Wipers and headlights

Hi, Is there a way to set the headlights so when I turn on my wipers the headlights come on and turn off when I turn the wipers back off? I have had this on non Hyundai suvs and really like it. My current suv is a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe sport 2.4. Thanks, John

Well, it is possible, but involves wiring, diodes and quite a bit of knowledge of your vehicle's wiring.
If you try and tie the 2 together without diodes and relays, you will end up with the wipers coming on when you turn on the headlights and visa versa.

Kind of an odd request, why are you wanting to do that?
What's wrong with just leaving the headlights on auto or on?

I can understand the desire. In some of our surrounding states, it's law that headlights must be on, when wipers are in use. But, with auto-on, they may not come on in the daylight.

Seems like it would be virtually impossible to add to a vehicle that doesn't have it, though.

Thanks for the answers. Yes I wanted to do this because it is a law here for lights on when wipers are on but I'm not going to change anything on the car I'll just have to turn them on when I use the wipers. Thanks again.

Yes, California is one state that requires lights on when wipers are on.
