also my phone has been paired with a Jabra headset which only required the passkey to be set only once.
Any suggestions that I can do to only set the passkey once?
thanks!
Also are they are security issues - someone outside connecting to it and listening to people in car, etc.
Anyway as Toyota said, radio signals are all around us. Bluetooth is the same in that respect. Yes, the transmitter is in the car but it's very low energy.
As far as security goes, you have to implement a connection from the vehicle. There is no way for somebody else to connect to it.
So far after less than 24 hours, I like the car.

Thank you,

and another question. This phone is also a Nextel radio. is it even possible to use the PTT radio with the BT system? i once heard an alert, couldn't reply back, then one time the other person heard a "bump" noise, other than that haven't figured it out.
Thanks.
I just bought the 07 Camry XLE too. I have ATT cellular and use a RAZOR by Motorola. It works fine. I notice that if you have your air conditioning vents pointing up towards the microphone, people can't hear you well or it causes interference. My problem is "call waiting"! When I am on the phone and another call comes in, I don't know how to answer it, so I ignore it. Then it disconnects the current call I am on! Help!

Any ideas?
About 25% of the time when I choose a number to dial from the phone, it does not 'connect' with my stereo.
My phone is dialing and I know I am connected b/c people have told me that I called but they could not hear me. Usually the stereo turns off and it goes into phone mode when I dial, but about 25% of the time it does not and I cannot use the actual phone or the stereo system so I am in limbo. The stereo continues to play music or whatever like normal and my phone is connected.
I used to have a Razr w/ T-Mobile, and now I have a Sprint/Nextel phone and it has happened on both phones.
Any ideas?
Also I have gotten wlakie talkie to work once or twice and it hasn't once so I'm not sure how it should work.
Do you feel that your audio system is not listening to your voice? Like the microphone isn't working?
That's what I get. For example, I can hear the other person speaking, but they can't hear me. Or I can push the talk button on the steering wheel and the stereo beeps, but then it does not hear the voice command.
Anyone else: Is this a common problem?
When I dial I pick up my phone and choose who to call from my phone and then hit dial on my phone, 75% of the time the stereo turns off and the word dialing (or connecting??) shows up on my non-Nav stereo and I can talk/hear and no issue.
25% of the time the stereo keeps playing music, and my phone shows connected so I know I have called/am calling someone. I have verified w/ who I have connected that they answer my call and I'm not there.
I took it to the dealer and after they had my car for a day they had no idea. They called Toyota the next day and Toyota said to replace my radio head unit.
SO that will happen tomorrow.
Has anyone had this problem and gotten it fixed?
As stated previously, the Palm devices have poorly implemented Bluetooth functions that will cause many issues when using them with any handsfree system.
The issues with the microphone losing the audio connection seems strange. I think that might warrant a trip to the dealership. If they can't figure it out, try changing the phone or the handsfree system.
My wife says I sound better on the Camry speakerphone that I have for the past two year either on the phone directly or through headsets.
I got in, started up, drove about a mile and tried to place a call to my wife. The display showed the bluetooth was connected and that it was dialing, but I couldn't hear anything. I tried again and same thing, so I turned off the bluetooth on the phone and place the call and there was no problem. Wife said it had rung and she answered, but couldn't hear anything either.
Tried turning the bluetooth back on and calling voicemail, but still nothing. Tried rebooting the phone (It's windows mobile, so sometimes a reboot helps.) Still no luck.
I drove about 180 miles and then stopped for gas. When I got back in and restarted the engine, everything was normal again.
Anyone ever experience this? Anyone know of any button or combination of buttons or sequence of turning things on that I might have hit to cause this?
I don't think it was the cracklings.
Thanks.
When the Camry loses it's ability to communicate with the phone, power cycling the PHONE never helps. Power cycling the CAR does cure the problem. I have observed this many times. Your observation is also key, i.e., the phone is capable of placing the call. I have also observed that, even with th phone off, the car no longer "hears" voice commands once it has entered it's failure mode. This is really very clearly a car problem, not a phone nor a bluetooth problem.
So what to do?
Having a dealer replace the electronics does not help (kimcaait, psk and jeffa tried this). bigmike2 and I have exactly the same problem. So far, I've just shut off the bluetooth function of the Camry and let it go. Speaking as an electronics engineer, my opinion is that we're looking at a design flaw. Something in the Toyota electronics, such as the noise canceling circuitry, or the microphone/audio input circuitry or the computer logic that manages these functions intermittently fails when the bluetooth is in use. Once it fails, the system needs to be reset by power cycling the car. Design problems aren't solved by getting another part installed, since the replacement part is made to the same design.
I think we're ready to ask Toyota for a review of the electronics related to this function. They're a company that prizes reliability, so maybe they'll be interested. Anyone agree? Anyone know how to get to a corporate contact, not just a dealer or repair shop?
I have experienced a couple of quirks related to user stupidity, e.g. shutting off the ignition while on the phone
My PDA phone warns me when the battery gets down to 30%. I have MS voice command installed, so it actually says "battery is low". If I don't plug it into the car cord, not long after the warning, the bluetooth goes away. While I haven't researched it, it's pretty consistent and I think that the phone is turning off the bluetooth to conserve power when the battery gets to a certain level.
