probalby won't be as good, but the car would seem to have better mechanicals than the current M's.
My 24 month lease is up in June...not sure what I'm going to do....but the FX is definately an option (as is the 2009 murano).
I feel that I got gouged on my 2006 M35 sport/journey/aero msrp $51K for which I'm paying $650 including taxes. IMO you should be able to do much better. Bart :shades:
I was just out looking for a car and stumbled onto the M45, which suits many of my wants. But is it a bad idea to get a 2008 in March when, in a "few" months, the 2009s will be available. Obviously you get a better price in March for a 2008 than in August-Sept for a 2009, but will you lose more on the resale/residual?
Also, any tips on a 24 month lease rate for an M45 sport/5.1 (10K/year) much appreciated. I have always bought cars but maybe it is time to lease since I tend to flip them quickly.
It will be more than a few months, the 08 Ms came out in like November. I bought my 07 on Nov 30 and the 08s had just recently hit the lots. There may be good deals to be had in the short term considering the gas milage they get, people may not be lining up to buy them. Couple that with a generally bad economy and sales of the luxury cars will inspire them to offer some good pricing/financing. Shop around and shoot low. Good luck!
Correct. The EX is the Rogue and the FX is the Murano. I need a sedan with a roomy back seat and prefer the M. I have to believe that given the economy and gas prices the 08 Ms aren't selling particularly well. My options include the BMW 5 (I had two), the Audi A6 (not a great value), the Cadillac CTS (ugly), and the Lexus GS (small inside, high $, boring overall). That said, it's probably the M again, but I do need the residuals and money factors for 24 and 36 month leases.
Actually the ES350 is larger than the lexus GS and less high $'s. I would also include the E350 in your choices. I'm in exactly the same boat (decision in June)....narrowing it down slowly. My wife (short) is very uncomfortable driving the 535 (or any BMW) because the seat belts don't adjust on the door pillars. A6 is out (lacks image..not worth investment), CTS ugh, ES 350 (I don't want to buy a toyota in a fancy image and everyone seems to have one). So I think I'm down to the 2009 murano, 2009 FX, another M (if it's a terrific deal, otherwise I lprefer change), or the e350.
The M navigation keeps annoying me. There's so much you can't do when moving even if it's my passenger trying to make the entries. Most recent annoyance: it gives me very few choices of restaurants...one page worth...when I'm on an interstate. The Honda system (we also have an accord) is FAR better.
If the ES came with AWD, I could consider it, but it does not. As per the Nav, I agree on the annoyance when you're not standing still, though I'd be reluctant to use any of the restaurant information since there's no way of knowing which ones are decent and which are greasy spoons. More useful to me will be the traffic information, which is still in its early stages, though likely to more helpful than the old news on the radio.
Saying good bye to my baby on May 12. M45 sport nav BOO HOO Best car I have ever owned. Got a great deal as well but all good things must come to an end right?
Anyway...wondering if anyone knows what I am in for with the inspection process. There are only small scratches on the outside and wheels.
Do they alot for any of that or is that what use the "loyalty" cash for.
I'm in the same boat. Did you go through their pre-inspection yet? That may give you some insight. I am a bit worried about my tires (tread) and rims (a couple of curb rubs!). Any insight by those who have gone through the process would be helpful!
I too was sweating over this for a few months, and finally had it (inspection) done last week.
Prior to that, I went to friend's brother's detail shop, and he said he would only charge me $900 to polish up and touch up the wheels (sport package on my G35), touch up paint where needed, and I should pass.
That, and I thought at least rear tires (the expensive Z rated ones), and maybe fronts.
Well, I was told by the inspector that my rims looked great, especially for these, as they protrude. There is a scrape, but not bad.
My tires passed, and all I got hit for was a scrap that I put touch-up paint on (built it up, so as not to rust), and he said they reduce labor to $40/hr (going rate is around $60-$70/hr here).
I have to believe that given the economy and gas prices the 08 Ms aren't selling particularly well
For purposes of getting a good purchase or lease price I hope for your sake that you are correct.
Sorry to beat a dead horse on this topic but even though I agree that Infiniti could/and is doing things to improve mileage (see introduction of 7sp auto on 2009 FX), the difference between it and it's competitors is not as great as everyone complains about.
To whit, look at the new EPA number for the cars in the class (15k/yr at $3.49/gal) with a 55/45 city/hwy split):
Infiniti M45 ($2911) BMW550 ($2911) Audi A6(4.2) ($2911) M-B E550 ($3078) and Lexus GS460 ($2618)
I have a 06 M35X w/Xenon, Heated/Cooled seats, Rear BU camera and bluetooth with a 39/mo 15K lease taxes in 1st plus title and dealer charges drive away. Current lease pmt is $598.75/mo.
I am over my milage by about 2K and I have until Stptember 8th. What are the deals that people are getting on a 36/mo 15K lease for a M35X with the same equipment listed above?
First, the inspection, which turned out to be no big deal. Although I was concerned about my tires, a few scrapes on the rear panel, and on one wheel, the inspector dismissed most of this as normal wear and said the damage amounted to $140, which would be covered by the $500 loyalty waiver. So much for that. Second, I just had the Bluetooth fix installed and called a few people to get their reactions. Seemed to be improved, if not perfect. Third, I called Competition Infiniti in Smithtown to check on the deal for a 2008 M35x. Neither of the sales people who arranged my earlier lease were still there so I hung up and went to Plan B, which is competitive bidding through www.leasewise.com. It ain't cheap ($305), but for that price they get you at least six bids from nearby dealers. The bids come back as $$ over (or under) dealer invoice and specify document fees as well. Last time around, my deal was at dealer invoice and the document fee was $45. That alone paid for the cost of the service since most of the dealers were in the $299 to $399 range to draw up the papers. The service provides a complete report, which typically takes five to 10 days. Once it's received, you compare the deals and call those with the most favorable packages. It saves a lot of time, money, and whatever concern you may have about getting the best possible deal. If there's a better way, I haven't found it.
I have three payments left on an '06 M35 Sport w/Nav lease that ends in July. I'm not planning to lease another Infiniti and was curious to find out if this would have any impact on the lease end process. It's a 24 month lease with a 20,000 mile/year limit. I should finish the lease about 5000 miles under the limit, but all four tires need to be replaced and a I have a scrape on the edge of one 19" sport wheel...otherwise the car is in excellent condition. Does anyone have any advice on approaching the lease end? Would I be better off to get my pay-off and trade it in with another dealer before I spend $1000+ on tires and a wheel touch up?
I'm interested in leasing an '08 M35X. Can you give me the MF and residual for a 39 month lease? Are the numbers for a 24 month better right now? I've been seeing that it may be cheaper to lease based on 24 mos. Do you have the numbers for a 24 month lease also?
I got nine bids for a 24-month lease of an M35x w/Nav and 15,000 miles. Best was $548.72 plus tax and tags. Initial payment is $595 bank fee + first month's lease fee. Document fee is $45. Most of the dealers passed on what appears to be a manufacturer's incentive of about $2500, including a loyalty incentive of $1000. The highest quote was $663.36 + doc fee of $189. The latter apparently had no interest in passing on the incentives. The low-end deal was based on dealer invoice minus $2553 with no additional fee for vehicles located within 100 miles, no dealer-installed options, and no other dealer fees. I got my 2006 from the same dealer, received first-class treatment then, and expect ditto now. FYI, the money factor for a 24-month lease is .00084 and the residual is 64%. Additional mileage is 10 cents/mile up front. I can't imagine doing this well and as quickly by calling or visiting multiple dealers.
That sounds like a great deal. A couple of questions if you don't mind.
What was the MSRP on the car?
How did you get multiple quotes? Did you request a quote on each dealer's website or some other way? Sounds like you didn't visit each one which is great. It takes so much time in a dealer trying to get a good price, and then to do it multiple times. Sounds like you found a better route.
Wow - 9 bids and it's still the beginning of the month! I had pretty much crossed the 2008 M35x off my list until I saw the new $2000 incentive that was introduced this month and runs until June 30th, which is right when my lease ends. I'm 2 months away from my 21 month lease ending on my 2006 M35x, and only have 14000 miles. I got a killer deal back then and I'm only paying $528/month (tax included). I only put down inceptions and got the car for around $600 below invoice and the residual was like 71% and money factor was like .0001 when I did the lease. Haven't seen a 21 month, or even any more of those crazy 12 month leases on the FX since ...
As long as the $2000 incentive remains (it should, since it says it's good until June) and hopefully the money factor drops in either May or June to a level like I got last time out, then this car becomes an option again.
I had pretty much figured I'd be going with a G35 ... but this changes things.
Does anyone have the money factor for April yet? Residuals should be about the same or a 1% drop ...
I'm about to start shopping around for a lease on an Infiniti M32 with the sport and tech package. I put some numbers in the calculator @ leaseguide and am coming up wiht about $630 a month.. thats with $0 down and 7% sales tax.
That seems kinda high, considering that I've read some posts on here about people getting lease deals at around $550 a month.
Just curious to see what other deals people are getting before I walk into the lion's den.
MSRP: 49,165 with AWD and NAV. I used a nonprofit pricing service called Leasewise which is found at www.carbargains.org. They guarantee at least six bids. Told me it would take seven business days to get me a report. I got it in two days.
I looked at the carbargains.org site. Very interesting. I've never heard of them. Did you like the process with them? Did you think it was worth the money? Based getting under invoice, the answer is obvious, but just curious on your thoughts.
Absolutely worth the money. In fact, they guarantee that the deals they come up with will more than make up for their fee. These guys are a class act. No nonsense whatsoever.
The final deal: M35x w/NAV, 2 years, 18,000 miles, zero down, 6% tax= $584. Front money is 1295, which includes first month's payment, $595 bank fee, and tax on rebate.
I spent the grand total of 20 minutes on the phone speaking with the sales manager, then another 10 minutes with the person who will process the order and deliver the car. Toward the end of the month, I'll bring in my 2006, trade keys, and pick up the 2008. Why anyone would want to drive from dealer to dealer and put up with all the silly talk when you can make the arrangements this way is beyond me.
Dealer here in Tucson says the $2000 loyalty figure is good only for April. IF :shades: he lied to me he just nixed any chance I'll lease a 3rd Infiniti from him. Bart
According to Edmunds, that should run through June 30th - so, I think he's lying! It also says you can use it for leasing, so - let's see what happens!
It CAN be used for leasing ... but only the the M, the EX, and the QX. I'm actually thinking of buying my M off the lease for $30K. Cost will actually be a bit lower than a new M lease and my M is loaded and has only 20K miles. Frankly, that's why I'm shopping now, with 2 1/2 months to go. I don't know what I want!!!! Bart :shades:
I'm in the same boat. My 2006 M35x only has 14000 miles on it! It's a 21 month lease that's up at the end of June, but the residual was so high at like 71% that I don't think it makes sense for me to buy it ... oh well. Good luck!
Sounds like a great deal except I don' t understand the $1548 tax. You only pay tax as you make payments, not upfront. Is that a cap cost reduction in disguise? I would imagine that you still have to pay tax each month on the $528.
My lease is expiring on my 2006 M45 this month. I am leasing a BMW 535i, but it will not arrive until the first of May. Does Infiniti have a grace period to turn in you car at the end of the lease?
Here's the lease I was offered on a 08 M45x with Tech, Adv Tech, Splash Guards and Trunk Mat:
MSRP - $60,625 Invoice - $55,455 Cap Cost - $58,700 (includes Bank Fee ($595), Doc Fee ($364), Title ($212), State Sales Tax (7.4%)) Money Factor: 0.00144 Residual: 54% 39 Months with 10,000 miles $1,100 out of pocket (first month and registration) $800 per month
Do I have the right MF and Res? What incentives are being offered in April? Are there incentives for repeat lessees (I'm turning in a 2006 M35x)?
Since my lease is up in June, I asked what my options were to keep the car a little longer.
Apparently you can extend your lease for 1-2 months with the same payment...and they will give you a prorated increase in mileage. If you have an infiniti on order (might also work with a nissan), they will extend the lease up to six months.
I may take them up on the 2 month extension just to see if the 2009 FX lease rates come down (I'm sure they will start high)....or the murano lease rates come down.
Of course, that will also give me more time to find the car of my dreams, whatever that turns out to be. Nothing other than a 911 is tempting me right now.....and that's not practical for someone who needs to be able to drive around with two other people in the car when working.
I just had my inspection today. It was a breeze. I called and scheduled them. They were about week out in scheduling. I had 24 month lease, I am under miles.
There were some chips and scratches and the tires were worn but the only thing I got charged for was the large scratches on the driver side wheels.
The cost for that was 280 total. I now have a choice. Turn it in and use the 500 loyalty cash to cover it or fix it myself and use the full 500 towards the new one.
I think I will fix it myself. I got a quote today for 150 to fix the scratches.
It takes about 15 minutes. THen they send the report to Infiniti and give you 2 copies. One for the glove box and one for your records.
