my ridge had a flat once, didn't notice it until I got in and was promptly alerted. Thats the only time it went off after a year of driving.
:P
I hear all of you about the phone frustration. I had a phone that didn't work, sold it, got a Treo 700p, and disconnected it this weekend because everyone I talked to through the car couldn't hear me. Again, $40,000 for a vehicle with bluetooth, and my phone doesn't work right with it? I may take it to the dealer and let them play with it a little. Overall, still really happy with the SUV.
btw - you should be able to look up your phone on www.phonescoop.com to find out what version of bluetooth it has. If you need any help finding it, let me know and I'll be happy to help.

1. The M1 is a little too bulky for me. I carry my phone around in my back pocket, and the M1 is thicker than I would've liked. Then again, my previous phone was an A900 (Blade), so I was kinda spoiled with having a thin phone. If you're used to a regular sized phone, the M1 would probably seem small.
2. The M1 has limited bluetooth functionality with the LR2. Here's a list of what works and doesn't work:
Works:
- Pairing
- Phone book synchronization
- All phone book features such as scrolling through to locate a contact and dialing them, contact recognition on incoming call, searching phone book, etc.
- Direct dialing using keypad
Doesn't work:
- Recently dialed (i use this a lot on my phone, and using it through the car with the steering wheel controls is a must)
- Received calls
- Missed calls
If you really, really love the M1, you can certainly live with the limitations of how it works with the LR2. I just exchanged it for the Samsung M610, which is touted as being the thinest clamshell phone in the US currently. I've done a lot of research lately, and i feel pretty confident this phone will keep me happy for at least a year or so until the next big thing comes out (hehe). I also considered the new M620 (UpStage), but it had a couple significant drawbacks (inaccessible battery with short battery life unless you use the crippling battery wallet it comes with, very small main phone screen, etc).

Researching myself. So far only the SLVR is on the list that is 100% comp and sold on base. The others they sell either don't work, or not advised. but, I'll keep looking. I don't get my 2 until 1st week of june...
Anyone have pet name yet? I called my MINI Java... I guess I'll have to drive it a bit to get his/her personality down.
btw - update on the M610.... using the brand new M610 i exchanged the M1 for today, when i tried to pull up any of the recent dialed, missed calls, or received calls lists, i just got a "Please wait..." message that never went away, so i had to keep canceling it. I'm wondering if maybe the phone has to accumulate at least 10 entries in each category before it will start working.... sounds strange, i know, but these features worked with the M610 i tested at the sprint store before I bought mine. At least we seem to be making progress -- the M1 I had before would always immediately show a message like, "No results" immediately when i tried to access those call lists... at least now it seems to be trying to pull those lists up... stay tuned

Things have come a long way in just a couple of years.
What was the outcome of your experience with this?
Overall the truck is super. I hit some hard rain in ATL and the rear fog lights came in handy. :shades:
My only major issue is that there are no automatic running lights for daytime driving.
Minor issues..no covered storage compartment for the little things and no rear outlet plug (I have a electric cooler) thus I am using an extension from the rear console to keep the sodas and red bull cold.
I am really pleased thus far with this vehicle. :shades:
I have regular audio system
The rest of the car was really good. I was really impressed by how good the rear visibility was.
Another question, right below the slot where you put in the 'key', there's a piece of plastic that sticks out a little bit. What is that? I tried pulling it a little bit, but it wouldn't move and I didn't want to try harder and risk breaking it. thx.
The PDF in the Land Rover website said it wouldn't work. My girlfriend's Cingular-branded PDA didn't work.
Also, I was surprised about not having a lockable fuel door. I also wished it had some covered storage space.
Overall I was happy with it. BTW, my local dealer would not budge at all on MSRP.
When I inquired at the dealer, they said it only was available for LR2's without the Technology package ( ie no NAV)
I love the sound quality from CD's and would like to see if the quality from the IPOD would be better if it was connected via the dock cable and not a headphone jack to AUX input.
I added the following accessories:
Side Protection Molding LR002791
Running Boards LR002773
IPOD Connection Module LR002787
Front mud flaps
Rear mud flaps
And, when the roof rails are avail - them too

My Sony Ericsson w810i works perfectly, but my p910i doesn't. I believe that the bluetooth level of security is the reason that not all phones are working with the LR2 system. Lots of Blackberries and other smartphones are compatible with the LR3 and Range Rover system. I guess it's just a matter of time that PDAs and smartphones will be compatible with the LR2.
I have my LR2 for 6 weeks now. After about 1200 miles, the average mileages is 16. I drive mainly in town; lots of stops and goes
So far only one problem: "Engine system fault" warning light up after 3 weeks. According to the dealer I brought the car to, the car latest software has not been uploaded properly by the dealer where I bought the car from. Now with the updated software, the warning has not yet come up.
Otherwise, I really enjoy driving this car. The sound system (upgraded)is great. I use the CDs instead of the ipod. 6 discs of mp3 is equivalent to the ipod nano. That's plenty for me. The ride is a little bit soft but very comfortable. So far it still is the only LR2 in town. I definitely get notice with that Tambora Flame color. I even got a color matching car seat for my son. :P
I don't have my LR2 yet, so that is why I ask. (2 weeks away)
My MINI, I would have to set the max manually even tho on auto I had turned way down to cool it off, say 62. After I set the max ac manual java cooled of very nicely - she has the screen sunroof blocker as well, no hard cover to block the sun 100%
I took it in and they said one of the adaptive lighting's motors had a "mis-build," whatever that is. My adaptive lighting still works and all, but apparently one side isn't swiveling as far as it should. They've ordered a part and are going to call when it gets here--about 7-10 days they think.
In the meantime, my light is still blinking and it's annoying--especially on a brand new car.
So did your light turn off after a restart or anything? Mine has constantly blinked since it first came on.
Thanks
I, like many others on here, need a new phone since mine won't pair. It seems like there should be a more general rule indicating which phones will work instead of checking each phone against that master list. There are 3 phones I'm interested in and they aren't even on that list--called LR and they don't know.
I have to throw in my $.02 rant as well--not being able to link up is completely disappointing. And I am willing to buy a new phone, but then to have those options limited too...I agree with everyone who's already said, this is a $40,000 car and it can't pair with my phone. Boooo.
which carrier are you with? and which phones are you considering? i've tried a handful of sprint phones with my LR2, and i'm sure others here have tried other phones, so someone is bound to be able to help you out if you let us know which phones you're looking at.
Rob
I am a PDA phone kind-of-guy, and I have noticed that no phone with the Windows Mobile Operating System will pair correctly with it. Maybe when Windows Mobile 6 comes out it will fare better.
I don't know why they didn't think of this when they were setting the vehicle up. In my opinion, high-end vehicle owners will tend to have high-end phones...and there are almost none that work right with the LR2. I am not a Blackberry person, but I can't believe these generally don't work with it too. As for the others, the Treo 700p will work, but not fully...
