Yesterday got a lamp out light. I replaced the light and still got the same message. Started checking my lights both of the parking lights work, but neither turn signal works on them. Headlights low beam passenger side works driver side not working. Bright beam passenger side doesn't work but driver side does. Tail light work brake lights I am not sure as I have the battery unhooked trying to reboot the truck. The only turn signal is the passenger side rear one. License plate lights work also. I had the battery unhooked for about 30 min and nothing changed but my radio stations were still in memory so I am going to let it set for an hour or so. any ideas if this does not work?
As for the difference in headlight styles, "1500" and "SLT" are two different things... 1500 is a nameplate that represents the weight class, SLT is a trim level. The headlight difference is the upper trim levels offer a 4-lamp system over a two-lamp system. The 2-lamp is standard on the SL and SLT trim levels; the 4-lamp is optional on the SLT and TRX trims, and standard on the Sport and Laramie trims.
The 4-lamp system has its own drawbacks too... the most important being, the bulbs have less than half the life of the 2-lamp system.

Are you saying that they're aimed too high, or too high off the road? If the latter is the case, my 03 Tahoe was approx the same height and they lit up the countryside...literaly. What are my options?
I'd suggest you look up DodgeTalk.com and join the rest of us talking about our Rams, including the headlamps & much more.
A, they're mounted too high,
B, the housing prevents a lot of light from getting to the road (the bulbs are set too far back in the housing)
C, the housing and height prevent proper aim and throw
And to the comment re the Tahoe, yes, GM lighting is better because the housing and reflector shape are better designed. I had a Silverado a few years ago as a rental - same bulb, same wattage, far superior illumination. Even Ford still offers good old sealed-beam headlights on the base trim of the Super Duty pickups and E-series vans because they put the light where you need it.
This is not a new problem with Rams; my 2005 3500 is the same way. Inexcusable to need fog lights at night just to properly illuminate the highway in front of me, even when the regular headlights are professionally aimed.

Having the same problem with my '05. Dealer said "no luck". Found another post that said the cuise switch fixed it but I am skeptical after doing research on how the system works. Did you get yours fixed yet? Did you have any codes? I pulled one out of mine I think it was a 2153 (don't quote me on that)
Thanks Rock
The headlamps are only 4 inches higher than my 4Runner, and put out probably 50% less light. Ford and GM owners aren't complaining, so it is definitely a design issue like I said before, and to which you concur, but it isn't a ride height issue.
btw, i'm new here, thanks
The owner's manual has a list of bulb codes in the back, and any good parts shop will have them - mechanics have to get them from somebody!

Another time, I was backing up to a trailer to hook up; I rolled the window down, seat belt was not closed, and the driver door open while I was looking back. The horn started blowing (safety feature?); and then the windows would not roll up. I turned off the motor and cranked again (reboot?) everything started working again.
One more: I cranked my truck BEFORE the pigtail light went out on the dash one day, the service engine light came on, and stayed until I got home. The next day made sure the pigtail light was out and no more service engine light. Strange stuff. Sorry about the locks; guess I can look forward to that.
I have the same problems with my 2003 2500 quad diesel. No speaker on the drivers side back door and no power locks on either back door ( I found this out when someone ripped my lap top ). I'm saying that they are related but I haven't found the problem yet. Any help ?
when i put key in and turn ignition to on, all lights in instrument panel start flashing, speedometer and tach start going crazy and interior lights flash. If i turn the key tostart engine, not even click and things get even wilder in instrument panel. Somebody plese help with this because i don't wnt to have to pay dealer totry fixing by trial and error and charge for thigs not necessary. I have to disconnect rounf terminal from battery to stop the craziness. PLEASE HELP!!!

Did you ever solve this problem? I am currently having the same problem with a trouble code of P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor on my 2001 Dodge Ram. :confuse:
Is there someone ho had the same problem ??
Grz.
thanks,
Michael
HEATED SEATS, AIR-COND SEATS, HEATED STEERING WHEEL, ABS SYSTEM.
After running for 15 mins and stopping, turning the truck back on got everything working again except for a ESS-BAS warning light on the dash, subsequent stop and re-start got everything back to normal??????????
Second time this has happened in 1 month, trip to dealer got no results because by the time dealer looked at the truck problem had disappeared.
Any clues out there??????
trailer tow adapter. Think it might be the relay, but don't know how to find it
Thanks for your help
