It's a really bright non-metallic red. You can see the full specs (if you screw your eyes up) in the Moroney Sticker.
I like that red color and I have seen it on Fusions, and that looks really nice.
I could read the sticker if I was on the desk computer my wife uses with the 22 inch screen, but I use the laptop in my office, so it is pretty hard to make out.
Of course she gets the 335, I get the 328, she gets the 22 inch screen, I get the 15 inch screen, and life goes on...................
Yesterday, I was driving past the local Ford dealer and stopped to walk the lot and check out the cars while they were closed. I'll tell you what... IMO Ford has one hell of a lineup. The new Explorer is great, the Edge as well. The Focus is impressive (if a little pricey for a small car) and the F150 would be my truck of choice.
They had a new "BOSS 302" Mustang with a 10K ADM on it.
I looked at the Taurus as well. I like it, but the center console/stack is really wide. If there was a Flex on the lot I missed it, and not a Crown Vic to be seen.
Next door there is a lot that sells classic cars. Some neat stuff there, however, for a lot specializing in classics, the condition was from fair to poor IMO. Many were rusty or had terrible "spruce up" paint jobs.
Stick, I am sure you know where I am talking about. Have you ever walked their lot?
you were about a mile from my house at Echelon Ford. And the old car place (I won't use the term "classic" for most of their stock) has some motley stuff, but a truly eclectic mix. Just don't get too close!
I have no idea how they stay in business, since I have seen some of the same cars there for years.
they do have some stuff I like, but IMO they tend to price drivers like they were restored collectibles.
big place though. used to be the LM dealer, with 2 buildings (one was used cars back in the day) and a huge lot.
I wondered how they stayed in business before I ever saw the condition of the cars, now I really wonder! When I get a chance I have to google them to see what they are asking for some of these beauties.
This is exactly why we have our $5000 truck. It's for hauling and towing. Maybe I'd feel different if it were our daily driver, but probably not a lot. When it dies, it will be replaced by a similarly-priced and similarly-equipped truck that meets both of my requirements - has A/C, and it starts and stops on command.
Re: the phone conversation - we absolutely HATE the phone and never just call people to chat. For friends, we consider it a tool to use to set up a time and place to meet in person, where we can chat. My S.O. is on conference calls a whole lot, and that's the only reason we have a land line. The ringer gets turned off at 5 each day.
The best part is that the built-in voicemail system is very flexible. It's set to greet callers and invite them to leave a message - in Spanish. Our family members know this, so if they happened to be calling from an unknown number, they can leave a message. It has resulted in zero junk voicemail messages.

Same here. Every time something dings the truck or we put something in the bed that could scratch or dent it, we just say, "oh well, it's a $5,000 truck."

Yeh, it's a truck, but who hauls around gravel in a $70,000 Cadillac Escalade truck. Todays luxury trucks are the new luxury cars...more for show than for work.
I don't think you buy one of these to race around on the back 40 putting up fence posts, or for hauling around top soil.

Its all relative. I know someone with a fairly large bank account and his Escalade EXT gets driven in the woods and gets the occasional kill (deer) thrown into the back.
regarding the Fusion today. I had bought an extended warranty. Despite being a Ford Warranty, you have to cancel it at the 'SELLING DEALER'. Luckily, it was close by and they were very accommodating. They said I should have the check in a week. I was expecting it to take much longer.

A lot of pickups are used for towing. That seems to be the hot button for marketing them now. I had a great little F-150 back when our first child was born. It was way too bouncy, as I had it set up as a sort of pre-runner. Traded it in on a since family sedan, an SHO.

"...Oldfarmer has a truck you may be interested in..."
I told you, it's not for sale. It's only 22 years old so I have to keep it for another 10 years or so.
Besides, Isell said he wanted AC, AT and a decent radio. My van is a stick, no AC and the radio sounds like something Marconi might have listened to. :lemon:
Unless you're talking about my old F-150. He might have a hard time getting the door open on that one as it went to the crusher a few years ago.

Thanks for all the good wishes on our truck purchase.
The purchase price is less disturbing if you think of it as a powerful, luxurious, SUV with way more leg room in the back than any other SUV I can think of, and an unmatched load and towing capacity............rather than just a truck that costs $40K .
We keep our vehicles a long time; 15 years for the last F150, and 12 and 8 years respectively for our current vehicles. I would expect to keep the new F150 for at least the next 10 years, and probably the next 15 should I be lucky enough to live that long, so at $4K a year it's quite affordable to us.
There's little chance of a load of gravel being dumped into the pickup bed at least until we get a bed liner. Still trying to decide whether to go with a LineX spray or an old school drop-in liner.
When its time is up I'll sell it as a beater to Oldfarmer for $1K.
Your comment reminds me of all of those people who buy SUV's with 4-wheel drive. It seems like such a waste of money. I'm sure that 99% of these owners haven't been off the road since they camped out in the Boy Scouts. Some snow areas may find them useful, but in the South it would be crazy to spend money on that option. I've never had it until we purchased the SRX. It just came with the car, along with 5,000 other options that I don't need. Still, it was what my wife wanted, and it was her turn to choose. Don't get me wrong. I love the vehicle, but it will never go off the road unless I have an accident.
Your comment reminds me of all of those people who buy SUV's with 4-wheel drive.
4 wheel drive is also useful in certain weather conditions, such as snow or rain. I believe your SRX has AWD (all wheel drive) so all the wheels are in action all the time. That could be a big safety factor even in wet slippery conditions or if you happen to go off the road a bit and get a wheel or two in the gravel. AWD will help you manoeuvre better in case you have to make a sudden action.
It is a good thing to have, it's like insurance, hopefully you won't ever need it, but if you do it is sure nice to have.
I can assure you that this vehicle NEVER went for $40K! It's a stripper apart from the A/C. There probably weren't too many $40K regular trucks for sale back when she was born.

Ha! Believe it or not, I once had a riding lawnmower that never touched a blade of grass. I bought it used from my bro-in-law, only because it killed him to have to part with it when he moved to Denver (where they had no lawn). Told him I'd sell it right back to him if he ever moved back.
Turned out the darn thing didn't fit well through the back gate on our fence, and it was truly easier to pay the neighbor kid (with a smaller riding lawnmower) $20 to mow it anyway. Not worth my time and effort at that price.
So, every once in awhile, I'd start the mower just to make sure it worked, and the kids would take it for a spin on the street (lived in a neighborhood with about 40 houses that was a giant circle, no through streets).

Don't laugh. Dumb me. It just dawned on me that "gen" stands for generation. I was thinking of the model type for a car! :confuse: :shades: I knew that I should have allowed my former English students to use abbreviations more. :P
