While most XC Volvo dealers include approx $995 for lease-acquition and destination. I'm running into a situation where they also want $695 for paperwork. Is this real or BS?

The base lease acquisition fee is $695. If you see $995, then they've marked it up for extra profit (that's the maximum allowed). This is not the same as the destination fee.

Big doc fees are just money grabs. Anytime you go to a dealership, ask them for their doc fee, then subtract that number from any offer you were planning to make.

Oops...I gave you mis-information earlier. Sorry! Am in NC 28226 zip. Am not finding ANY discounts on a loaded 2019 XC40. Strickly MSRP $46k. Just as you said, the MF is .00090 and 36/10 Residual is 62%. However, they want a $995 Lease Acquisition Fee ; a $429 doc fee; a $72 tag transfer fee, and a $320 end of lease paperwork fee. Those fees seem very inflated. Am wondering if I'd be better off waiting til the novelty on the car wears off 6 months from now and perhaps getting better discounts and lower fees. What think?

Acquisition fee is marked up from $695; the $429 doc fee is pure profit. The termination fee is standard now, for all brands.

Yes, waiting while the 'gotta have it first' set overpays for early inventory is a good plan.
