Hi everyone,
I hope you are doing very well.

I am deciding to choose among the following SUV cars:
1) Honda CR-V 2008 (mileage: 108K, price: 7000)
2) Mazda CX-7 2010 (mileage: 70K, price: 7400)
3) Nissan Rouge 2011 (mileage: 97K, price: 7500)

Since my budget can just afford a USED SUV car, regarding the technical aspects, maintenance and ,,,; would anyone please help me have a reasonable decision?

Thanks a lot,

  • @youngkh, there are a lot of factors to consider when buying a used car. As long as they're all in similar condition and have minimal mechanical issues, I would probably lean more towards the CR-V or the Mazda Cx-7. Honda is most likely going to be the most reliable but this one does have 38K more miles than the Mazda CX-7 and is 2 years older. I would be split on the CX-7 and CR-V. It would come down to overall condition and having the cars inspected to see if there is anything that needs to be replaced (tires, brakes, etc.).

    I agree with @NathanCrumback

Though, really have the CX-7 looked at closely. A lot of turbo failures with that model (assuming that one is turbo-equipped).

All 2010 CX-7's were turbos. We owned one, and traded out at about 60,000 miles because we were just too skittish to keep it longer, due to engine failures and Mazda's reluctance to assist with the cost of repair.

I have no idea what model that CRV is or if it's 4WD or 2WD but whatever the case for 7000.00 I would jump all over it assuming it's in good shape. The low price actually scares me a bit.

I would go with Honda Mazda isn't great after a couple of years of use but my Honda is still going strong after 150,000 miles
