Where is the tire pressure sensor located?

Sensors are located in each wheel, under the valve stem.
    2014 Audi Q7 TDI, 2008 and 2013 Subaru Forester(s), 1969 Chevrolet C20 Pickup, 1969 Ford Econoline 100, 1976 Ford F250 Pickup

Not likely in a 2001 model, though?

I'll bet the tire pressure monitor works off of the ABS system. That's the way it works in my 2006 BMW. No individual sensors.

Looks like they do sell the sensors in sets of 4, so probably they are wheel mounted in this case.
