Feb 2019 RDX A-Spec Price point

I've done a ton of research and I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a 2019 A-Spec. Would it be too much to put a hard price at 45K OTD? I would be financing through Acura with the 2.9% and it I would look to go with a local dealership so they will service the car.

I’ve gotten two similar quotes for lease. Where do I have room to negotiate more?

    Acura 2019 RDX A-Spec FWD
Metallic Black with Black Interior (black rims)
    San Diego, CA 92103

    MSRP: $44,995
    Discount: $6,000
    Selling Price: $38,995
    Gross Cap Cost: $40,980
Upfront Payment: $1,234 (includes 1st payment, acquisition fee, doc fees)

    Residual % = 56%
    Term 39 months
MF .00200 (both dealers said no flexibility with this)
    10,000 miles
Adjusted Residual 25,197 (we likely 100% will NOT buy the car after lease is over)

Monthly Payment: $578.66 (i want this as low as possible and this seems too high)

In CA, I would think your upfront amount would be 1st payment, DMV fees (about $500) and doc fee ($85)
That would leave the $595 acquisition fee to be rolled into the CAP.

Why is your CAP cost almost $2000 over the sale price, if you are paying $1234 upfront?
That seems to be where the payment goes off the rails.
Otherwise, it wouldn't be a bad deal

Also, you can get .00190 MF by making a security deposit.

Thank you so much for your quick response. Quick follow up. Does your advice as to where I still have room to negotiate change with these answers to your questions?

    1. 1st/upfront payment = Dmv license/registration, California doc fee, tire fee, sales tax on doc fee (526+85+30+7+6.59) is 654.59 + Monthly Payment $578 = $1,234

    2. CAP is $2K over Sales Price because of $1,390 in “AfterMarkets” by both dealers (“Protection Package” for $595 and UAC Paint & Int Protection for $795) + the $595 Acq Fee. I complained about the aftermarkets stating they weren’t on the sticker and if given the option I wouldn’t want them but they claim “they are already added and can’t be removed” but are also implicitly being discounted back to us through the large $6K discount.

    1. If you add the acquisition fee into the payment, it will naturally go up. But, I agree with your list of up front costs and fees.
    2. Ask for another $1000-1500 of the selling price to offset the aftermarket costs and see what they say. Remember, $2375 of that discount is cash from the factory.
